HOUSEWORKS

We have worked with HOUSEworks on two projects, the first was a bathroom remodel in San Francisco, the second a major remodel of a house in Mill Valley. We were extremely satisfied with both projects, Jeff and team did an outstanding job of understanding what we wanted, translating that into a plan that fit within our budget and delivering on it meeting all expectations. The team was also very responsive and supportive if we ever had any issues, even some time after the work was complete where we had a problem with an installed product (not the fault of his team) and he promptly had someone come to the house to fix it. Would highly recommend for any design/build projects, very high quality work, no corners cut, extremely professional and we would (and probably will) work with them again.

Our first project with Houseworks was a new homeowner nightmare, extensive undetected dry rot 8 years ago. They were great at keeping us informed of the changing scope of work and developing and executing the repairs and did a wonderful job of restoring the façade of the house to its original state. We contacted them for our major kitchen and bathroom remodel based on their past excellent performance. We had ideas and with owner Jeff Kann’s guidance we finalized the plans and began the remodel. The crew from top to bottom are professional, competent and responsive. They kept us informed of the schedule of activities and cleaned up every day. They were very considerate and kept the parts of the house not involved in the remodel as clean and untouched as possible. They know people to call in for consultations, e.g., a structural engineer for earthquake retrofit and a consultant for a greywater system. Houseworks also has strong partnerships with quality vendors and subcontractors. All of their recommendations were great. The budget was the on our high end, however there were no surprises and we are very happy with the results. We would highly recommend Houseworks and we will use them for any future work.

I have worked with Jeff and his Team for a number of Years and they are very dedicated to their Projects and their Clients Needs. They go up and beyond the expectations of clients and this makes things, not only easier on the Clients but on the Subs that are working the Project. I hope to complete many more projects with Houseworks and would recommend them to Anyone.

HOUSEworks is an excellent general contractor. They work with their clients to provide realistic and build-able budgets for their remodels. As a designer I have worked on several projects with them, and the client responses are giddy with excitement as they see their project unfold before their eyes from preliminary schematic drawings to walking into their new kitchen or bath. I can't wait to have these wonderful spaces photographed!

I've worked with Jeff Kann and Houseworks on several occasions photographing finished projects. Houseworks projects always stand out to me because of the high level of finish and detailing. Joinery is tight, transitions are smooth, surfaces are level and smooth and exactly as they're intended by the designer -- makes these spaces a joy to photograph! The workmanship really comes through. Additionally, Jeff and his staff are excellent to work with. I'd be happy to shoot for Houseworks again.
