We built a new house on the Peninsula with JPM 2 years ago and could not be happier. The initial estimate was accurate, we ended on budget and on time. Any cost differences to budget were due to the choices we made during the process. We found the crew hard working and nice. The Subs are also good at what they do. We ran into a few issues during the build, as you always do with a project of this size, but JPM worked with us we always came out in a good place. If we had a construction related issue post the build JPM always remedied quickly. We highly recommend JPM and would use them again.

We give the highest possible recommendation to JPM. Ours was an essentially complete tear down and rebuild of a two story 5 bedroom / 3 bath house in a traditional craftsman style. John and Matt kept us on time and on budget. They interfaced with the city, all of the subcontractors, and all of the vendors so that we only had to be involved when and how we wanted to. We were so impressed with the quality of all of the subs and the level of craftsmanship in all aspects of the construction. John and Matt are very professional and always return calls in a timely manner. When we had to make quick or unexpected decisions they were calm and careful in the decision making. They rendered their opinions and provided much needed feedback when requested, but ultimately always deferred to our final wishes. On several occasions we realized that we wanted to change something from the original plans and they were very accommodating. We could not be happier with their work! We enthusiastically recommend JPM without any reservations.

This is the first remodel we have ever done and we couldn't be happier with the result! John, Matt and the rest of the JPM team were attentive, thoughtful and considerate of our vision, and worked with us throughout to ensure that we were actively involved in the process (which was important to us as newbie renovators). We had four contractors bid on our project and JPM was by far the most timely and organized in providing a clear breakdown of the budget and timeline for completion. JPM's attention and organization never wavered throughout the build ... any concerns or requests we had were always addressed quickly and professionally. The quality of work from the team was always high and if something wasn't quite right, John would have it redone without question. We also added several change orders (new driveway, new garage floor, full landscaping for front and rear yard etc.) and JPM incorporated them all in stride. For a process that involves displacing your family for the better part of a year and watching your house get torn down and rebuilt, we can't imagine anyone making it go smoother than JPM did! We would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone and call them in a heartbeat for any future remodels.

I hired JPM Construction for a major remodel of my house in Redwood City. We totally reconfigured the first floor and added a 2nd story of about 1,040 sqft. I spoke +/or texted with John (Owner) almost everyday throughout the project and working with his team was fantastic. Their pricing was very competitive and the quality of work is fantastic. Not only are my wife and I super happy with our house but John and his team were able to finish a week and a half ahead of the 9 month schedule. I highly recommend them for any sort of house remodel.

JPM did an excellent job on a master suite addition / remodel for us. We hired them after completing a first phase home remodel with another contractor that had been awful to work with. They were able to start the project relatively quickly and largely stuck to the timeline they promised at the outset. They worked quickly, even through inclement weather, and adeptly handled the inevitable minor mistakes/delays that came from other vendors that we had engaged. Their work also came in on budget except for modest changes that we discussed collaboratively, and the end product is very high quality. Best of all, both John and Matt are extremely easy to communicate with - very responsive via text and phone and always willing to meet in person when asked. They have also been responsive since project completion in addressing any minor issues that have come up. We were very happy with JPM, and they would be our first call for another new construction project or remodel (hopefully not anytime too soon!)

JPM Construction handled a full interior renovation of our home in the Aragon neighborhood of San Mateo in 2015. We found them on Houzz before beginning the project. The project involved excavating under the house to build an additional bedroom, as well as completing an extensive remodel in the upstairs of the house. There were complexities to the project such as moving our staircase and reorienting the kitchen. Both Matt and John were excellent to work with — professional both in communications and on-site presence. They completed extremely high-quality construction work, and I would recommend them highly for your remodel or new home build.

Matt & John beautifully remodeled all of our bathrooms. They were great to work with. They were professional , respectful, knowledgeable. Work was top quality, they met budget and deadlines. They were responsive and quickly addresses any issues and concerns. We are very pleased with the process and results.

John and Matt were, in brief, absolutely incredible to work with. We did an extensive remodel (essentially a tear down). They were professional, courteous, incredibly accommodating about meeting (John would meet us on site almost every weekend!), and very responsive to questions or concerns. Their work speaks for itself-- the quality is absolutely excellent. (Our photos are the San Carlos house on their page). They came in on time and on budget (anything over was based on change orders we requested). They are also incredibly honest. They passed any unexpected savings onto us and actually performed some "extras" that had originally been taken out (due to budget) at no additional cost. I give them the highest recommendation possible.

