Loved working with Kim and Austinteriors! We downsized to a brand new home which needed lots of vision to make it uniquely ours - and Kim did exactly that. She listened carefully to our ideas about a major project - a wall/fireplace/tv area for the great room. The dark wood floating shelves with museum style lighting showcase the art and glass pieces we have collected over many years. The tile with fossil imprints wraps around an inset column and sets off the fireplace beautifully. And, after the wall, the rug and curtains she helped us select were - as she put it - the icing on the cake. And one of the best parts - all the workmen were so considerate, hard-working, reliable and neat....even vacuuming after themselves!

I had Kim from Austinteriors help me decorate my new home with window treatments and custom pillows for my great room! Working with Kim and Devon was an enjoyable experience!! Kim is a knowledgeable and creative designer !! It was a pleasure to have her help me make my home beautiful !!

What do you think of my master bathroom thus far?! I am ecstatic! (My former gold and glass shower enclosure will be reinstalled next week.) Hurricane Milton high winds caused much damage to my house. My building contractor led me to Kim Johnsen, just for her to come by and reccomend paint colors. But the master bathroom had to be redone. I already knew that hiring a professional decorator-designer was the only way to save money and get it done perfectly. Commonly, people do not know that decorator-designers buy wholesale. That's their business! Think again before you buy your own materials, hire your own tile masons, plumbers, electricians, etc. Kim kept me below my budget so now I can put my leftover money into our next project! And I don't have to deal with work crew. Kim handles and oversees the work being performed! I keep my sanity, my time and my money getting my remodel done. Kim is down-to-earth. She makes you happy to be around her. I am so fortunate and thankful. I can't convince anyone through words alone. Always hire an expert like Kim, if you want your project done right, and especially to save moneywise! You will remember my advice when you see your own results!

Terrific job done!!! Very knowledgeable and offers great advice when you need direction. She is sensitive to your preferences and works well with everybody. The projects completed turned out beautiful: she updated my master bathroom to a bright and cheerful look including shower tiles and showerheads, a free standing tub, painting of the cabinets and wall, and camode. The guest room bath was also done beautifully. Lastly, new sheers look wonderful in my master bedroom. Highly recommend to everyone!

Kim, is more than a designer, she is a life changer!! I had called several designers but, had never really been “moved” by anyone. Then I contacted Kim and was impressed from the very beginning. She was kind, generous, extremely talented and drum roll please……she listened. She never tried to push me into anything, maybe a kind nudge every once in a while, which I needed. I always felt a part of the renovation, never a bystander. We were a team! I am designer hobbyist and the majority of my closest friends are professional interior designers in Dallas…….so please don't say a word but, Kim surpassed them in so many ways! I am so glad that I found Austineriors and Accessories, mainly because I was very tired of making "mistakes." Kim Johnsen designed my entire condominium, and it looks divine! First of all, she returned my initial call right away, and we had a 30-minute phone interview. I was so impressed that I hired her on the spot. (And I thought the fee was quite reasonable, considering all that I asked for.) Kim spent a great deal of time helping me figure out my "style." After that, Kim arranged painting, a fabulous stone wall, a matching wood niche and bar, window treatments, a unique back splash, all of the lighting and ceiling fans, and the list goes on and on. Later, she chose fabulous furniture, artwork, a bunch of very cool decorative items, etc. Everything was delivered and arranged, and I didn't have to do a thing. When I walked through my front door for the first time, my jaw dropped. Everyone else who visits me is flabbergasted, too. If you want a drop-dead gorgeous single room or an entire home, Austinteriors will do it for you. Highly recommended!

We recently completed a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom renovation. Kim was the first person we contacted after the architect. She was extremely easy to work with. She was able to combine 2 very different styles while listening to both of us. She helped in the process of choosing every finish. This included flooring, lighting, cabinets, counters, hardware, window treatments, paint and everything in between. She worked closely with the contractor and absorbed all of the stress that a project like this can cause. She also had suggestions to improve the architects plan which we implemented. She thinks of everything. Her fees were very reasonable. We would highly recommend Kim.

I selected Kim Johnsen of Austinteriors for the interior design of my townhouse which I purchased in the spring of 2020. It was a complete interior renovation, including the removal of walls, changing the layout of the kitchen and master bathroom and the selection of all the finish materials, colors, fixtures and hardware. This was a scary undertaking for a single woman but Kim took the stress out of it and made it fun. Unlike my previous home, I wanted my new surroundings to be modern, open, light and airy. I was impressed with Kim’s ability to quickly assess my style, tastes and needs and incorporate them into one, well thought out design plan. After interviewing three contractors, I decided to go with Kim’s because during the initial walk through, I liked the way they worked together, bouncing ideas off one another and openly discussing what needed to be done. I had a vision of what I wanted my new home to look like but never would have been able to put it all together without Kim’s expert assistance. She was knowledgeable, patient and resourceful. Her ideas were fresh and creative. Together we selected new furniture, window treatments, lighting fixtures and decor. When I look at the before and after pictures I am amazed at the transformation. Kim did such an excellent job after we built our last home in 2016 that we decided to bring her in much earlier in the building process for our new home on the beach. Kim was quick in identifying our likes and dislikes and has provided us with options that are in line with current market trends. Interior designers come and go plus they don’t listen to what you want. Kim is the exact opposite she is dedicated to your project stays within your budget and will deliver your vision every time. My husband and I have worked with Kim on many projects over the course of 20 years, even new construction which prevented unnecessary disagreements. Very happy with the outcome of my high rise ocean front condo; which, I attribute directly to my designer Kim Johnson of Austinteriors. Kim’s “Sophisticated Coastal” design matched the paint colors incorporated in the floors, moldings, and walls perfectly with the ocean view on three sides of the condo. The bathrooms a mixture of granite, tile, tile mosaics, mirrors, multiple shower heads, and a Toto Washlet (automated toilet master bath only —every woman should have one) are not only aesthetically pleasing but extremely comfortable. The choice of mirrors and angles allows me to view the ocean via my vanity mirror when I shave. From an automation prospective, the lighting system, tv, security, music system; Kim worked very well with the the techs (lighting system has millions of colors and runs many simulations like Northern Lights, thunderstorms, etc. However, I am most impressed with the PVC mirrored ceilings with integral light railings/light diffusers, gives the distinct illusion of 18 foot high ceilings, the same effect in some elevators with mirrored ceilings. Seeing the surf zone and waves in the ceiling is definitely not boring (my highest compliment). Kim found this European design, not yet popular in this country, at a trade show while construction was underway (her Russian installers did an AMAZING job— a nature lovers paradise). The electronics techs were also extremely able utilizing programming skills along whet the Elan System incorporating advanced, relatively inexpensive, lighting technology available at Best Buy. Thanks Kim!

She was professional, thorough and timely in all issues of this major remodel. From space planning and design to selecting cabinetry and fixtures she exceeded our expectations while staying with in our budget. Kim is very professional but so much fun to work with. No pressure, she points you in the direction to find what you need and you make the decisions. I hired her to do my kitchen and master bath. Both are beautiful and reflect me. I would hire her again but I am running out of rooms.. She kept on top of things and always called back when I called her.
