Eric and his team are outstanding. They are meticulous with the work they do. Jobe, Juan and the rest of the team arrived and worked so hard on my drainage issue. They were thorough in checking what existing drains worked and installed new french drains. I was kept abreast of progress and issues. Eric was thorough and stopped by each day several times to check on progress. They did a great job of watering my lawn as they put the sod back down and cleaning up each day. Eric even assisted resolving an issue with a line that was cut to verizon when I could not get through. I highly recommend for patio and drainage work.

Would highly recommend Hardscape Artists LLC to anyone looking to have retaining walls and/or decks installed or replaced. Eric and his crew were absolute professionals during the whole process. They treated my yard and project as is if it was their own. The took excellent care to not disturb my yard as much as possible, even with a week of steady rain. Once the walls were installed, my lawn was repaired to look even better than when the project started. All the Hardscape Artists employees were very friendly and extremely hard workers with lots of knowledge. My retaining walls are absolutely beautiful and I am confident that the walls will last for decades to come.

Our patio came out amazing and we get tons of compliments. It looks like it should have always been there. Project progressed quite slowly and materials were delayed a few times, so it was a little stressful, but the result is nice and they were able to easily accommodate a couple of add ons. Would have liked a little more detailed advice/education/attention on working with us on types of materials, but again, ultimately we are happy with the result. Hardscape artists did an amazing job on my blue stone patio and we could not be happier!!! Perfect attention to detail including cutting the driveway to make the patio flush. And the finished product was a beautiful mix of different colored blue stone in a geometric pattern. It exceeded our expectations by far. Plus, the crew (family business) was so friendly. We had Hardscape Artists come to our home and put in a paver patio and concrete pad. We love the finished product. Its looks amazing! The job was completed in a timely manner once started. Good communication throughout the process. If I had any questions or requests while the job was being completely, I was able to get my answers and requests completed quickly. Eric and his crew did a fantastic job rebuilding a 100+ year old retaking wall that was failing. They removed each stone, numbered them and rebuilt them in the exact same location as they were originally set, making the wall look as it did when it was originally built. They take a lot of pride in their work and take the time to do the job right, They might be slightly more expensive than other hardscapers but well worth the cost if you want the job done right.

Hardscape Artists did a wonderful job in the fall fixing issues with my paver patio. The patio installed by previous homeowners was sinking in several spaces and not sloped to drain correctly away from the house. Eric was able to do a temp repair to help until the team could arrive in the fall. Communication from both Eric and Karen is outstanding, they keep you informed along the way and answer all questions. Eric stops by the worksite frequently and provides advice to the team and met with me to keep me abreast of progress and recommendations. They were even able to do some extra work I added at the last minute. I highly recommend their attention to detail and work of the team.

I would 1000% recommend this company. They were great with communication. Weather pushed the project start a week later then projected. The office kept us informed the entire process. The workers were polite and kept the project area clean every day before leaving. We had a slight hiccup in the design. Not Hardscape's error. My wife is very particular. Eric assured my wife that they would do whatever she wanted to ensure she was delighted with the project. At the end of the project we couldn't be happier with the end product. Eric and Karen were absolutely wonderful to work with. Renovations in a small South Philly yard could be a mess, but they kept everything as professional and clean as possible. They were very communicative with supply chain issues and weather delays, and we always knew what was going on. The work they did was amazing, and I would like to use them again for our front steps.

We had a concrete porch and walkway replaced with hardscape pavers and are extremely happy with the final results. The wait time for the project to get off the ground was longer than expected but the completed project exceeded our expectations and made the extended wait worth it. Eric checked in almost daily once the project was underway and made sure the job met his high standards. The workers were friendly and kept us informed about what they were going to do each day. They were meticulous and came back and corrected little areas that they felt needed to be tweaked. We also had them repair a few areas on our patio (installed about 12 years ago) where pavers had settled and where large tree roots pushed pavers out of place. These repairs were done so well and the patio looks as good as when it was first installed. We would definitely hire Hardscape Artists for our next project.

Eagle Green earns five stars all around! I had a good feeling from the very start because I received a reply to my initial email to them in less than one minute's time. No exaggeration! Eric came to our home within a few days and quickly helped us to come up with a plan for our patio. He came back two days later with a written proposal. He assured us that it would be ready in time for the summer and didn't disappoint us, even working over a rainy Memorial Day weekend to accomplish that. His work crews were always on time, were very pleasant, and happy to answer any questions we had. What a transformation within five days time! Eric and Karen were always in touch by email or phone along the way. We always got a reply from one of them within the hour or at the very least no later than the end of that same day. When looking at stone, we were handed a list of recommended contractors. We contact almost all, but only two responded for an estimate and Hardscape followed through. We could not be happier with the crew, the professionalism and the beautiful end result. The owner was on top of the project; he would text me to let me know their start date, when there was a delay with the delivery of stone (due to the recent snow storm), what they would be doing each day. The owner took the time to meet with us to ensure we were happy with the direction they were going with in laying of the stone. And the crew ensured the walk was covered overnight, protecting it from the snow and cold temperatures. They truly care about their work and it shows. We are extremely happy with the entire staff, crew and of course the new walk.

