Guy was fantastic to work with, from start to finish. He is detail orientated and thorough. He took the time to carefully consider my kitchen renovation ideas - and rather than deflect the ideas that I had as some architects might do, Guy walked me through the cost implications of certain decisions (e.g. putting in a new kitchen window) and then helped to make these ideas better based on his years of experience. My husband and I were in a rush as we were ready for our contractor to start work, and while Guy did everything he could to ensure the process was as fast as possible, I was really impressed by how thoughtful Guy was in approaching his work to ensure that the final plans would result in the best possible new kitchen. He was also very adaptable to the current COVID situation, and we worked together to ensure that he had all the photos, measurements and details needed to complete his work without a site visit while lockdown measures are in place. Would definitely recommend Guy, and would absolutely use his services again if we need an architect!

We used Guy when we gutted the first floor of our house in Bell Canyon. This was our first time remodeling a house and found that he was easy to work with, resourceful and infinitely patient when we changed our minds time and again. We loved the designs he came up with then and a decade later, love them now just as much. If we ever move into another house that needs updating, I will use him again without a hesitation.

Guy was great to work with! I had him come Look at a job at my house that we started without a architect and he saved the day. He Gave me a bunch of ideas and quickly Got us our plans and we were able to get the plans were approved over the counter the first day, in the city of Santa Monica! I am a residential developer and have done many nice homes in nice areas for a many years. During this time I have had the opportunity to work with many accomplished Architects and designers. In the process of designing my own home, I called upon several Architects and designers. The design evolved from one Architect to the next and in the end I was not fully satisfied with the plans. However, I was anxious to get my home built, so I began construction. In the middle of foundation work, I realized the plans were a mess and stopped the work. Guy had just prepared plans for a spec house for me in the Pacific Palisades. I was particularly impressed with the layout of the floor plans and the drawings were well coordinated. He managed to fit everything I requested into a limited area and everything worked and flowed. I received many compliments and praises from my partners and investors. I asked Guy if he could help me out. He responded quickly and began to clean up the plans. In the process, he made suggestions that would improve the design. We ended up redesigning the entire building and created the kind of home I had always envisioned and was striving for. I was impressed by his ideas and thoroughly enjoyed our design process together. When my home was completed, it exceeded my expectations. I was so emotionally touched when I first moved in, that it took some time to accept that I was living in such a beautiful space and surroundings. I met Guy through an interior designer working on the remodel of my home. A couple years later, I contacted Guy to do another remodel on my home and add a guest bedroom suite, rear deck extension and infinity pool & spa over the hillside. Working directly with Guy turned out to be much better. His design was excellent and he made many improvements. His 3D modeling and renders were very helpful to visualize the design and it gave me a very good idea of how it would ultimately look when the construction was completed. Guy was also very instrumental in resolving some issues that arose with the contractor. His experience and professionalism was evident and I will commission Guy again in the future if I endeavor another project.

I purchased an outdated tract home with intention of remodeling it. I wanted to maximize the ocean view, open up and brighten the dark rooms, raise the ceiling and update the overall design and layout. Getting started, I was at a loss of how to deal with the dark kitchen, dining room and living room. Guy created an open concept floor plan for a large kitchen with an island under the existing skylight and a peninsula overlooking the dining area and ocean view. It was a much larger kitchen than I had in mind, but as a result, the kitchen is bright, open and airy, and the ocean view is fantastic. The kitchen is the center piece of my home and functions beautifully for entertaining as well as daily meal preparations. I also wanted to raise the ceilings dramatically. However, the Homeowners Association has guidelines limiting the height of the house to protect ocean views of other homes behind mine, and this created a problem. Guy came up with a roof design that maximized the new ceiling height within the exterior height limit without jeopardizing the long-term function of the roof drainage system. He provided many other architectural solutions as well for a comprehensive remodel design. The remodeling came out very nice and I am very pleased. I’m an interior designer and have built 6 homes for myself and at least 15 for clients. Guy was very instrumental in the design and solving issues that arose during the remodeling. So, when I speak about Guy Cass, I am coming from an informed and knowledgeable place. Guy is the epitome of integrity and dependability. He does what he says he is going to do and in the time frame he promises. Creatively, he is one of the best space planners I have met. He is great to work with as he is enthusiastic and obviously enjoys this work. His experience in this field is evident. You can count on him stay true to the nature of a design motif and avoid frivolous or irrelevant details. I enjoy him tremendously and look forward to working with Guy many times in the future. I had always admired Guy's obvious architectural talent. Working with him for two years while building our family's dream home helped me realize he is also an artist. Many people confuse these qualities, but it is paramount to find an architect with these skills if you want a home that is connected to your soul. Rarely do I take direction from others when it comes to design, but I was always confident in Guy's visions. It is impossible to stand in front of our home and not receive emphatic complements about its presence. Having lived in North Santa Monica for three years now in this home, I would say the public's enthusiasm for the property seems to be cross-cultural, as well as gender and age diverse. Strangers are not shy to share their feelings about the home and I must admit that I enjoy the feedback. I could not recommend an architect with more enthusiasm and faith than I can for Guy Cass. We will most certainly see more great designs from him I the future, so I would get on board now before the rest of the world discovers him.
