Wooden Wonders

I got my hobbit house in April 2013, so it is over ten years old. It is doing great. I stained it at the beginning as they advised, and in 2019 I found a little dry rot in the wooden trim in the front. In 2020 I repainted it, and I recheck it every year, and it has held up great. I know they recommend staining, but I feel paint protects the wood longer. I also put corrugated aluminum on anywhere it touches dirt (it's up to a hill side so sometimes dirt rolls down along the back and sides). I basically make sure that all of the outside is protected from soil. The roof is great, it looks great, the interior looks great, and it is still my backyard haven. I use it as my home-away-from-home so I can go on "vacation" or go "camping" in my back yard. I love it.

I bought their chicken coop and so did my little sister. I have had it for a few years now 4+, the craftsmanship is outstanding. Great family business. We are saving up for the kids playhouse next now that we have a little one.

I live in North Conway and had my wooden wonder champion chicken coop delivered this past august. I love it ,my chickens love it and everyone I show it to tells me they would love one just like mine. I hope to get more chickies next spring and get another wooden wonders coop to raise them in til they are big enough to forage and run around with my chickens I got this spring.Very few things I purchase have made me as happy as this chicken coop has, its perfect - Billy Cuccio

I bought my "Lightfoot" coup many years ago. Not only is it the most unique (coolest) coup anyone has ever seen, the quality construction is tremendous. It is a piece of yard art, built like someone cares about what they built, that happens to house my wonderful chickens. It was worth every penny and more.

I definitely recommend Melissa and Rocky if you are Looking for a GREAT chicken coop. I absolutely LOVE my coop!!! They were VERY impressive with their ability to place the coop in the apace that I had prepared.

I had the chicken coop modified for a duck house and it worked well. They only use it at night during the winter. I have gotten so many compliments on this duck house.

Rocy and Melissa graciously invited us to display our 26 birds in their beautiful, new, spotless 6x8 Champion coop during the Fair. They saved our birds' lives as the weather was so unusually hot, the animals were heatsick in the cages in the barn. This "Taj Mahal of coops" gave them cool shade, natural ground to dust themselves, hardware cloth sides to prevent unwanted poking by little fairgoers, far lower stress, and excellent security from predators and thieves at night. I enjoyed that we had ample space to stand and move around in caring for our animals. There were no sharp edges nor rough wood anywhere in this beautifully crafted piece. This was the first fair we haven't had to spend hours baby-wiping poop from the crevices in our chickens' feet as when confined to coop cages, they're stepping and laying in their waste all weekend. Wonderful! absolutely wonderful. Amazing work. Most of their designs are big, bigger for my small city back yard... so i asked them if they could come up with something smaller and what do you know? they had already started a smaller design. the quality is amazing, the inside is literally nicer than some homes i've been in. The windows come out so you can have fresh air, or you can opt to have them in for a cozy atmosphere. Our hobbit hole is still, two months later the talk of the neighborhood. the adults are jealous they cant fit their bodies inside (although being a small person i myself fit quite comfortably in it) and the kids go crazy when they run in and out of it. i still have to get around to painting it though! i just think its so beautiful its almost too hard to decide what colors to use i don't want to ruin it! The only negative I can think of is come delivery time I was not informed ahead of time that I needed other people to help unload the house. I felt really bad that I did not have anyone to help i would have gathered troops if need be.However, because they are so awesome they figured out how to do it themselves and it was unloaded within two hours. They were both ridiculously friendly which we are not used to here in city of arlington and kept me up to date on what was going on while it was built. I would refer them to anyone although i'm almost hesitant because i like having the cool play house on the block ;)

Wooden Wonders built a hobbit-hole inspired permanent shop for use at a Ren Faire in Massachusetts. It is phenomenal in every detail! The owners, Rocy and Melissa are great folks who really listened to what I was looking for. Highly, highly recommended!

We are delighted with our Hobbit Hole. Rory was very willing to work with us when we said we wanted a moss roof to fully integrate our HH. His crew was professional and timely.We are extremely pleased with the entire experience and now have a delightful playhouse for our grandchildren.

Wooden Wonders has been on my radar for over a year and I finally purchased oceanfront property on Great Was Island in Beals Maine - first thing to be put in was a Hobbit Hole! Melissa and Rocy were prompt, courteous, on time and professional. I made the correct choice to have on site set up with rock and log planter boxes on each side so that I could have a compete cottage for my vacation. My hobbit hole is perfect! five kids and I slept and played in it for our lovely vacation. It is warm and cozy and watertight. I can't more highly recommend Wooden Wonders. In fact, I will likely put in a second hobbit hole next spring, just can't decide if it should be a sauna or a bath house since this is a seasonal recreational property.
