Hardin Creek Timberframe

Booneshine Brewing Company hired Hardin Creek Timber Frame to build a covered patio for a new tasting room and restaurant. Sid and his team quickly pulled together a design that was perfect for the space. Being a mile away from the Hardin Creek shop, we were able to see the team preparing and milling the timbers for the project. The structure went up in less than three days and the finished product is beautiful. We are proud and honored to have worked with Hardin Creek and we would hire them again in the future.

The guys at Hardin Creek did an outstanding job on my large Timber Frame project. They are dependable, professional and reasonable. Any issues that arose ( they always do in a construction project ) were resolved fair and in a friendly manner. I could not have been more satisfied with the result.

I have recently had the opportunity to work with Sid and his team at Hardin Creek on three small projects this year. I am working on a significant renovation for my new home and I was looking for custom wood pieces to accent the architectural design of the addition. I could not be happier with their creativity, imagination and love/knowledge of wood. Hardin Creek Timberframe designed and implemented the reworking of a laundry room into a 1/2 bath and laundry room space. The year prior, Hardin CT renovated my home inside and out. I 100% recommend Sid Green and his staff. They are trustworthy and do great work. Their design team (Sid) is very creative and thinks out of the box. They suggested and implemented ideas in which I would not have thought. I love my home thanks to Sid and his crew.

They finished my basement for me. Overall I was very pleased with the work, and Sid had some great, creative ideas about the space but also made sure we got what we wanted, which I appreciated. He never tried to get me to spend more money on things I really didn't want and was understanding when we changed some things around or added some things. They were great people to work with and gave us a wonderful basement space that we have enjoyed immensely. (People have a hard time believing it's a basement because it was done so well.) As is inevitable with things like this, it took quite a bit longer to finish than the time frame given. Even though I had built in quite a bit of a time cushion, it still wasn't completely finished when we needed it. However, he did work incredibly hard to make it livable for what we needed it for, so even though it wasn't completely done, we were able to use it as needed and I appreciated that. There were some communication challenges at times when I had stated that I wanted something and he didn't remember, or he didn't go back to his records to find out information or missed things. I'm not quite sure what happened in those instances. While he was typically really good about fixing things that weren't done the way they were supposed to be done (brief example: we had shelves put in that were really, really rough and weren't supposed to be, and very quickly after that they were replaced with smooth ones), there were a few smaller details that were kind of left undone or not done the way they were supposed to be at the end of the project that I just gave up on. Overall we are pleased with the space and the experience; however, we would have appreciated some stronger communication and attention to details at times. I would suggest making sure that every detail is written down so that both parties can have a very clear understanding of expectations on all items.

We engaged Sid to design and manufacture a beautiful 22'x27' douglas fir timber frame pavilion and we couldn't be happier! The quality is absolutely amazing. We had the machine hewn, scallop finish. As for the process, I provided pictures of similar structures. After a few phone calls and 3 plan reviews, we had exactly what we were looking for. It says alot about Hardin Creek's knowledge and experience that we were able to complete the project without ever meeting face to face. Communication was excellent and everyone is delightful to work with. Thank you Sid, Scotty and Hannah. We are already planning our next project.

We had Hardin Creek replace two exterior walls of Poplar bark siding which was damaged. They came out promptly to give us an estimate, and arrived to begin the repairs when they said they would. The installers were courteous, professional and neat. We are very pleased with the finished job and highly recommend Sid and his people.

I am a retired builder who is currently remodeling my log residence by extending my dining room through a log wall onto an existing porch. The log home is hand hewn with lathe and mortar chinking. There is not a perfectly plumb wall in the house as the logs vary in size. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous about cutting a 12' wide by 7' high hole in my log wall. My wife and I visited Hardin Creek to gain some advice. We were greeted by the a most pleasant and generous owner, Sid Greene, who spent precious time discussing the work without any promise of any business coming his way. He arranged for a NC licensed engineer to come to our home and provide his expert advice. After we discovered that the project was doable, we then approached Sid about purchasing bark siding and crafting some 8x8 hand hewn posts to support the log header in the entrance to our room. I asked Sid if he could also make some hand hewn white pine window trim. He suggested that I bring him the logs that we already cut out and he could fashion me some already aged, chinked trim by running the logs through his bandsaw. Clearly, Sid could have just sold me his product, but as a truly honest business owner he elected to give me a more reasonable and appropriate option. Additionally Sid and his employees have offered priceless advice about the correct way to install the bark siding. Hardin Creek has earned my highest recommendation as a business that is honest, passionate about their products, and dedicated to quality craftsmanship

Hardin Creek was recommended through my contractor. Sid and his guys did a FANTASTIC job. They constructed our timber frame front porch and back deck. They provided 2 beautiful mantels -- one an old hand-hewn timber and another one with live edge and a burnt detail. They installed a one-of-a-kind rhododendron railing inside the house and provided all our exposed timbers on the inside as well. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

Working with Hardin Creek Timberframe was an exceptional experience. My husband is A custom homebuilder and very particular, and this job on our mountain house was beyond Our expectations. Living in another state and absentee owners would usually present many Challenges, but Hardin Creek was always available, providing pictures of the progress, and Going the extra mile for us when anything at all was needed. The quality of their work Surpassed our expectations, and their suggestions or new ideas proved to be everything And more than we had hoped for.
