Jay Schadler Studio and Gallery

Saw a beautiful three panel tree painting he had done for another client and absolutely fell in love with the same tree. So while working with my budget came up with an amazing what is now our family tree for our home. Jay is a wonderful artist and a wonderful man to work with and I'm very very happy and honored to have one of his pieces proudly displayed in my home and it will be for many many years.

Brilliant. Captivating. Beautiful. These are only the first three words that immediately come to mind when thinking of the art of Jay Schadler. I have 2 of Jay's works hanging in my home: "Bow & Stern" and a diptych I call "Yellow Cab Chasing Sun In Forest". Each forms a dramatic centerpiece and focal point for the room it graces. "Bow & Stern" is a masterwork of composition and color that takes fragments of a larger seaport scene and reveals an arresting, entirely new view of common objects in a familiar environment, bringing to light the stunning beauty of simple lines, patterns and colors. "Yellow Cab" is a stark study in incongruity. A taxi cab, seemingly frozen in the latticework black and white abstract of a thick forest. The only color being the cab and in the second panel, the blooming yellow orb of the sun. Is the taxi stuck? Or, is it racing? Or is it chasing the sun? Or is it seeking light. The incongruity of this work, to me is what makes it a brilliant piece - one that I can study over and over again and take different meanings from each time I view it. Jay is a phenomenal visual artist who uses lens and paint to create the unusual from the usual. With his tremendous ability in the juxtaposition of objects, color and detail - Jay makes breathtaking art out of "ordinary". Jay's work is fascinatingly varied, but invariably rewards the viewer with his uncommon ability to see the world in ways that one cannot expect. What more can one ask of art?

I've worked with Jay at ABC TV for about 30 years. As a correspondent, there was no one more creative and hard working. He was always taking pictures wherever he was sent, beautiful pictures taken with an amazingly creative eye. I've watched as he opened his studio and taken it to where it is today. Jay is a true artist, taking beautiful pictures and turning them into more beautiful pieces of art. Anyone would be proud to hang one of his personalized creations on their walls. He gives personal attention to help the buyer decide what piece of artwork would look best in the right location. I would recommend his studio and service to anyone who is looking for creative and unique pieces of art to hang in their home or business.

Jay does beautiful work. I have several of his prints and a very large piece on which he somehow prints one of his photographs on a large canvas and then paints it to look like a painting. This particular piece is a mural that hangs in our foyer and is approximately 3 ft. tall by 6 ft. long. Everyone who comes into our foyer stops to look at it ( it is a scene looking back to an old section of our city, over an inlet of water) . Everyone who sees it says that they "love it". It is very beautiful and we love it too. Jay is very easy to work with and very accommodating.

Jay's work is both powerful and thought provoking. I have several of Jay's pieces in my home. Jay provides not only the art but also assists is placement and hanging. I cannot say enough good things about the Jay Schadler experience!

American Pain Institute first started working with Jay Schadler Studio and Gallery to provide artistic installations to our office in 2013. We are a pain management practice and our patients are people suffering from severe and debilitating chronic pain of all types. As such we wanted to create a soothing atmosphere where the artwork would help ease pain. Jay Schadler Studio and Gallery provided artwork that eases the anxiety associated with pain, distracts patients from their pain, and provides a soothing environment for both patients and staff. We recently purchased a townhouse in Portsmouth NH and our living room has 10 ft ceilings. We stopped by Jay's studio to consult on the best way to add a piece of art to create a welcoming space. Jay asked us to send him a picture of the wall for the new artwork and he would add a number of possibilities for us to review. Through this process we found the most unique piece of art that is clearly a statement piece. Once we purchased the new artwork Jay graciously did the installation. Bottomline taking a baseball term Jay "HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!"

Jay is very talented and I have seen his works in local establishments. He was able to make a piece of art to fill a large wall and I was able to have input into the project.

I purchased a piece I had seen in the studio (some months later) online. I need not say I was moved by the work itself, but Mr. Schadler drove to my home west of Boston and left it for me at no charge. The work itself as well as the service and kindness was amazing. Thanks Jay.

The diversity and creativity of Jay's art is amazing. His pieces are bold, serious and amusing, too. I almost bought the taxi cab driving through the forest, but chose Zebra Moon, instead. The hardest part of buying this art is choosing which ones to compliment your room. Jay makes it easy with a computer photo program that places his art on your wall before you purchase. Please at least check him out. You'll be amazed. And what is even better is the personable, warm artist behind the art.

Jay Schadler is an incredible photographer and artist with huge gallery of awesome images. His attention to detail is evident in all of his work, his images are very complex.

Jay has amazing eye. His gallery work is truly stunning and his images make a statement in any space. I have the pleasure of seeing Jay's pieces in several homes I've worked on--they often "make" the room. I highly recommend a visit to his gallery in Portsmouth--you won't be disappointed.
