Being a General Contractor in the Lake Tahoe, California area we deal with a good deal of log structure and detail both residentially and commercially. We tried Daniel and Lisa Schneider after finding them on the internet. Everything was done via computer, CAD, and phone. We did a 25 foot spiral log staircase with and 8 sided log octagon rail system all out of cedar and white pine. The entire system arrived via covered carrier with more care than a fine automobile. EVERY piece fit perfectly, every angle cut correctly, and the quality of the craftsmanship was WELL ABOVE ANYTHING I have seen in our area in some 20 years. In all those years, I have worked with many subcontractors and vendors. After working with Dan and Lisa, they jumped right to the TOP of the list. This guy isn't just a craftsman...he's an artist. My highest recommendation...

We live in the United Kingdom and were hoping to find a manufacturer of Log Staircases to design and build a custom made Log Staircase locally. After searching the net and comparing the craftsmanship & costs we decided the US manufacturers have much more experience & skills in log made products & would be much more cost effective even after adding the custom & shipping fees. So we started reaching out to the US suppliers & after some extensive research found Lisa & Dan the owners of Log Stairways. From the first telephone conversations and exchange of details my wife & I decided to place the order with Lisa & Dan. After all measurements were sent to Lisa, she provided us with fantastic 3D models of the proposed staircase & our home which we were delighted to see. Considering we have not physically seen their products, both my wife & I felt the honesty, craftsmanship & attention to details Lisa & Dan have through our email & telephone communications. After the order was placed & as they promised, the step by step process of manufacturing of our beautiful staircase was photographed and communicated through emails & phone calls. Finally the staircase was shipped and arrived here in the UK and was time to install! Moment of truth! Will it fit correctly & pass the building examiners test? Off course! Every single measurement was per Lisa`s drawings and the building examiner was very impressed! We still keep in touch with Lisa & Dan through facebook and emails and are looking forward to meet up one day!