Substantial remodel of a classic Edwardian flat in Pacific Heights. Complete demolition and reconstruction of master bath and built-in closets with highest quality fixtures. Remodel of living room and dining room that involved removing a bearing wall and replacing with substantial foundation reinforcement and structural beam spanning width of building. Constructed island in kitchen. Various work done in other rooms ( laundry, family, powder rooms). Hardwood floors refinished. Painting throughout the structure. JPM was a pleasure to work with. They evidenced significant expertise and conducted themselves in wholly professional way. Deadlines were largely met and delays were always fully explained. JPM held weekly progress meetings. Project was completed on budget. The Mills brothers remained fully involved throughout the project and we're always timely in responding to questions and concerns.

I have worked with John & Matt of JPM construction on two residential remodels and I highly recommend them. As an interior designer, a high level of detail coupled with quality finish work is of utmost importance. JPM delivers on both points. John is on site every step of the way making sure the process goes smoothly and that every detail is perfect. They are easy to work with, good communicators and quick problem solvers. I look forward to working with them again in the future.

John and Matt, of JPM Construction, did an incredible job working with me as I started with a 'small' remodel that quickly became a complete remodel. From the start, we were on the fast track. A project this size on the fast track required great teamwork between JPM, the architect, and landscape architect. JPM is a team player with extensive experience in building a quality home. John moved the project along quickly and steadily by keeping his crew and subs organized and coordinated. He has excellent relationships with his crew and subs and understands how to schedule different parts of a project to happen in parallel. John kept everyone on task, working together everyday and effectively moving the project forward on a daily basis. John worked side-by-side with the architect, his crew, and his subs. He's a great problem solver, team player, and very willing to get his hands dirty. He does whatever it takes to get the job done. A project this size could have easily taken over a year. It took John 7 months. I also commend John on his attention to detail in building a high quality, aesthetically pleasing, and wonderful home to live in. One of John's unique characteristics is his true desire to build what the homeowner wants and most importantly, he wants to build a home the homeowner wants to live in. It's refreshing to find a builder like John! We are very pleased with our new home and highly recommend John and Matt of JPM Construction.

We worked with JPM for a partial home remodel in 2013. They added a new master bathroom and completely renovated the master bedroom with new hardwood floor, closet, and new French doors. The bathroom addition required repositioning of doorways in load-bearing living room wall, where they also replaced old sliders with new French doors. JPM also installed a new fireplace mantel in the living room and repainted several rooms. All the work was done on time (3 months) and within budget. John and Matt are great to have around, and their subs became like family to us during the construction (we didn't move out). We highly recommend JPM for excellent quality, great communication, and unquestionable work ethic. We'd love to work with them again in the future!

Overall: Outstanding- professional, delivered on-time & budget, extremely high quality, very easy to work with, and at all times did what was best for the project. Best experience we have ever had with a home builder. We did a complete tear down and remodel of our home with JPM. Early in the project, they did a great job helping us with value engineering and project planning. During construction, their team was professional, kept the site clean, and most importantly, built with a high degree of quality and coordination. Most of our neighbors told us to add a year to the schedule JPM provided. Yet they delivered our project ahead of their already aggressive schedule. (Even with us making several changes to the project during construction!) John from JPM was on-site every day making sure things proceeded on schedule. He was really great about finding hundreds of small details to improve (and correct) even before we noticed them. At all times, their standards were incredibly high for the work being done. The resulting build quality is exceptional. During the initial bidding process, JPM was not the lowest bid. Yet, it was detailed, accurate, and transparent. In the end, I am 100% convinced that the total project cost with JPM was lower than if we had selected another contractor. Without question, it was the best value for the dollar. We are extremely happy with the entire process and our finished home. JPM's support after moving in continues to be great. JPM did an incredible job with our project and we would highly recommend them to others.

JPM Construction, the Mills Brothers, Matt and John are a very hard working duo. Our complete demo and renovation of our apartment in Pacific Heights, San Francisco was no easy job. Their crew worked diligently in a 12 story steel and concrete tower with only two elevators for all of the demo and new materials. They abided by all of the building rules, various San Francisco permits and completed our project on time. They began the demolition on April 15th and they completed the renovation by July 15th. There was not one surface in this apartment that they did not replace other than the window frames which had to stay although some of the glass was replaced. Their tile work is terrific and the various subs they use are high quality. Our designer Vincent Léger of EAG Studios was the design architect/consultant and the Mills Brothers executed Vin's design elements beautifully.
