Hillary Baden Designs

Hillary is a master at understanding the client’s needs and interests and creating a design vision to meet both. There is no one better at finding the perfect color palette and integrating it across the entire house. She assisted us with our (almost) full home renovation (kitchen, all bathrooms, dining/living) and it was totally transformed. Hillary’s passion for what she does is so refreshing. She listens to your ideas and thinks of not only how a space looks but how it functions for your family. I really enjoy working with her and appreciate her energy, her beautiful sense of style, and let's get this done attitude. She partnered with a great contractor and their teamwork made for a timely, precise, detailed project that finished exactly as scheduled. She's created such a seamless team. I highly recommend Hillary Baden Designs for any project small or large!

Had our kitchen redone during the pandemic which added an additional degree of complexity. Hilary was very consultative on the front-end, gauging our budget, preferences and dislikes. We worked together on a plan that came together over roughly 3 months. Overall, relatively happy with the results. 2 things to watch for: 1) we agreed on a budget. She had an assistant/office coordinator (who has since left) that was our main point of contact. Apparently our communications with her weren’t being passed along as the project went forward so we blew right past our budget target and still had a pretty major problem with the floor that we didn’t have sufficient reserves to fix properly. Issue was with the material (not the work), but there was no Plan B when the initial material had to be removed. We ended up settling on cheaper flooring that we replaced within 2 years when we redid all the floors in the home. 2) HBD selected the contractor, but when the paint on our very trendy green cabinets started flecking off, she left us to work with the contractor and Sherwin Williams to solve. After literally months working with him, we threw up our hands and gave up. The spare gallon of paint he left for the inevitable spaces where the paint flecked off ended up being the wrong color (last picture). I will be paying again to have the cabinets repainted after 3 years sometime this summer. This wasn’t the only problem with this contractor and I was left working with either the ineffective office person or the contractor themselves. Felt like Hillary was already off to the next project. Overall, happy with our kitchen for the most part, but ended up being a lot more hands-on than I anticipated. Still waiting on our promised binder telling us how to maintain all of the newly installed countertops, sink, etc. To sum it up: still happy with the design aspects of the job, but project management was a real problem.

We are so grateful to work with Hilary. We were not entirely certain what we wanted to do with the space and she made it painless to create a beautiful Kitchen and mud room.

Hired her for renovations. As you can tell from the acetone stains on the deck, repairs on drywall and shower door repair it went well. Lots of things missed or jobs redone due to little monitoring that was promised. You’ll notice she claims warranty was out a shower door shouldn’t fall apart in just over a year, however the warranty per her contractor was 30 days only and per that same contractor if I wanted a better job should have paid him more his words not mine before he hung up . The small fee for him to come out was 200$ why would I pay him a fee for poor workmanship. She doesn’t address any of the other poorly done work or damage because that would require actually being able to fix it.

I never thought my home could be so beautiful! Hillary and her team did such an amazing job learning our style and making our dreams a reality. I have so many favorites in our kitchen/living remodel. The built in cabinets and shelves dramatically changed the look and feel and functionality of the space. The updated fireplace is gorgeous and the new floor has people literally asking if they can take pictures! We love our new space and are so thankful for all HBD did!

Hillary’s design is fresh and freeing! She helped us capture our house “modern cottage”...I didn’t even know that existed before she showed me and it’s everything I want for my Texas ranch! love it and get compliments all the time!!!!!

Hilary and her team did an incredible job with our master bedroom. She caught our vision for a very large room very quickly! She was very professional and went above and beyond what we thought! Our bedroom is now a sanctuary and we don’t ever want to leave!!

Hillary Baden did a phenomenal job on our music studio recording room. She understood our vision and was able to take 3 different opinions and make us all happy. She stayed on budget and completely the job quickly! We highly recommend her!

Hillary was so wonderful to work with for staging our home. She has the ability to walk in to a space and can see it’s potential. We are excited and eager to work with Hillary in the further!!
