Since 2008 Alexis Nielsen has been creating beautiful interiors that reflect her clients’ tastes, personalities, and desires. To Lexi, design is about collaboration - listening to her client’s ideas and bringing those ideas to reality. Major addition and remodel to home. Lexi brought extensive experience, understanding of needs and creativity to project. Listens to client thoughts, ideas, uncertainties and responds in a very positive manner while bringing her design skills to the picture. Where cost is an issue she offers excellent alternatives. She shares her sources, if desired she has client accompany her to shop for whatever is needed. This challenging project has been very successful and rewarding because of our work with Alexis Nielsen.

We’ve worked with Lexi over the years. She’s always a pleasure to work with. Her most amazing feat was rearranging furniture in our sun room and having us repaint the walls to a color that complemented the wood trim. With her magic touch the sun room became an oasis, my favorite place in the house to read, drink my morning coffee, and so on. Lexi has that special eye that elevates your surroundings with not much more than a few tweaks. Go with her. You won’t be sorry.

For over 10 years, Lexi has helped me redesign my home, from selecting the exterior paint colors (first project and I still love the colors!) to helping me ensure all the finishes and paint color selections for a kitchen and primary bedroom remodel worked with the character of my Hulbert home and my design aesthetic to selecting and ordering furniture for the first floor. I continue to call Lexi when I start a new project, big or small. She knows my style and can source what I am looking for easily. Lexi is helping me turn my home into my dream home!

Alexis has impeccable taste, first of all. The kind of taste the includes creating living spaces that are livable. The kind of taste that finds beautiful things—counter tops, faucets, cabinets—within your price range, no problem. She is professional, responsive, warm, and works quickly and thoroughly. In my experience, as well, and confirmed by working with Alexis, a good designer saves me money, on product, on wild-ass design tangents, on bad products or services, and keeps the project moving. I’ve sent her contact info to my friends. Highly recommend.

Alexis came up with creative and beautiful solutions to update and brighten up our kitchen. She is super responsive, all of her design recommendations -from big things like layout changes to little things like hardward - were spot on, and her contractor recommendations were top notch and did such high quality work. She was even able to help cut down the time we would be without a working kitchen in half to accommodate a family member with health issues. So appreciative of her talents and thoughtfulness!

I've recently undertaken a long distance move, and I don't know what I would have done without Lexi's help with setting up my new residence . From developing a space plan for my furniture, color, lighting and carpeting selection, managing painters/electrician/other trades, her advice continues to be invaluable as I adjust to living in the Chicago area. And we did all of this long distance--I had a high level of confidence in her from our first conversation even though we had never met in person! Her design skills and knowledge of how to get things done efficiently will ensure that she will be my go-to person for the foreseeable future.

Lexi did a fantastic job in helping us with design and styling during our house renovation / addition. She assisted with paint colors, light fixtures, tile selection, furniture, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, etc. There wasn’t a room she didn’t touch/influence during our project. Lexi was budget conscious, always showed up to meetings on time and prepared and a great sounding board. She really helped bring our visions to life. What I appreciated most was that Lexi was thoughtful about making timeless choices / recommendations, not just what was currently trending.

Alexis Nielsen is a remarkable decorator. She is enthusiastic and accommodating. She works with you to determine your style and then helps you make it a reality. In addition, she has a great eye for color. She is patient and relentless in finding the right colors while working within a budget. I consider myself lucky to have found her and to capitalize on her expertise. I recommend her highly. She helped us with window coverings for the master bedroom and living room. Simultaneously we reupholstered a living room sofa.
