Julie was an integral part of our project, a historical renovation of a commercial property in New Orleans. She was one of the first vendors that we hired, so her design sensibility was a part of every decision that we made throughout the 14 month process. Julie’s taste, creativity and knowledge were evident in every suggestion, along with her dedication to understanding our needs and goals. As with all renovations there were highs and lows, and Julie’s enthusiasm and optimism were unflagging. I recommend her highly and look forward to working with her on future projects.

I hired Julie and J. Latter to help design a restaurant/nightclub I opened in Los Angeles. I worked with an architect, but Julie was responsible for the color scheme; for selecting all fabrics, furniture coverings, carpeting, window treatments and other and finishes, for artwork and furniture selection. Julie is great; she has a great eye and sense of style, and was always able to work within my budget. She is very easy to work with, as are her various service providers. I felt like once she understood the look and feel we were going for, she made inspired suggestions; I couldn't have been happier with the outcome, and got great feedback on the final product. Julie is extremely creative: she actually helped create artwork for the space based on the theme of the restaurant, buying on ebay and at flea markets to create design elements that customers consistently commented on. I would use her again in a heartbeat, on a business or my own home. I feel she could take a project of any size (and budget) add a lot of value. I recommend her highly.

I am incredibly happy with the work Julie did on my house, and I'd recommend her without reservations. From paint color to furniture to window treatments, she was able to intuit my own personal taste ... and to then use my taste as a jumping off point to introduce me to a world of design possibilities I would have never considered on my own. Julie was consistently conscientious and responsible in terms of budget and scheduling. And she was also a pleasure to work with -- considerate, thoughtful, dedicated, easygoing ... and she's got two adorable children to boot. It's now been a couple years since Julie completed her work, and I still appreciate all that she did -- to this day, I often think how much I love my home and how comfortable and welcoming it now is (I'm not making this up). As an aside, pretty much everyone I've ever invited over spontaneously compliments her work within moments of walking through the front door ...

Julie at J. Latter was terrific! At the time we bought our 1920s home in Los Feliz, it had been rented out for several years. It felt dark and small. (Another person who had seen the house on the market referred to it as that house "with lots of little rooms.") Julie completely transformed the space, giving it a modern and open feel. Now, the openness and natural light are the first things people comment on when they walk into our home. Julie helped us with the bigger decisions (like paint and floor color), but what we most appreciated was her attention to smaller details-- like doorknobs and light fixtures. These smaller (less expensive) touches were the things that I (as a non-designer) never would have known to implement, and what really changed the look and feel of the house.

Julie Goldman is a pleasure to work with. A true collaborator with a fantastic eye, she was able to really hear and accommodate our design wants while also adding her own totally unique brand of whimsy and chic. Funny, smart, stylish and wildly creative, our home decor has exceeded all our expectations thanks to Julie.
