We have completed our new home, and could not be happier with the architecture, styling, and setting. Hyrum's creative ideas, his willingness to work together to create what the owner envision is superb. We didn't take advantage of all of his skills, things such as interior architecture and design, simply because we wanted to keep costs as low as possible. He offers a broad range of design ideas, but we liked his sense of the traditional.

Hyrum is a MUST in making decisions. He designed our building and then worked with us to get it within our budget. He helped us put unique characteristics into our building that makes it stand out from the rest. I wanted to be very involved in the design but I could never make my mind up until consulting with Hyrum. When ever I could not make a decision, I would take it to him and he would have amazing ideas for me in seconds. He is great to work with and really cares about the outcome of the project.

When we began the process of remodeling and building onto a 100 year old home, we were overwhelmed. We had a plethora of ideas that we wanted to incorporate but didn't know how to pull them all together. Hyrum was a dream. He saw our vision and was able to use our ideas but also pull from his knowledge and creativity and present us with ideas that we hadn't thought of. So many times during the planning process of our home I'd say to my husband "I need to ask Hyrum before we make this decision." He was wonderful to bounce ideas off of. He has an eye for beauty, was easy to work with, and delivered a gorgeous product. We love how our home came together because of his designs. We are so glad we found & used him!

Hands down, Hyrum is one of the most helpful, talented and kind individuals I've ever worked with. I wish I could give him 10 stars! Honestly, It's truly been a pleasure working with him. As soon as I saw Hyrum's home, I was sold. I loved his sense of space, light and style. Working with him to design our own home was a pleasure. We were impressed by his creativity and the variety of ideas and solutions he had. Seeing our desires turn into reality was exciting. I asked for a home with lots of light and I don't have to turn on any lights during the day. He added many details that add charm and interest as well as functionality. Hyrum is a great architect that has mounds of experience. He can help you to design your custom home and add all of the goodies that will make it pop. His attention to detail and ability to see the finished project helped our project that was a little tricky due to an odd shaped lot. Hyrum Bates was awesome to work with for our custom house plans. He gaves us so many unique ideas with our plan. He took the time to take us to some of his projects that he had done and we were so impressed. We told him what we were looking for in a modern, contempary plan and he just went with it and it came out exactly like we wanted. He was so easy to work with and was so accommodating with any changes we made. He is very reasonable in price and we couldn't be happier with the way our plans turned out. Hyrum was not only wonderful to work with, but his vision for our exterior home remodel was exquisite! We are beyond thrilled with the results. We have a regular stream of drive-by's now who stop to admire the "new" house on the block. Love it!

We worked with Hyrum McKay Bates from July 2012 - May 2013. He was incredibly professional and we felt like he had our best interests in mind both in design and budget. He was respectful of our ideas and budget and presented several options when it came to interior and structural design. This was our first experience building a home and we felt like Hyrum took our ideas, along with many of his own, and created the home we had in our minds. He initially looked over our existing plans and made some changes that we feel completely changed the overall look of our home. We are so glad that we followed his suggestions. He drew several exterior and interior sketches that have made our home both personal and unique. Hyrum was extremely reasonable in price for the amount of ideas, sketches, feedback and general construction knowledge that he has. We feel very confident recommending his firm to anyone and would definitely hire him again.

We were very happy with the professional services provided by Hyrum. Hyrm listened carefully to our needs and our goals for the remodel. After understanding us, he created a vision which achieved our goals. The process was not easy but Hyrum worked patiently as he explained the steps needed to achieve our goal and the reality of construction. Hyrum always presented alternatives for us to consider. There was a very effective hand-off between Hyrum and the contractor with Hyrum always willing to work through construction details. The end result was a WOW! project...a conclusion which greatly enhances our enjoyment of the home and the environment provided for our family. I would highly recommend Hyrum.
