We were so fortunate to have worked with Lisa. She decorated our home paying specific attention to every element in each room. She was meticulous when choosing colors and complementing textures to a given room. Every room felt balanced due to her care and creativity. I have loved working with Lisa. She helped with the complete re-design/re-build of my kitchen, as well as designs for my dining room, living room, and sunroom in my new home. We chose Lily Mae Design after looking at SO MANY photos on houzz and we honestly loved every photo of every room in Lily Mae Design's portfolio. We worked with Lisa Puchalla on our Family Room, Living Room, Powder Room and Primary Bedroom. Lisa Puchalla of Lily Mae Design was fantastic to work with. She recently helped us completely re-do our family room, and we also worked with her on light fixture selection and rug/runner selection in other parts of our house. Lisa caught on almost immediately to my style, and was able to source items for us that fit my taste but were much more elevated and stylish than anything I would have ever found on my own. Once I'd narrowed down Lisa's suggestions to just two or three items, I'd often take Lisa's lead on the final choice and she never led me astray! Lisa was always responsive, stayed within our budget, and best of all, she made the entire process very fun and I always looked forward to her visits!

I've worked with Lisa on several projects-- family room, formal living room, master bedroom, outdoor patio furniture. She was an excellent listener, brought me great ideas I would have never come up with on my own, worked within my budget, and was infinitely patient in working around our busy family schedule. When I envisioned what our new townhouse would look like I couldn't imagine it would come to fruition. Lisa is fantastic! She helped us (on short notice) choose paint colors for all of the interior walls in our house, and she was able to recommend the perfect colors (complete with recommendations about which brands, sheens, etc. we should use) in a mere 2 hours! Her instincts and color-sense are terrific, and she suggested some colors we hadn't thought of which turned out to be perfect. Wish there were more stars because Lisa deserves as many as possible. I felt we had a bit of a challenge as we needed to integrate new with old . Lisa is brilliant. Lisa is quite simply amazing! My husband and I are severely color and creativity challenged. Lisa came to the rescue. She picked out paint colors that go beautifully with the decor. She also helped us select rugs (3 and we love each one very much) and furniture. She brought rug samples and even rugs to our home so we could see how they looked in the place where they would be placed. She worked very efficiently, making use of every minute of her time with us. Lisa has a very approachable personality which helped us feel comfortable with her right away. And she picked up on our general likes very quickly enabling her to present options that we would like. I cannot say enough good things about Lisa--if you choose her, you will have a great designer experience!

A very close friend used Lisa for decorating and my husband, who is generally oblivious to decor kept commenting on my friend's house so we started using her. Lisa is all the things you would expect-professional, knowledgeable, etc. but what makes her stand out-- she's normal. She's not so uber chic that she's intimidating, she's not a frightful snob eye rolling at requests for some mid priced things, she knows how to mix the best of your old things with new, fresh finds, she can go very high end but can spot a bargain too! She also understands how to make a project look great, but practical so your family can actually use a room comfortably without living in fear of a spill or a dog hair! Highly, highly recommend!

Lisa is the best! After doing a full home renovation, I needed help with selecting furniture, rugs, wallpaper and accessories for our main floor rooms. Lisa has a great ability to "read" your design personality after touring your home, and she styles your rooms accordingly. I get overwhelmed with too many options and asked Lisa to limit her design selections. She presented great options and we were able to make decisions quickly. After the excitement of buying a new house wore off, the anxiety of furnishing and decorating it began. We hired Lisa at the recommendation of our realtor and have never looked back! Finally, she handled a lot of the tedious things with decorating whenever needed... even using our guest key to let in furniture deliveries while we were out of town. Lisa at lily mae design is a pure joy to work with! She was great at setting expectations for delivery, providing pricing, and staying on top of my project in general. Lisa really took into account our style, she has an amazing ability to walk into a room, move existing pieces of furniture around, and create a whole new look. She also did an impeccable job at integrating her ideas with pieces of furniture I already had; she added the simplest knick knack or area rug to a room, and made it feel more homey. Lisa has been working with us for about 6 months. She redid our living room, foyer, most of our dining room and is converting what was a 3-season glassed-in former screened porch into what my husband and son call a man cave (it is not). Apart from her impeccable taste, one of Lisa's strengths is her flexibility. For example, we needed advice about a window treatment for a kitchen window and a lighting option for the famly room. Rather than sugget a full-on makeover (which the family room could use), Lisa delivered on precisely what I asked and did not try to up-sell or over-sell me. When we were working on the living room, I initially wanted to keep the couch we had. Lisa agred to work with me on that and designed a spectacular room. Once the install started, I realized there was no way I wanted to live with the old couch. Lisa quickly helped find an amazing piece and although she then expressed her pleasure that I had decied to dispose of the old couch, she never once pressured me or made me feel that we could not work with the existing piece. Instead, she designed a beautiful room that would have worked well no matter what. Likewise, I have a Chinese silk rug in the dining room that, although beautiful, is not 100% within the aesthetic of the first floor. But I have nowhere else to put it and it cost a small fortune so I really do not want to part with it. Lisa was able to design window treatments, find a fabric for the chairs, and choose a wall color that maintain the tone of the house (if that is such a thing) while still working with the rug. Lisa also has been patient with the "while we are at it" emails from me requesting an additional item--or design (this is how the "man cave" came about). Lisa has been terrific interfacing with the vendors, getting the crafts people to the house, overseeing deliveries in my absence, etc. In one instance, where a piece of furniture was damaged in the delivery, Lisa worked with the vendor's repairman at our house. When the repair was not satisfactory, she did not miss a beat in getting the piece removed and finding me an alternative (and frankly much lovelier) piece. I do not have the wherewithal to include photos but I suspect Lisa will have some that she would be happy share. I worked with an architect and design-build firm in the past to do an adddition on our house and redo the kitchen--this process with Lisa has been infinitely simpler and more fun. I am listing December 2014 as the project date because it is the midpoint but I have been working with Lisa since about September 2014-present.

Lisa is a real professional. She is a great designer and knows exactly what will work and will not work in a given space. She will work within your budget, colors and design ideas. She has access to great resources and follows orders from beginning to delivery. She is on top of any problems and makes sure they are fixed promptly. She is a delight to work with - on time, personable and accessible. I would recommend her without reservation for any sized job.

I write because I have had the great opportunity to with with Lily Mae in two different capacities. First, my wife and I needed the expertise that Lisa provided as we redecorated our living room. Lily Mae Design designed my Chevy Chase living room and also by long distance my cabin on a lake in Maine. Their work was excellent. The Maine job was particularly difficult as it was accomplished long distance.
