I was fortunate my architect suggested I try calling JD Building and Remodeling after several failed meetings with numerous contractors. Justin understood my vision right away and was patient with me as I learned the building and remodeling process. We worked well together; he was open to my ideas and was honest when they weren’t very good, but he also went above and beyond to make the good ideas happen. I truly appreciated his flexibility and creative approach in finding the best solutions to the many hurdles we encountered during the remodeling of a home that was difficult to modify. Justin and his team completed and extensive renovation and addition project with beautiful details that even I didn’t think of, or realize would be done in just 27 weeks; all while navigating winter weather, material shortages, long-lead times, and numerous examples of major price increases that we didn’t account for in the initial planning process. It wasn’t easy, but Justin and his team transformed our modest 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch into a gorgeous 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a new great room addition, new two-story oversized garage; new laundry/mud room, updated kitchen, updated hall bath, a newly constructed bath, an enlarged and remodeled master bath, new windows, new siding, and managed and oversaw the installation of a new roof and gutters, all new plumbing and fixtures, new HVAC system, and pretty much all new electrical and fixtures. During the challenges of the COVID pandemic, no one can deny this is an amazing achievement. I attribute this to Justin’s work ethic, skills, and commitment to the highest quality - they never missed a day no matter what the circumstances. I would highly recommend JD Building and Remodeling for any size project. Justin cares about the end product and is committed to working with his clients.

Justin and his professional crew built a family room addition on our older home. He worked well with the designer/engineer. The finishes in the room are top notch. I had added several items to the original quote, and the prices for the extra work were reasonable. The job was completed in reasonable time inspite of material delivery delays due to Covid. Justin is a pleasant person to work with, he exhibits great flexibility and provides a top quality product.

About a year ago we set out to build our dream home. Finding the perfect contractor during a pandemic wasn’t the easiest task. Luckily Justin from jd building was referred to us and we hired him. Justin nailed it, literally! Our home came out amazing. Justin was great I feel he went above and beyond to make my wife and I feel part of the build but not overwhelmed with decisions. I highly recommend him as he kept the project on time and on budget.

I saw other reviews and thought I was getting someone professional and competent, but my experience was anything but that. His sub improperly installed a toilet creating overflow, leaking up through a newly installed floor and a bacterial nightmare, but instead of immediately fixing the problem, he refused and said I would have to deal with it and that he didn't want the liability in the event it failed a second time! This was on a Friday afternoon before a major holiday weekend and almost 7 hours after having been made aware of the issue. His sub created the problem and he refused to reseat the toilet while we waited for one week with a partially covered sewage hole in our floor waiting to find a plumber who wasn't busy enough to reseat the toilet properly. The smell was awful. JD could have called his plumber and sent me the bill, but refused to do so. Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. They 'pocket-holed' some molding that was done incorrectly which caused severe bulging through the wood. When he was told that I wouldn't accept the damaged molding, he used it anyway. Now we have to pay to have it replaced. He failed to oversee the protection of wood floors in a room in my house in which they stored and constantly moved construction equipment, tools and materials in and out. At the end of 3 months, the floors were so badly damaged that they needed to be sanded, stained and poly'd but he refused to do it. When given a list of unresolved work that had to be completed, and summarizing numerous issues outstanding, he became very angry and walked off the job, but not before making a horrible scene in my driveway and becoming verbally abusive, vulgar and scaring me. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND this man. I have bought, sold and renovated close to half a dozen homes around the country whose remodeling budgets were $30,000.00 to well over $500,000.00, and I have never had a contractor be abusive and disrespectful. The men and women I have worked with have come back to help me with additional odds n' end projects, after completion, for years and have always been professional. I was shocked by Justin's outburst behavior and refusal to be accountable. Treating a retired woman with such explosive, inappropriate behavior was frightening.

Wonderful experience start to finish! The entire team is compromised of true artisans and the craftsmanship is beyond compare. I designed my complete kitchen renovation with Justin's help. Any question I had was thoughtfully addressed, he was open to working with some of my un-conventional ideas like using wood from a family supply, I always felt that fulfilling my vision was a priority. Every element was delivered on time, with great care and attention to detail. I am so happy to show off my beautiful new kitchen and can not recommend JD building and remodeling highly enough!

I will not hesitate to hire Justin and his crew for my next home improvement project. The job was completed on time and within budget. The workmanship of the crew, Gene, Kevin and Brian were all above standards from what I've encountered with past contractors. They had great recommendations as the job went along and if I changed my mind on something, it was taken care of with professionalism. I am completely satisfied with my new sunroom addition.

Justin did an excellent job of remodeling our house. We had two bathrooms added and reconfigured the layout of our house. He did a great job of making sure everything fit and the layout works for us. Justin came up with solutions for any issue we ran into. He is easy to work with and very responsive when you have any questions or issues. Everyone that sees the house thinks the finished project is great. He coordinated with all the other contractors which made it very easy for us.
