John Perkins Architect

John assisted us with designing an addition to our home. The addition extended our kitchen and our existing basement into a walkout. During the design process, John’s recommendations were extremely helpful. We were beyond pleased with the finished product. I highly recommend John for your project. I would not consider any other architect for any future projects.

John Perkins was recommended to us by several people. At our initial consultation John provided important advice on the building permit process, specific to our house, prior to hiring him. As a direct result, with permit in hand, we hired John to design plans for portico and garage eyebrow additions. During construction, John provided additional insight to the general contractor when needed. Overall, a great experience!

I can't say enough good things about John. He worked with me to ensure that what I envisioned in my mind, could become a reality. He was thorough, had great ideas and suggestions, was ALWAYS available to answer questions and assist with things like permits and questions from the town. John did drawings for our family for a pool deck. He was friendly, extremely professional and thorough architect . He dropped off the drawings even before the date he promised. He came by and went over the drawings to ensure that we understood them. Once they were submitted for the permit to be approved he followed through until he knew it was complete. John has brought great insight and creativity into designing our new addition for our house. John was able to incorporate what we required to have completed while making sure the designs carefully followed local and county building codes. From the first meeting we had with John, my wife and I were very impressed on how prepared he was about zoning regulations and how they pertained to our location and type of build. John created a great design for my home addition. His initial design was not the look that I wanted but then when I better explained the style that I like, his second design was exactly right. He even included things that I wanted, like laundry upstairs and a mudroom downstairs, that I didn't think to ask because I was unsure they would fit. It was a struggle for us to get the money together but he was efficient and timely with all aspects when we were finally able to do this.

We worked with John Perkins on two home remodeling projects. The first was in 2016 and was an extension on the back of our split level home. John was extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the entire process to make it as stress free as possible. He had great ideas and explained everything thoroughly and was always responsive to our many questions. Because we were so pleased, we hired John a second time for a more complex addition in 2020 and he has been amazing once again. He knew just by looking at our property and hearing our ideas that we would need a variance. Although we were hesitant to begin the variance process, John handled every aspect of it for us and we were easily approved! Without his knowledge and experience with the town board, we would not have been able to navigate the process. We are so so grateful to John for making all of our home remodeling dreams come true and he's the only architect we would trust with our home.