Ed and the team at Hardscape Artists did such an amazing job on our back porch in grad hospital. They not only made it beautiful/aesthetically pleasing but also evened out the concrete so that water didn't pile up in our back porch. The project was to have three tree planters along a hill across the front of the house. Not only was there a hill but the sidewalk and street slope down across the front. With this being the front focus for the house I was nervous. After a long search for a pro that didn't try to sell me a big upgraded project, Eric was the only one that listened to what I was searching for, and provided very constructive suggestions. Although the work was delayed due to scheduling and weather, the crew did an excellent job and didn't try to rush things through. I was more interested in having the job done right rather than getting it done. The crew worked hard and ensured all of the cap blocks were mitered and flush. I believe that the price was excellent for the work done. If you don't want a hard sell, are not impatient, want high quality work, and want someone that can give good recommendations for the project, Hardscape Artists is a great choice. The only negative I can think of is that there could have been more communication i.e; when work would resume i.e. scheduling. I love the end result and have had great comments from the neighbors.

We hired Hardscape Artists to demo an existing patio and install an expanded patio with pavers and add a fire pit with a bench. The install took a little longer than anticipated but that was partly due to the record amount of rainfall we received. Eric and his team made it up by helping me out with some other tasks that would’ve cost me a good bit of money had he not been so kind as to offer his assistance. In the end, we got a great value for our dream patio. It was professionally done and looks amazing. Our family is going to enjoy our outdoor space for a long long time thanks to Eric and his team.

Eric and his team were consummate professionals. The finished product exceeded our expectations. Almost as important, the team was incredibly responsive and considerate of any and all questions along the way. Our project entailed removing an existing composite deck and replacing with pavers. Additionally, we asked the team to build a horizontal wooden fence + Fire Pit to frame the space. Complicating the process was the fact that we live in a Philly row home where the only access to the back yard is a narrow breezeway… Other contractors either balked @ the project entirely or presented expensive proposals due to the access challenges noted above….Eric and his team went in the other direction. They worked towards solutions rather than presenting the problems. We exchanged numerous drafts and considered numerous alternatives as we worked around the pros and cons of cheaper or more expensive components of the project. We had a budget in mind and Eric was a great resource to figure out where we needed to spend money and where we could save a few…. Overall, I was very impressed with the team’s skill and even more impressed with their accessibility and willingness to adjust on the fly. The flexibility was very important as projects often look one way on paper and another once they are built out. Bottom line, we would recommend Eric, Juan and the rest of the team to our closest family or friends in need of hardscaping. Feel like that is the highest compliment one could offer….Thanks guys.

I hired this company in October 2015 for a two-week project to replace a raised patio, wall and steps. Ten days into the project, all work stopped and the excuses started - sick crew members, behind on other jobs, knee surgery, etc. Each time I contacted the company to see when work would resume, I was promised "firm" completion dates. This happened on multiple occasions, and the work was never completed. I even paid an advance in November and was promised in writing that all work would be completed by the next day. No one ever returned, and four months later, construction debris still blocks my driveway and garage, and the main access to the house remains unusable. The owner twice requested that checks be made out to him personally rather than to the company, a huge red flag. I filed a civil claim and received a default judgment. I now have to hire another company to partially demolish this company's work (due to deviations from contract specifications) and finish the job. Beware of this company and the owner's false promises! I was left with an eyesore, and I endured emotional and financial hardship at a time when my family was already dealing with the sudden death of an immediate family member.

Hardscape Artists LLC repaved our walkway. The project was completed promptly and results were great. The walkway looks beautiful and the recommendations they provided were very helpful. They kept the work area clean and were always available for questions and concerns. Great price too!

Project - Build retaining wall - 3ft high on one end and 7ft on other, 60 ft long. This was not cookie cutter retaining wall, this was cantilever wall which was supporting lateral load, pressure from the street. This job required 4 ft wide and 3 ft deep footing, not a standard house footing. Even access to the property was very limited. Eric, owner of the company did the work professionally and on time. I was really happy with the outcome of the project.

Took the money, never completed the work. I hired this company to build a retaining wall. A contract was signed, with a starting date (June 1st) and a completion date (June 8th), and penalties kicking in if the project is late by more than seven days (June 15th). June 1st came and went without sign of the contractor. Upon prompting them, I was given multiple reasons, ranging from the weather, to that I may need a permit (I didn't), to their finishing some other projects. They showed up on June 6th and promptly hit a sewer line with the excavator. I was assured it would be fixed the next day. After four days it was fixed, in a couple of hours . Over the next few days workers showed up sporadically to complete the dig by hand and lay down rebar for the footing. The last time work was performed was on June 13th, at which time they requested the second installment (another 1/3) of the payment. Since then, I was offered multiple reasons (workers quit, the next day they were fired, then they were hired again, another day the van broke down, several hours later the van was fine, but the workers didn't show up, etc..) and multiple new timelines for completion. A letter from my lawyer and additional ten days to complete work was completely ignored. As of Aug 1st, I still have a precariously supported deck, a gaping hole along the property in which water accumulates, and am still out of 2/3 of the project money. Hardscape Artists breached the signed contract on multiple counts.

We had Hardscape Artists put on a beautiful paver patio last year. We emailed them about a month ago about just some small maintenance issues we'd had with some stones coming loose from our sitting wall. Within a couple weeks, they sent their foreman out to take a look. Not only did Eric's team come out free of charge to fix those loose stones for us, they noticed while they were here that a few pavers were slightly off-kilter so they fixed those as well without us having to even ask. Honestly, this has been a fantastic experience. Many contractors seem to disappear after the project is finished but these guys have been great. Hardscape Artists recently installed 140 lf of new wooden fencing on my property. This was the first phase of a residential project, which will include the demo of an asphalt basketball court and construction of an outdoor cooking area with new blue stone and brick barbecue pit. The Owner, Eric Tyson, has been extremely professional since the first time he showed up to do an estimate, and his team is punctual, courteous, and most importantly, hard working. The area where the fence was installed had major grade changes, and required a quite bit of demo work, but everything turned out perfect!
