Oliver and I feel so grateful to have had Houseplay Renovations to carry out our first home renovation.The Hoboken apartment we were purchasing needed a complete remodel before we moved in. We contacted few contractors prior to meeting Houseplay Renovations. It was really clear to us from our initial conversation that Houseplay Renovation’s approach and style stood out from the rest. They listened carefully when we described our vision for the space and our timeline for moving in. They were very responsive, their design choices were spot-on, and they worked quickly to get the project started as soon as possible after closing. Throughout the process the team (Tamara, Veronika & Niall) was very responsive and supportive and all our questions were answered promptly. The design phase was thorough and detailed so that the building/renovation phase went smoothly and efficiently. We're so excited and thankful to have a newly renovated, modern, and sophisticated space to call our first home. (We like the kitchen so much that sometimes we feel as though we're making breakfast on vacation in Paris!)

As an interior & architecture photographer, I get to see a lot of renovated apartments and homes between New Jersey and New York. I'm always impressed with the quality and attention to detail that Houseplay Renovations puts into every project, even when homeowner choices are made for budget reasons, everything gets treated with the most care and respect. From the care and consideration that goes into personalizing the design process to the detail that goes into how a piece of tile or wood panel are laid and fit into each space, they have cultivated a team that cares about attention to detail and to getting the job done right. I don't hesitate to recommend them for anything from a creative new twist on a spa-like bathroom or open floor kitchen to an entire renovation of a historic home. They love to find creative ways to produce high end results for every client they work with.

Niall and Tammy were fantastic from the initial consultation and bid through the completion of the project. Everything came in on time and on budget. They will be my first call then next time I have a project.

We worked with Houseplay on a large renovation project: complete renovation of master bathroom, kitchen update, and finishing the basement. We are extremely pleased with both the results as well as the process of working with Niall and Tammy. The project was on time and within the budget we set, even with a few unexpected things popping up. They were extremely professional, responsive, and respectful of our home and family (we lived at home during the renovations). I would definitely work with them again.

I purchased a 4-unit building in Hoboken that needed considerable work. My idea was to remodel the 4 units and keep them as rentals. But the company that was recommended to me and that I hired was Brunelleschi Construction. The project went over budget 100% and the work was not done up to par. When the building was finished Oct 2012 we had to put the units for sale to pay for the increased cost. Two weeks later Hurricane Sandy flooded our basement unit. This was a blessing in disguise. Brunelleschi had done a terrible job and the unit was awful. It had sofits protruding like I had never seen. My realtor recommended Houseplay, and I cannot say enough about Tammy and Niall. Their work was on schedule and on budget. When we had a change order it would be $400-1200, not the $4000 weekly average that I suffered with the initial construction. I would have loved to have used them for the initial project but the architects that I hired were who recommended contractors.
