Jonathan Raith & Co. is a boutique building development company focusing exclusively in residential design and construction of fine homes on the island of Nantucket. While projects range in size from "jewel box" cottages to expansive family estates, attention to detail is paramount. We attribute the success of our projects to our team of professionals from architects to landscapers who share our passion and philosophy of building and design. Owner Jonathan T. Raith has been designing, building and restoring homes on Nantucket for 30 years. He worked alongside his father, an engineer, from a very early age and learned every aspect of the trade from framing to fine furniture and cabinetry construction. After completing his degree in construction management, he moved to Nantucket to begin his building design business. He has restored and worked on many of Nantucket's historic homes including the West Brick on Main Street and designed and or built many new homes and waterfront estates around town, the Cliff, Monomoy and Siasconset. He is well known for his meticulous attention to detail and designs that respect the architectural history unique to the island. While he has worked with local and off island architects, his own knowledge of the design process enables him to create personalized and comfortable homes for his clients. Jonathan takes care to orient each home with regard to the unique light that has attracted painters to Nantucket for centuries. He is in touch with each step of the process from initial client meetings to understand how they will live in their home, to the HDC, to custom interior details and final landscaping that will enhance the overall aesthetic of the property and it's surroundings.

I found Jonathan's work online and fell in love. Each space is swoon worthy. Alas my husband and I are on the "other" coast in Los Angeles. Jonathan was kind enough to offer assistance in finding a lighting fixture and he was as kind as could be!

I am delighted to be a reference for Jon Raith who built a beautiful house for my wife and me in Siasconset on Nantucket. We purchased it in 2005 upon completion after signing a contract when it was under construction. It took a leap of faith to do that without being able to see the final product. After doing our due diligence, we were comfortable that Jon would deliver what we bargained for based on his outstanding reputation, integrity, professionalism, and after seeing the quality of his work on another home. Jon more than surpassed our expectations. He is a master builder, a perfectionist, and an artist. And, he is a great guy. Our house still looks like new and we have yet to have a single problem with it. We love it and we still notice new fine details about it the more we use it. He thought of everything and built a very high quality home. We are happy to show our home to potential clients of Jon's so they can see his work for themselves. I highly recommend Jon to anyone.

Jonathan Raith Inc. has built and been involved in 3 projects for us from Nantucket to San Francisco. They are experts in their field. They brought expertise, imagination, craftsmanship, vision, and personality to each project. They made each a home with seamless perfection on all fronts!! On top of all that, they are a joy to work with. Highly, highly recommend!!

We have photographed Jon's work for several years and it is always a pleasure. The camera shows if there is a flaw and there aren't in Jon's work. Jon's homes are impeccably built and finished. Jon and B love what they do and it shows in their homes. The work is beautifully completed - nothing is shoddily finished, even if it doesn't show. Jon is honest and trustworthy. We were lucky enough to move into one of Jonathan Raith's spec homes in Nantucket, and we couldn't be happier. Every aspect of the home is demonstrative of the excellent design and superlative craftsmanship that Jonathan and his talented team have become known for. They are incredibly great to work with - extremely professional and responsive to client requests and concerns. If we were to build again, it wouldn't even be a question that we would work with this company, and would highly recommend them to anyone considering new home construction or renovation.
