Jonathan Hopp Interior Design

Jonathan brought our scattered home improvement thoughts into focus, starting with what we wanted, helping us to see what we needed, and inspiring us to dream of what we longed for. He brought it all together into a coherent plan, watching out for us at every step of the way, even translating for my wife and I when we were not “hearing” each other well! When surprises came, he went to bat for us. Nearly 5 years later, we cannot picture the house being any other way. The initial motivation for the project came out better than I could have anticipated. He was right on target with what we should add to enhance the home’s function and value. The extra things he encouraged us to dream about bring us joy daily.

My husband and I knew when we bought our house that we would need to update the original 1927 kitchen. When it came time to begin designing our dream kitchen, we were so lucky to have Jonathan as our designer! He was able to help us see past what our kitchen was (one long counter and not much useable space) to what it could be. Jonathan met with us several times throughout the project, working on the design and helping us compromise our various wants with features that would have widespread appeal if we ever decided to sell. Both of us being engineers, my husband and I had some crazy design ideas that Jonathan had to delicately help us re-imagine in order to save us from ourselves (thank you, Jonathan!). He was also there for us throughout the entire construction process, to help us see through the work being done to the end state. Our kitchen turned out even more beautiful and functional than we could have imagined. The colors, finishes, and fixtures that Jonathan helped us pick are the perfect blend of beauty and utility, and honestly, every day I stand in the kitchen and just admire it. It is clear that Jonathan's experience and level of professionalism helped us take our remodel above and beyond, plus he's just super fun to hang out with!

Jonathan was easy to work with and very creative in his design of our 1960's style galley kitchen. It is not only beautiful, but also more functional in it's layout. He was conscious of keeping the design consistent with our mid-century home. One challenge in our home is that we can't put lighting in the ceiling due to radiant heating coils. He is a lighting expert and came up with innovative ideas to enhance the lighting in our kitchen and adjacent dining/family room. When problems arose, he went to bat for us and helped us resolve the issue. We love our kitchen and would definitely work with Jonathan again. Karin & Dan Brown

We recently bought a brand new home with an unfinished back yard patio area. The space was challenging due to it's long and narrow size. We hired Jonathan to design the space where we could use 100% of the area for outdoor living which included a garden, fireplace & sitting area. Jonathan took the time to study the new home design and listen to our needs and desires. What he created was a contemporary indoor/outdoor living space that feels like you are walking into a beautiful zen garden that complements our existing home design. We appreciated his attention to detail and ability to make minor edits throughout the process that resulted in a space that went beyond our imagination! Jonathan is a true pro with a keen sense of design and the ability to listen and react in a timely fashion. Jonathan also brings a light, good natured attitude to the process which made it fun!

Jonathan did an amazing job transforming our home. Our friends and family couldn't belive it was the same house. The finishings he selected were perfect. I am truly pleased with his work.

Our small bathroom was in desperate need of a makeover. We contacted Jonathan through the company he currently works with and after taking the appropriate measurements, Jonathan gave us two different plans of what our small bathroom could become. One of the plans gave us more room when using the facilities and we chose that over the other. Jonathan was with us through the entire process, from his initial meeting with us to constant contact with the other contractors and the final walk through. His attention to detail and his professionalism was top notch. Jonathan made sure our bathroom looked as if it belonged in our house and not some remodel afterthought. We cannot say this enough, he did a great job with our project and we would not hesitate to obtain his services again if we need it.

Jonathan Hopp is without a doubt the finest, most knowledgeable decorator/designer I have ever worked with. I have hired over 10 interior design individuals over the past 30 years and what sets Jonathan apart from others, aside from his knowledge and design skills, is that he "listens" to what the client is interested in, their likes and dislikes, their wants and needs and what is important to them. Jonathan delivers to the client what they wish for; he makes the dreams come true. He doesn't install what he thinks the house should look like, but designs to meet and exceed the clients needs and wishes. Jonathan so impressed me with Phase 1 of my entire home remodel I hired him immediately when I was ready to start Phase 2. My home is my castle and Jonathan made all my dreams come true.

I have used Jonathan's amazing taste many times over these past 15 years. He has an incredible eye and a way of making every room look unique yet flow with all the other rooms in the house. Jonathan has done simple things from making a hall way where one did not exist to laying out a floor plan for the entire down stairs living space that we have we have worked on for the last three years as money has permitted (I am still following this plan as I am still in love with it). Jonathan helps me choose expensive works as well as basic pieces that can last for years. I get compliments on our home every time someone new enters - it makes me feel proud. I cannot recommend him highly enough, Jonathan is awesome!

My husband and I were overwhelmed with the task of remodeling our home until Jonathan stepped in. He knew exactly what to do and handled the project with grace and ease. We once thought of this home as temporary, but since Jonathan redesigned it we never want to move. He is a delight to work with -- an unusual mix of creative talent and practical sensibilities. From the interior designing services to the final details of coordinating with cabinet makers and contractors he created our favorite room in our home.
