Bedenbaugh Designs Inc. and The Lynden Gallery

Lisa help us finalize our plans for our vacation home in the Adirondacks. We took a plan to her to which she went over a suggested quite a few things which all of them were included in the home. The house would not be the same without her superb ideas.

I met Lisa when she was the designer for an upscale boutique hotel in our area. I loved her work there and asked her to design an addition to our 1930 era house. We started with just a kitchen addition and ended up adding a bedroom, restructuring 2 bathrooms and 1 powder room. Lisa was onboard with our philosophy of re-use of items already in the house so we were able to save money by re-using a bathtub and other items that were already here instead of buying new for everything. She helped us convert the tiny old kitchen into a butler’s pantry, re-using the old cabinetry, which we updated with paint, while at the same time designing an entirely modern kitchen next to it. Lisa encouraged us to used natural cherry for our cabinets instead of stained or painted cabinetry and this has given the kitchen a very natural and soft look we love. She and Dennis at Horizon Kitchens encouraged us to install a drawers in the lower cabinet and that has turned out to be an incredibly efficient thing to do. No more crawling to the back of base cabinets on hands and knees to find a pan! Her creativity shined in the kitchen where she designed a very untraditional tile display behind the stove area in that it mimicked the unevenness of a stone wall outside of our kitchen area. It is more a work of art than the traditional placement of square tiles. In our new bedroom she created a sitting area off to the side and also a laundry room attached to our bedroom (THE BEST feature of this re-do!) Lisa truly shines in her choices of paint colors. The warm colors make the transition from room to room very comfortable and many people have commented on the paint selections.

We engaged this firm to remodel our kitchen. No work had been done since the fifties. There were major design challenges due to the foot print. Through a really productive collaboration, a fabulous plan was developed. Not only did we arrive at a great plan, but Lisa also selected the subcontractors and managed the job to completion. We now have a kitchen that is both beautiful and very functional. The attention to detail was exceptional. We were so pleased we asked the firm to build a bathroom and mud room. We could not be more pleased. Lisa is a great communicator, problem-solver and manager. Don and Carol Spigner
