In 2016, my husband and I were able to design and build our dream home. It has a comfortable, beach cottage feel with beautiful light hickory wood floors, and white wainscoting on some of the walls. We brought some of our existing furniture to our new home. We used Joy to help us pull everything together, finding the perfect fabric for some of the upholstered furniture, pillows, rugs,etc. I had no idea how difficult that task was! She has a classic, but fresh style, while incorporating our own personal desires. Furthermore, she helped us choose the perfect plantation shutters and blinds for our somewhat unique windows. She initiated the phone calls and emails to all the necessary trade people to get us the best deal possible, along with giving them the exact measurements and design details. Joy is a very talented interior designer, quick to respond and very professional. You will be so pleased you used her!

Joy is an amazing visionary! Although we had experience with extensive remodels, this project was our first custom built home from start to finish. We never realized how important it was to have a great, cooperative relationship with architect, builder, and designer. Joy worked wonderfully with all of us, and frequently pointed out things that all of us had overlooked! Specific I.D. drawings provided to the builder were key, and Joy's were always accurate and thorough. She was instrumental and involved in almost every step of the project; from floor plans to room elevations, door and window selections, ceiling and wainscoting plans, kitchen and bathroom design, electric plans, wine room design, light fixtures, finishes, furniture, rug and fabric selections, etc., etc.,; you name it. Providing her with pictures and lots of lots of questions, Joy encouraged us to be creative in our design choices, and very much listened to our tastes and goals throughout the process; all the while complementing our desires with her own opinions and expertise. We never imagined our home would turn out so beautiful and we are so proud of it!; we almost never want to leave!!!

Joy has an excellent sense of design and layout. Joy made numerous changes to our lighting plan prior to installation in which we did not catch. Those changes would have been made once they were installed, saving us thousands. Joy really is able to understand the style her clients are looking for and apply them to the project. Joy also used her many industry contacts to help get significant discounts on fixtures, art, and materials.

I am in process of building a custom house with Joy. I did not start with her until after we were in building process and my only regret is not working with her from the beginning design process. I never realized how crucial it was to have an interior designer. Joy is extremely professional and knowledgeable. She has given us so many ideas and has saved us a substantial amount of money in the process. From our interior elevations, electrical design, built in design (a huge bonus for kids rooms) to assistance with picking out materials, she helped us to build our dream home in exactly our style. I have been nothing but satisfied!

Joy Dabill is a talented and extremely professional interior designer. She helped realize what I had in my head onto my home design. She took me out of my comfort zone in order to evoke the sense I had been trying to convey unsuccessfully for so many years on my own and with other designers. She addressed all my concerns and dealt with contractors on my behalf. She was always available when I needed her. Best of all, she stayed true to the design of my home and gave it a classic yet fresh and youthful update. Her scope of work included a Den, Kitchen remodel, Sitting room (wine room), Dining room and Powder room. I plan on using her again on my future projects.

Her organization made it very easy for the trades to follow her plans. She worked seamlessly with our architect, builder, and trades.
