Hardwood Artisan Purchases We are the proud owners of four fine pieces of furniture built by Hardware Artisans. They are: a dining table and set of six chairs; a formal writing desk; a computer table with storage cupboards; and a tall-back bungalow rocking chair. The computer table and cupboards were specially designed for us by Steve Doyle of the Bethesda store, who came to our house to discuss our requirements and make careful measurements, which were then used to build the furniture according to our specifications. All the pieces were handcrafted using carefully selected hardwood and were finely finished with natural stains. The dining table is masterfully handcrafted so that the pedestal legs do not get in the way of the chairs or guests. The table leaf is imaginatively concealed and opens up without any difficulty on its well-designed rack and pinion mechanism. The furniture artisans and shop personnel at Hardwood Artisans are to be commended for their fine workmanship and care for their customers’ interests. We are always proud to show our guests the wooden label attached to our furniture that states: “Bespoke furniture made for [our names] by Hardwood Artisans, spring/or fall ___year.” We have been completely delighted by our furniture and our pieces have always been admired by friends who have come to our house. Hardwood Artisans created for us several rooms of built-ins, including 3 wallbeds, 1 desk, many shelves and cabinets, a bathroom vanity, and a bathroom linen/storage closet as part of renovating our entire condo unit. Our unit is an unusual shape and has very few square angles. So everything had to be custom made and designed to fit. Hardwood Artisans did a fantastic job and paid attention to every detail. Their sales professionals are extremely helpful in planning the project, and the whole team is responsive to the very end of the project. The furniture is stunning, the workmanship is unparalleled, every detail is perfect, and we get glowing comments from all of our guests. To top it all off, the cost is quite reasonable when compared with other options. I highly recommend Hardwood Artisans without any hesitation!

We returned from a long oversees assignment and were looking to replace furniture throughout the house that had seen better days. Went to Hardwood Artisans based on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed. The entire staff took our basic plans/design and made it even better. Every room is like a work of art and we, as well as our visitors, are amazed at the style and quality of the workmanship. Hardwood Artisans built in a very large bookshelf/Murphy bed wall for our lower level and it is spectacular! Beautiful, extremely useful and backed by their commitment to make it right when small adjustments were needed. HA also built a lovely fireplace surround for an adjoining wall. We think the lower level is the prettiest part of our house! (We also have purchased ready-made items such as a small desk for a bedroom and have found the same excellent level of quality.

We have bought furniture from Hardwood Artisans since 2000. Our first piece was a dining room set for six. A few years after purchase we bought a larger home and wanted another leaf and two additional chairs. Because of HWA's unique manufacturing processes they were able to match our set exactly and today the entire set looks like new. Oh, and did I mention it was a floor model that was seven years old which makes our dining room set 23 years old? And it remains beautiful and durable. Since that purchase we've bought a side board, a TV center, a coffee and end table set, the Artisan Entertainment Library, a office desk and credenza, and also had them build a custom fire place mantle of mahogany and black wood that's absolutely beautiful. HWA builds furniture for my life and for generations to enjoy.
