It was a long process - a major remodel and total regrading of the lot to deal with major water issues. What I really appreciated about John and his site manager, Frank, is that they really tried to lower costs with simple alternatives and not compromising quality. The crew was great, disciplined, and worked efficiently. There were delays in the process, but these were related to the city holding up the permits and then the horrible rain that we received in 2018 and not any failings on the part of the company. I would definitely recommend Hurst Homes!

Mary and I actually hired Mandy to sell our townhouse, and then have Hurst homes build our new dream home for us. Mandy was efficient and super friendly to work with. She had our house sold in about 1 month after putting it on the market. Amazing to work with and would highly recommend her. I have to say that Hurst homes was very easy to work with. I have built 3 homes in the past, and it was the most stressful and time consuming time of my life. After the first two homes, I swore I would never do it again. BUT, working with Hurst homes on this home turned my entire view of building a new home around. Both himself and his team of professionals were highly responsive, communicative and compassionate towards changes that we made as the building progressed. We actually enjoyed the progress. I am one who honestly would call every two days for updates, show up to the home to check on progress and make changes along the way. I was respected and treated like I was the most important person on their list of jobs. They invited constant communication, the subs were extremely friendly and were always asking if what was done was what we really wanted. Even after the home was built, we had a few minor issues that is par for the course. The real trick here was that they already had been paid in full, but were still responsive to getting everything fixed as we wanted them. I can't say that ever happened on my first two homes. Jon made it clear that if anything went wrong, to call him, and I put him to the test. He instantly followed up and worked as quickly as possible to get everything remediated. Try finding that in another builder! Hurst is also fairly priced. To find honesty, integrity and a personal touch, along with follow-up after the house is done is very rare. I would personally tell anyone thinking about building a home to speak with Hurst Homes. He has my information and I would be glad for him to provide you with my number for you to call me directly. I will even show you the home he built for us and go over everything that they went above and beyond to do for us.

We recently contracted Hurst Homes, LLC, to construct a master bedroom / bathroom addition for our 45-year old home. Mr. Hurst and his team worked closely with us to design the addition to our specifications and budget. They were very flexible with our changes and guided us through the process. Even though the weather was rainy during much of construction, the Hurst Homes Team completed the work on time and maintained an exceptionally clean work site. Mr. Hurst and his project manager were easy to contact and if we had any questions, they were immediately responsive. We found the Hurst Homes Team and subcontractors to be very knowledgeable and professional. We were most impressed with their quality of work and craftsmanship. Both of us love the moldings in the new addition that compliment our colonial home. Hurst Homes built our custom home in River Glen and my wife and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They really do build dreams! The great thing about working with the team at Hurst Homes is that they made us feel like we were their only client. Throughout the design phase Jon patiently guided us as we considered the pros and cons of our own ideas, he really took the time to listen and explain. Mandy did a wonderful job of helping us choose the right combination of flooring, cabinets, fittings, etc. The house looks fabulous. We made many impromptu visits to the site while the house was under construction and I was really impressed by the dedication and skill of the workers. We had set a fairly aggressive construction schedule, but the team easily met the goal. We were kept informed every step of the way and there were no surprises. We had high expectations and Hurst Homes exceeded them! They did an excellent job building our covered patio and we are delighted with the result. Our architect, Mrs. Sabina Weitzman, had worked with Hurst Homes on another project and was impressed by their professionalism. From the initial interview with Mr. Jon Hurst, to the final inspection, the process went smoothly. Each team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and produced work of exceptional quality. We felt that they were true artists and genuinely cared about their work. The project manager, Mr. Frank Roth, was in communication with us daily, kept us informed of the work schedule, involved us in all relevant decisions, and made sure the work had been completed to our satisfaction. In spite of rain delays, the work was completed in a timely manner and within the expected budget. We give Hurst Homes our highest recommendation and will certainly call upon them when we have another project.

Congratulations! You've found a wonderful custom builder in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area. So did we. Jon Hurst is a true Virginia gentleman who is a man of his word. Building a detached 24x30 garage to complement our home that already has an attached 3 car garage was a challenge, but he did it. Hurst Homes exceeded our expectations on every level of professionalism while building a fantastic building.

I turned my house project around from conception to move-in in under one year, including choose and buying a lot. I got personal service and constant contact with the key workers in the company. My vision was embraced and became a reality within the budget I had. Happy in our new home.

Jon, his staff and subcontractors just completed our third project in two years and we are thrilled with the results. This 3rd project, the finishing of a 1630 sq. ft. basement was done on time and within budget. Jon and his group are easy to work with and are willing to collaborate on new ideas. We definitely recommend them on your next project whatever the scope. We will use them in the future on any of our new projects!

After 10 bids and contractor interviews, we decided to go with Jon. He was willing to work with us to get what we wanted and stay on budget. Great communication the entire project. Always answered questions and kept us informed of the schedule. He completed an 18 x 22 addition, with a crawl space and small deck in just under 90 days, as promised! Its been almost six months since the project completed, and we have not had to call him back to fix a thing, not even a nail pop! You can't go wrong with Jon and his team!

Hurst Homes is the best! We got estimates from several contractors but many were slow to respond, or blew the top off our budget, and we became frustrated with the process of ever getting our kitchen remodeled. Then came Hurst Homes and we were off and running! They came in, gave us an estimate, allowed us to choose our options, saw our vision and made it happen quickly! We couldn't be happier. The crew was respectful, knowledgeable, talented and kind. I would recommend them (and already have) to my real estate clients and our friends and family.

We hired Jon and his company to do our two bathroom remodels. He was very good about listening to what we wanted and making that happen! The process was very easy. He kept us up to date every step of the way. His standards are very high and if something doesn't seem or look right he fixed it right away. He was a pleasure to work with and we would hire him again!
