I've hired John on 2 separate occasions to paint ceilings in my den (with slanted/very tall ceiling) and 2 bedrooms. I did quote around to a few other companies, and John had offered the best price. All the rooms had ceiling cracks that he had to repair prior to painting. The repair work looks GREAT, the cracks are now unnoticeable and the paint job is also well done! John is super friendly and enjoyable to work with, polite, and is always willing to help outside of the job (e.g. tips and tricks, painting methods, paint recommendations for DIY, etc). I feel comfortable asking him any questions and he always explains what he plans to do. He pointed some things out to me mid-job (instead of covering/hiding it) and also patched some holes in my walls even though that wasn't a part of the original job! His quality is great but also the little things he does are so appreciated! I'll be hiring him for any future paint work I need. :)

I had john paint my living room, dining room, and hallway. John is a super nice guy and a total pro. I had numerous cracks and chipping throught my house and he brought in his trusted partner (also named john) to do the plaster repair. Awesome job. Both of them did a perfect job on the space. I also had john paint a built-in for me which came out fantastic. I basically left them to do their work each day, and they let themselves out after the work day. Two great stand-up guys doing great and honest work. Very fair price quote and I would definitely hire Howie's Painting again!

After John Howard (owner of Howie's Painting) painted five rooms in my house, I felt like I had a new home! His work is excellent! After looking through a lot of painters, I finally found Howie to finish my basement by painting the ceiling and the floor. Beginning from the quote, he was very detailed and never pushed for a sale. He took his time and considered all possible paint combinations, and answered all the questions I had. The job itself took about 3 days and Howie helped me move furniture before the project began. Afterwards he covered my entire basement floor and walls to paint the ceiling, and then, painted the floor. The paint job came out AWESOME! I couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend Howie to anyone that needs a thoughtful and detailed oriented painter. I'm positive you'll love the work he does!

We've done multiple projects with Howie's over the past couple years, and have always been very happy with the results. John is professional, thorough, and friendly, and he does high quality work. He is also willing to put the non-paint "finishing touches" on a job, such as replacing outlet covers, window coverings, light fixtures, etc. We would recommend Howie's to anyone who needs a painter.

What an excellent experience we have just had with Howie's Painting. The job that he and his crew did was done promptly, on schedule, reasonably priced, and with such attention to detail. We hired John/Howie to paint our house's exterior. We had several companies come by the house to take a look at the job and give us estimates. Howie puts you at ease from the outset, as he is very approachable and is happy to answer your questions (however basic the questions may be. This was our case, as we are lay people to painting) and give thoughtful advice and suggestions about the project at hand. In our case, we selected a bold color with custom trim requests. At no point did we feel that Howie or his crew were hesitant about it or not up to the task. They met our project with their own excitement. We were very impressed by the extra time he and his crew took after hours on their own time to research our specific type of house siding to address a particular concern about them. He even called a colleague whose expertise is siding to get us more information. After letting us know our options and what to expect, he left the siding decision to us without pressuring us one way or another. If you have to be away from home at work while the job is being done, he and his crew take extra care. At one point, there was a question of a possible smell of gas, and they contacted Consumers Energy to make sure all was ok. We did not have to take off from work to come home and address the issue. Thankfully, there was no gas leak anywhere. The theme you notice in this review is that Howie's Painting goes the extra mile. We are planning to hire them to paint our interior second floor whenever we get around to it. The enthusiasm Howie has for the job shows. It was pretty cool seeing before and after pictures posted on his company's website and seeing that other people via their comments noticed the quality of the job as well. That demonstrated the excitement and care he takes in his work. Have John out for an estimate when next you have a paint job to do at the house. We highly recommend you hire them too. You won't be disappointed! Also, leave some cold refreshments in a cooler outside if it is an exterior job in the summer. I'm sure they would welcome it, and it would be a small gesture for the fantastic, honest, and timely job you will have done at your home. Thanks Howie and crew!

Howie's did a great job for a fair price. We hired John and his team for half of our main floor. We were so happy with the work that we had him continue to paint most of the rest of the floor and we're already looking forward to him completing the basement when we have a remodel project completed in the near future. In addition to the painting, he replaced some crown molding flawlessly. Very clean, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and will use again.

I needed a few small projects done for a rental property. John was very professional and did a quality job in a timely manner. His pricing was very fair. I would definitely hire him again in the future!

My family room ceiling was damaged as a result of ice dams this past winter. John of Howie's Painting determined that there was no need to totally replace the drywall, a much more expensive repair, that other contractors had suggested. The repair and repainting of the entire ceiling was completed in two days. The result is a perfect ceiling with no evidence of any damage which also blends into the rest of the ceiling.

Really nice job, done quickly during a busy season. Had exterior and interior work done - very practical recommendations, does the job the right way, and fair price for the work done. Would hire again.

John/Howie RULES. He did an incredible job painting several rooms in my Ferndale home (which were formally various colors of the rainbow). Not only is his work flawless and reasonably priced, but he's very knowledgable on the subject and was more than willing to suggest quality brands and pick up paint on my behalf. He was also immaculately clean and never left a speck dirt or mess when leaving for the day. I instantly felt comfortable with John and trusted him to do work when I wasn't home - so much so that I gave him a spare key so he could come and go whenever he pleased. I was beyond pleased with John's work and constantly get compliments on it. I would hands down highly recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing paint job!
