Julia did an amazing job on our project! She provided both Architecture and Design services. It was a very collaborative relationship. Julia was brought into a gut renovation of a New York City apartment to assist me to create my vision. She created and executed a transitional toward contemporary molding scheme that is flawless. She is a pleasure to work with and most importantly wants to help the client create their vision. Her attention to detail is tremendous. She lays out every drawer and pull in the kitchen after a full discussion with the client regarding how they intend to use the space. My husband and I could not be happier with the results.

Julia completely transformed my kitchen and was a pleasure to work with. Her design managed to get every inch of space out of my tiny (84" x 86") kitchen. What was particularly helpful is that she provided options for cabinets/appliances at different price points so I could decide what was important to spend money on. Julia had deep understanding of the products she recommended and clearly explained the pros and cons of each. She was very responsive and incredibly efficient. My kitchen was finished on time and on budget and it is still a pleasure to walk in there every time.

Julia Metcalf provided a design for a complete kitchen renovation for our 30 year old kitchen. Her design and ideas were excellent -- exactly what I wanted! There were several challenges to deal with, e.g. to paint and reuse the existing custom cabinets, to bring light into a dark kitchen, to create more space and openness by tearing down walls -- all were handled with creative and effective design. Julia also worked with me to re-design or make modifications as necessary. The end result is beautiful -- it is a bright, modern, and functional kitchen! I recommend her services if you are searching for a designer and / or architect.

It was such a pleasure to work with Julia. She knew exactly the style we were going for, and listened to all of our particular needs while planning. We had previously worked with Julia on our Bathroom, and just as that time, her plans were meticulous. She suggested features we hadn't thought about, and her eye for detail helped pull the space together. She also had great ideas for sourcing objects!

Julia Metcalf prepared a beautiful design for remodeling our home office. She helped with the construction bidding and supervised the builder. She was up to date with all the latest technology and designed two computer stations and an entertainment center. We had very specific needs for files and storage. Julia designed custom cabinetry that met our needs in all areas. Julia was a pleasure to work with. She has a real talent for understanding what the client wants. Her architectural knowledge is combined with a great sense for interior design. She helped us with fabrics, furniture, window treatments and paint color not only in the office but also in our Master bedroom and the common areas of the house .

We have used Julia Metcalf Architecture and Interior Design for two different projects - an office renovation and a large scale home remodel. Both projects had major architectural and interior design elements. Julia was very easy to work with, and we found her communication skills, both with us and with our contractor, to be exceptional. Everything was very clear and concise. She really understood our design aesthetic, and how to work that into both our home and our office.
