My wife and I purchased our forever home in the spring of 2020. We saw that there was a lot of potential in property, but it needed some work to get it to where we wanted it to be. We had some ideas but required a lot of assistance in putting it all together and making it happen. Enter Kaestner Designs. Michael was extremely thorough during the consultation process. He helped us take our scattered ideas and turn them into a cohesive and BEAUTIFUL design. Throughout the process we were guided by his expertise and insight. Mike didn’t just put together a design for us, he asked questions and learned about our lifestyle so that he could make targeted suggestions that would improve our families’ use of the space. A booklet was provided to our contractor with detailed information regarding the layout of the space, descriptions of materials, and answers to questions he’s received in the past. Throughout the project Mike would follow up and was on-site for major milestones to ensure materials delivered were in tip top shape. On top of his design and project management skills, Mike is just a very nice person to work with. He genuinely cares about the people who he’s working with and gets joy from helping them with their journey. We can’t recommend Kaestner Designs enough!

I love my kitchen now! I live in a 100+ year old row house with a small kitchen in the back "shed" add-on. Michael Kaestner was able to re-configure the space to make it so, so much more useful than before, and give me the colorful cabinets I wanted while still honoring the period when my house was built. I have been following Kaestner Designs on Instagram for a few years and have communicated with Michael Kaestner over the past few years via Social Media and over the phone regarding projects and the trade profession. Michael was extremely organized when it came to pre-construction discussions and that organization followed straight through the installation process up to the final punch list. He ensured that all products were free of damage and quickly replaced any items that had arrived with concealed damage that we later as the job progressed. Michael is an amazing designer! This December I will have lived in my house for twenty years with the same outdated kitchen... After retiring I decided it was time for an update. Micheal's vision and initial drawing were amazing and blew me away. I had no idea how he thought of changing the blue print of my kitchen. We all simply love it and enjoy gathering in our new kitchen!

We used Kaestner designs for our kitchen remodel. Michael was wonderful to work with! From concept to install he was there. There are so many decisions to be made and Michael ‘held our hand’ through the process! We couldn’t be happier with all of his suggestions. When we selected our Contractor for remodeling our kitchen, he referred us to Michael to discuss our plans. We have a log home, it is so unique and the space was so daunting and challenging. After so many years of indecision and frustration, Michael's expertise guided us into creating a kitchen space we never thought possible! My wife and I were so relieved to have Michael ease our stress and anxiety over all of the decisions that came into play. Michael did not overwhelm us with options, and we were able to organize all of our ideas while also incorporating his own approach and suggestions. What we really enjoyed about this project was that things were always moving and we never had to initiate anything once we got started. Michael always followed up, shared his design drafts/drawings, conducted webex/calls, and was at our residence when deemed necessary. Michael is rock-solid on what materials would work well with our kitchen, and his recommendations on cabinets, hardware, and his relationships with his manufacturers is noteworthy to say the least. Note that during COVID, cabinets took almost 6 months to arrive, and when they FINALLY did, Michael was at our house inspecting every item ensuring everything was delivered and nothing was damaged! Due to some issues with the leveling of the flooring in kitchen, Michael had to special order some wider moulding, which is promptly handled and had zero disruption to the project. I included images in this review, the first two images are BEFORE. Note the wall pantry between the windows...we worked with Michael to customize this item to fit in that space adjacent to the kitchen space. Michael was VERY patient, as we changed that configuration multiple times. He also worked on getting us a built-in microwave as we did not one over the stove or on the counter. VERY HAPPY WITH THIS!
