About Us

Hinterland Architecture Studio is an architecture practice working on both practical and research work. Following the definition of “hinterland” the office maintains a critical view, focused on what lies beyond what is visible or known. Founded in Porto, Portugal in 2018 by Filipa Figueira and Tiago Vieira the office develops a broad range of projects, from small-scale interior projects to urban master plans. Parallel to the traditional architecture practice Hinterland Architecture Studio is actively developing research projects that range from event production, book editing and exhibition design
