HomeBuilt completed a major renovation of my 1,000 sq. ft. basement, including waterproofing (French drain and sump pump installation), structural work, the installation of large windows, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a fireplace with built-in shelves. From the structural work to the final finishing touches, everything was completed professionally and with great attention to detail. HomeBuild recently completed various improvements for me that included considerable deck repair and power washing, front porch power washing, and painting, and some interior repairs as well. The deck improvements involved removing and replacing many boards and screwing down all the boards that the home builder simply nailed resulting in many boards bending, twisting, and coming loose. In addition, they did a thorough job of sealing the entire deck not just on top and sides but underneath as well with a beautiful natural looking sealant that they suggested. Not only was their quality excellent on everything they did, but equally important, Rafael's communication and responsiveness were second to none, and his crew kept me informed on status and anticipated completion, and their rates were very reasonable! The attached pics - three "Before" and three "After" - show the incredible improvement HomeBuild made of my deck. I highly recommend HomeBuild for any repairs and / or major improvements and additions that you are considering.

We moved to Raleigh in 2023 and purchased an older outdated home. Rafael and his crew did a wonderful job completely updating our Raleigh home! Highly recommend!

We contracted Homebuild for several projects which included converting a section of windows to a large open door and adding new windows to a wall that didn’t have any. Homebuild delivered a professional and courteous experience throughout the 3 weeks worth of projects in our home. They communicated regularly with us, showed up on time every day, cleaned up the area they worked in at the end of every day, and completed all projects on time and within the budget agreed upon. I even heard the inspector tell them they went above and beyond the minimum spec required for our framing. We will definitely use them again for future projects.

Overall we were pleased with their work and it passed inspection. A $3,000 line item was missing from the original quote and HomeBuild came back to us, requesting that we pay for what was left out from the original quote. We were also surprised that they requested payment several times before the project was completed. The agreement clearly states a deposit at the beginning of the signed agreement and full payment at the end of the project. In the future, payment timelines should be more clearly defined in the agreement so both parties know when to expect payments.

From our initial consultation in February to completion on April 4th, every phase of the project proceeded exactly as scheduled. The crew arrived promptly at 8 AM each morning and worked with remarkable efficiency. The quality of materials exceeded my expectations. They used premium wood for the structural elements and top-grade screening. Even the concrete footings were finished with a decorative edge I hadn't anticipated but absolutely love. 2024..Met HomeBuild when Realtor friend recommended him. A delivery truck had plowed into our garage and destabilized the entire front. The owner assessed damage, worked with our structural engineer and proceeded with all county requirements, ordering materials and then completing the work with his team of skilled workmen. A few months later, I called for the installation of kitchen cabinets and we continue to be excited about the finished product. I won't call anyone else but HomeBuild. Their communication, timeliness and thoroughness make each job complete with our total satisfaction. We intend to have a long relationship with this trusted contractor. 2025....September. Floor installer said the hall was squishy. Call HomeBuild. Owner went under the house, took photos. Termites from 20 years ago had left the joists looking like lace. Owner developed a plan and several weeks later all new support joists were in place and floor stabilized. We wanted to retreat for termites and the owner of that company came out from under the house and exclaimed. "Wow. Who did this work? They did it right!" This week HomeBuild helped us out with a new toilet replacement and repaired the floor of our kitchen sink cabinet that warped so badly after a leak last year, I couldn't pull the pull-out out. Ugh. HomeBuild to the rescue. Within hours the projects were complete and we're excited to move back in with the cleaning supplies. I only want and need HomeBuild.

We had a great experience working with Rafael and Frank. Our project was relatively modest (roof overhang modification), but they treated it like a much larger project with a lot of focus and attention. They identified an additional roof issue and were able to add that onto the project and quickly address it. The gutter sub-contractor had some issues, but Rafael stayed on top of it until it was right. I think the best compliment I can provide is that I will absolutely hire them again when we have another project. Once you find a good contractor, it’s like finding gold.

