Green Grass transformed our yard space from a mud pile that was sliding into our neighbors yard, to a beautiful and functional space. We were impressed by the professionalism of the landscape architect Jeff, the project manager Patrick and their crews. The bid we received was competitive with the other vendors that we spoke with. This company stood out with their thoroughness on the plans and detailed proposal as well as their knowledge of village code. Multiple sections were completed (100 ft brick retaining wall, pavers patio and fire pit area, and fencing). They were patient with our many questions, as well as flexible when we changed scope several times. We highly recommend Green Grass and look forward to working with them in the future.

We are long-time, repeat customers and absolutely love the amazing work Green Grass always does for us! Our first project was landscaping our backyard from nothing but grass—adding plants, bushes, a tree, and a stone patio. Everything our architect Jeff Johnson planned was beautiful—he has a real talent and eye not only for what is going to look beautiful in your space, but also what will work best in your space, working around light, shade, and knowing what plants will do well for each part of the season. We had a couple ideas and lots of questions, and he was happy to work with us. The Green Grass team came and did a wonderful and fast job, we were enjoying our new yard that very weekend. We recently moved to a new home and called on Jeff again, this time to design landscape lighting around our property for aesthetic, but most importantly for security as our front and backyard space is rather large and dark. Once again, the Green Grass team did an amazing job. Jeff put together a plan, worked with our timeline, and finished installation in one day. The new lighting is beautiful, so high-end and gives off the perfect glow we wanted. The system they used is easy for us to adjust if needed, and uses energy efficient LED bulbs. The strategic placement of each light is spot on, illuminating our trees, pathways, foliage, and accenting our home exactly how I was hoping for and more. There’s just something about landscape lighting that really makes your home that much more beautiful—I can’t wait to entertain this summer! And, we now have peace of mind knowing our home is lit. We can see what’s going on outside, as have the ability to see what’s around us coming in and out of the home when it’s dark. I love everything they did and can not recommend Green Grass enough.

He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, easy to work with and invested substantial amount of time creating a beautiful backyard patio combined with shrubs and trees based on our feedback as well as the most cost effective water drainage solutions to properly manage the abundance of water on our property. He worked with us through various revisions, recommending colorful plant combinations and was aware of various city codes and permit process so the job was done right. He made sure the project was finished with our complete satisfaction in mind from start to finish. We Came to Green Grass to help solve both functional and aesthetic problems. Functionally, our yard takes on a lot of water and we needed a solution to help mitigate this. Aesthetically, we wanted to wipe out what was there and start fresh with a new design. Jeff and his team delivered on all fronts. We worked very collaboratively on the design and the GG team delivered on everything as promised. Functionally, they have done a great job providing solutions to keep our yard from becoming a swamp every time it rains. Most important to me, when there were changes or tweaks to make, even after the installation, they never left and saw it through to make sure we were happy with the final product. They've been a true partner, invested in finding solutions and not just a landscape vendor that does the job and leaves. I'll be partnering with them for all my future needs.

We worked closely with Landscape Architect, Jeff Johnson, on a full landscape redesign during a complete house renovation. Jeff's initial plan was exactly what we had hoped for and reflected the architecture style of our house. He listened closely to our wishes for a low maintenance, Prairie style design. His knowledge of the appropriate plants that will thrive in our conditions made the plan flourish year after year. We used Green Grass for hardscape patio design and installation, building of two large retaining walls (one using engineered store and one with reclaimed natural stone) and for all of the plantings. We were very impressed with their installation crew. Over the years, we have worked with Jeff to tweak the existing design and make small changes to accommodate the way our family uses our yard. Green Grass has stood by their work.

Excellent service. From start to finish, Green Grass was prompt, professional, clean, and responsive. I was very impressed with how flexible they were as we made some changes to the plans on the fly and they just rolled with it. Required some coordination with outside contractors we hired and they worked very well together. Excellent communication and reasonably priced. We received 3 estimates for the job and Green Grass was the lowest price and yet, there appears to be no compromise in quality or service. They cleaned up their mess and provided weekly updates. We never were confused or concerned with the progress of the project. We would hire them again for sure!!

I cannot imagine a better experience working with a landscaping company. We hired Green Grass, Inc. to design and implement the hardscape and landscaping in our back yard. Jeff Johnson, the landscape architect, listened carefully to our ideas and came up with a plan that incorporated those ideas and then some. Our backyard is transformed. We built patios on two levels (bluestone and clay pavers), redid all of the landscaping in the backyard, including a raised vegetable bed, and created a new access to one side of our house. The project began and ended on schedule. I can't emphasize enough how responsive ALL the employees at Green Grass were. The two crews (hard scape and soft scape), the site supervisor, and Jeff were extremely professional and their work ethic and care were exemplary. Each person involved worked to make the results the best they could be. When Jeff came to check progress, if there was something he thought needed to be done to improve things a bit, he included it. I highly recommend this company.

Had a very positive experience with every aspect of working with Green Grass. Jeff heard our ideas and incorporated them all into a wonderful design for an extensive patio complete with fire pits, dining area, sitting wall and chess board.. The installation crews were friendly, professional and the work was completed on time. Completely changed our backyard into a wonderful space. Really could not be happier.
