Laura is amazing! I worked with Laura to design a Barndominiums during 2017 for my family farm in Nacogdoches County, Texas. She took my wish list and the final produce was better than I ever imagined, all the while staying within the budget. Laura’s creativity and attention to detail stand head and shoulders above the rest! One of her best traits is her ability to listen. My Barndominium has all the modern conveniences such has central heat and air conditioning, fireplace, large living room, large front porch, large modern kitchen, two bathroom and bedrooms. Laura nailed it with an efficient floorplan that wastes no space and provides more storage than I ever thought possible. She was very patient with me when I asked for little tweaks to the plan, and she also made suggestions of things that I never even knew I needed. The result is a high quality custom home. I could not be happier. I also worked with Laura to design a commercial office building in 2017. Our builder almost never had a question because Laura's plans were so thorough. Laura worked side by side with the general contractor to ensure that the plans were carried out as intended. We wanted to use wood that was native to East Texas in the design. We were so successful that we even received a wood design award from the Texas Forestry Association. We get many compliments on the interior and exterior look of the building and I tell everyone that all the credit goes to Laura. I hope to work with her again in the future.

I cannot recommend Laura highly enough for architectural plans - whether commercial or residential. She has worked on several projects for me, including both old, historic downtown building plans as well as plans for a family home. She listened keenly to my ideas and asked questions to assess needs I didn't even know I had. She works tirelessly and is patient and flexible regarding changes. Her projects around the East Texas area, in my view, are easily some of the most beautiful and attractive structures built (or renovated) and add much to our communities. In addition to her creativity and high architectural standards, she is simply a wonderful person to know and with whom to work.

Laura created a beautiful design and plan for our expanded ranch home in East Texas. She is a great listener and was able to incorporate all of our wishes and ideas, being very patient as we tweaked and adjusted many details. She also helped with all of the interior design choices from flooring to counters to wall colors. She worked very well with our builder and provided great insight on information we needed to provide to keep the project moving forward. Laura is very professional and knowledgeable but is also warm and caring and really understands the needs of families. It has been a joy working with her!

Laura Culpepper was a very professional and attentive to our needs and wants. She planned our dream home with great detail. She is an artist and visionary when it comes to planning out the home. She worked with my wife and I to get just exactly what we wanted and did not push us to go in directions we did not want to go. She has a flare for the country home and we knew that going into the program. We had seen several of her county homes and fell in love with her style and artistry. I believe we have as beautiful a home as money can buy and it is particle and well organized. We have just moved in within the last couple of weeks so the excitement is high and we are in love with our retirement home on the ranch. The large timbers make the house spectacular and the sandstone rock veneer and metal roof set it apart from the ordinary. I recommend Laura to anyone who wants to live in their dream home. I recently used Laura Culpepper to redesign a historic family home and it was really a joy to work with her on this project. She listened to what my husband and I wanted ( not always the same thing) and help to put our ideas into a design that worked with our family's more modern needs while honoring the architecture and history of the house. This was also a long distance project for us so constant communication over email with progress and design choices were key to moving this project along. I would highly recommend Laura for collaboration on any size project as her collaborative work ethic becomes evident very early in your discussions with her.

After years of working and saving, we finally embarked on building our dream home. Architect, Laura Culpepper, was recommended to us through our builder, Alvin Stanaland. We had spent a large amount of time designing in our heads and presented an unusual wish list with very specific details to her at our first meeting. She was able to take our dream and put it on paper. She guided us through the process enabling us to have everything in our new house the way we wanted it, in addition to keeping it financially feasible. She was an absolute joy to work with and went well beyond expectations to create what we envisioned. We are just beginning the building process, but when we are complete Laura will be one of our very first guests to come help celebrate her original and incredible design!

Laura used our basic idea of a plan to get started, then worked patiently with us through many visits to develop the final plan. We are thrilled with our home. Someone recently asked if we would change anything about our new home. All I could think of would be to add two more external water taps.

In addition to being a talented Architect, Laura Culpepper is a wonderful family person. She is an excellent listener, sensitive to the needs of her clients, but ever mindful of the building process, timeline, and budget! Laura’s creativity and knowledge is evident in her detailed designs, project solutions, and the overall outcome of her projects.

I own a 107 year old Victorian which was badly in need of renovation/reinvention. Laura agreed to work with me to create a home that would serve a family with 2 young children. The new construction included a kitchen, breakfast room, utility room bathrooms and closets. A tower was added to accomadate the new roof line. The areas she designed have a great flow and are very functional. The utility room opens into the closets by a window pass through. Clothes are washed, dried, and folded and passed directly into the closets from the utility room. Sweet! The walls in the original living room and dining room were removed to create a light, open area including the kitchen and breakfast area. The dining room was enlarged to create a perfect size room and French doors added that open to the yard. We have lived in our "new" house for 5 months. It is an ingenious reinvention of an East Texas Victorian. We really enjoy the beauty and functional features that Laura brought to the project. My architect was a great investment!

We hired Laura to develop a set of plans and construction drawings for our new house. We had a basic concept in mind for part of the house but left the design of the remaining features to her imagination and creativity. After discussions about our tastes and desires the result was exactly on target. The plan Laura designed was unique and eye catching while still being functional and liveable.

Laura listened in depth to our ideas. She reviewed the concepts we provided and generated house plans that were well thought out and inline with our goals. She is easy to work with and provides a level of professionalism that is appreciated.