Frank and his team replaced my existing gutters, down sprouts, installed gutter guards, moved drainage from the down spouts to 15 - 20 feet away form the house and installed 20mm vapor barrier in our crawl space. They completed everything on time and to our satisfaction. Frank and his team were awesome, very happy and will hire them for any additional projects.

Rafael and his team did a tremendous job with the doors at the entrance of our church. The were old and had some broken trim and rotted wood. Homebuild team was very agreeable to working outside the hours of church mass. They covered everything up so no paint would roll over to other parts of the entrance. I met Frank back in February after my rental property had an extensive fire damage (the house was totaled, only the framing and roof was left). He was recommended by a friend who had a lot of great things to say about him (as a devout Christian and as an general contractor). I immediately noticed that he was one step above the competition! He proposed a few small modifications that completed refreshed the look a boring semi-open kitchen to a beautiful high-end open concept floor plan. I then met Rafael a few days after to discuss the overall scope so he could start working on the estimate. He was very polite and professional, but the thing that was remarkable is how detail-oriented he was. Their scope of work and estimate was not the least expensive I received, but certainly the most comprehensive and well structured by far. As most things in life, you get what you pay for….and after seeing the end result (not to mention the peace of mind and being stress-free for the duration of the project) I believe that I got a great deal! The project was divided in 15 weeks and payments were scheduled accordingly. It was great to see every Friday how the money that was paid the previous week had been spent. The difference in the progress from one week to the next was impressive and encouraging. Construction was never at a standstill. Moreover, even though there was a lot of work and traffic around the area, the landscaping was left intact. They did not cut corners! That was one of the main reasons I chose HomeBuild. The project ended on time and within budget. My wife and I could not be happier!

Always responds to texts and phone calls. He never gets upset about issues out of his control (Duke Power) he just deals with it. When we decided to renovate our house we diligently reviewed contractors on various sites to ensure we found someone reliable and excellent. We reviewed and obtained quotes from 15 different companies. There was a tremendous variability in the sense of reliability, price and trustworthiness of the people we met. Rafael at HomeBuild was second to none in terms of his honestly and candour. His transparent model of pricing and the fact that we met every Friday morning to walk through the project before proceeding with next steps in the work gave us a sense of confidence and transparency. In an otherwise unregulated market where you are scarcely able to verify any work done or what you are being told, finding someone like Rafael is priceless. Our full gut job on our main floor was followed up the next year with the same on our second floor and we evidently chose him again. The quality of his finishes is impeccable and his workmanship was excellent. He was also on site himself everyday and finished the project 2 weeks early which is unheard of. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to our closest friends and family and could not be happier to have worked with him.

HomeBuild did an amazing job of fully gutting, and renovating our old semi-detached house. I like to consider myself a very organized person, but Rafael and his team were somehow (!!!) more organized than me throughout the whole process. What I appreciated was a walk through inspection every Friday of the progress being made, issues that came up and more. Their expertise made this massive investment for us so easy, and worthwhile. Rafael is an expert at what he does. I trusted everything he did in the entire process. From the first meeting and his proposal (which was so detailed!!!) to the final walk through - he clearly put his heart and expertise into our home. He worked with our engineer (as we had structural issues that needed fixing) to ensure the scope of that part of our reno was going to be properly approved by the City. He kept US on schedule by providing floor samples, paint samples, counter samples, whatever we needed (and gave us a deadline to choose ha). He picked up appliances we ordered, our bathtub and more. He sent us pictures of the progress, kept us involved. He went out of his way to make this renovation a really great experience. Oh, and he did it on time, and on budget........ A year in we had a minor electrical issue in the basement (which wasn't a part of his reno). He had the electrician who worked on our renovation at our house within only a few hours. He stands by his work. I hope to work with HomeBuild again (maybe it's time to do our basement, put on a mud room....). He will be my only call in the future. Marissa
