We recently used Malte Build LLC for nearly an entire renovation of our second floor and we are extremely happy with how the space turned out. The home we purchased is nearly 100 years old and needed a significant amount of work by someone who would take the time to create the finishes and look that we desired. They created a custom wainscoting in our entry, up the stairs and throughout upstairs hallway that added a really nice finished look. They also replaced all baseboards, doors, added a closet and custom window seat/bench, demoed several walls, added new shelving in existing closets and mounted a TV and barn door. Everything that they did was very high quality, matching the old charm and existing craftmanship already in the house and we couldn't be happier with the results. Malte is very professional and easy to work with, as well as his crew. I would highly recommend using Malte Build LLC for any renovation needs in the Northern VA/DC area.

Malte Build remodeled our master bathroom--and did an OUTSTANDING job. He came very highly recommended and met with us at our house. We talked through a design plan and, after he did some calculations, he presented us a budget. By the end of the project he came in exactly at the price he quoted before he began. Frankly, I was a little concerned (nervous) about a remodeling project in Northern VA--I had heard of a lot of disappointed and overcharged people. That was NOT our experience with Malte. We could not be happier with the final product. I also had an in-person quote by the company I heard about on WTOP. They were 10K more than Malte for a job much more modest. Malte is a perfectionist--and that is exactly the kind of craftsman I wanted to remodel our master bath. He worried about very small details that I really did not even consider. We could not be happier with Malte Build and recommend him unconditionally.

A neighbor recommended Malte Build for my kitchen renovation. The crew were on time, professional & courteous. They laid floor cloths prior to beginning work & cleaned up each day. The installation required reconfiguring recycled cabinets & building shelves as well as removing an old pantry to install cabinets. The work was coordinated with countertop & electrical contractors without a hitch. The finish work was excellent. I am very happy with quality of workmanship & with how easy it was to work with Malte. He understood what I wanted & made great suggestions which resulted in a beautiful high quality finished product.

We recently had Malte Build out to help us re-level our subfloor in our townhome after another contractor did a terrible job. Malte was very professional from the first meeting. He was very well spoken and was able to talk us through all the work he would have to do to help rectify our current problem. We could not be more happy with the results. We would definitely recommend Malte Build to anyone. We will be looking to hire them again for our next renovations.

I hired Malte Build to add built in bookcase, wainscotting and painting added to my living room and the results were nothing short of amazing! Malte arrived on time, introduced his other employee and immediately got to work on the bookcases and cabinets to be installed. Because both bookshelves where on either side of my fireplace it was tedious work and a lot of measuring had to be done in order to make everythign just right. Malte and Cory were up to the task and i was supremely impressed with the attention to detail when installing the cabinets. The devil's in the details and they made sure to cross every "T" and dot every "I". At the end of the first day they prepped the walls for paint by priming the walls for the nexts days painting and wainscotting installation. I was even more impressed that at the end of the day they vacuumed and mopped the work area so it was inhabitable again. I really appreciated that! Day 2 was the same as the previous day. The shelves were built and painted. The wall was painted and chair rail and wainscotting was created and installed. It was like watching a painter create something from nothing. Everything was in place but now the finishing touches were needed to make it all come togther. I was very impressed they stayed as long as they did and prep for the next day. I'll fast forward to day 4 and when the project was completed the living room looked like something out of a magazine. It was gorgeous and i was afraid to do anything to it to ruin the effect. I didn't want it too look lived in sort to speak. Before Malte left we had already spoken about 3 other small projects for my home and i'm not even going to look for 2nd or 3rd quotes because I know the craftsmanship, attention to detail and reliability of Malte and his employees is second to none. There was one instance when he measured a shelf to short at the end of the project. He told nme about it and told me he will come back the next day (saturday) and bring a properly measured, painted shelf and make it right. He didn't have to tell me, and chances are I wouldn't have even noticed, especially if he moved it the higher part of the bookcase but he was upfront, honest and said he would make it right. I will hire Malte Build to build for me built in book cases for my office, remodel my laundry room, and repaint and complete my kitchen with trim work. A larger project in the near future will be too finish my unfinsihed basement which will include putting in a full bathroom. Malte and Malte Build are my go too contractors now and in the future! You can't go wrong with this company!

Over the years, we’ve done half a dozen projects on our Falls Church house with three other contractors – all highly rated on various sites. I have a small engineering business, so I have high – but reasonable – standards. Until I found Malte Build, I had not worked with a contractor in this area that I would feel comfortable recommending. Everything about the experience met or surpassed our expectations. For this project, we renovated the kitchen, an adjacent family room, and a powder room. Malte’s pricing was right in the middle of four quotes. More importantly, he executed the work exactly as proposed, scheduled, and priced – no delays, no overruns, and no misunderstandings. That shows he carefully listened and fully planned the details of our complex little project. Another big reason he delivered so effectively was that Malte, himself, was at the jobsite supervising and working alongside his team most of the time throughout the project. If you’ve worked with other contractors, you know that very often the manager/salesperson that quotes and plans the project with you in the beginning often “hands-off” the work to a crew once the work begins. Malte’s personal attention shows in the quality of the result. The work was impeccable – built the right way at every step from the inside-out. I am a perfectionist, and even if I had the time, I could not have done it better myself. But it is not all about him. He seems to hire well, too. Every member of his team was skilled, conscientious, and actually fun to be around and interact with. From now on, my wife will not let any other contractor work on our house.

As soon as we bought our house, we decided to do some renovation work on it. Looking for a reliable contractor a close family friend recommended Malte. Very quick to understand one's desire, he went ahead to renovate the kitchen, basement, and master bedroom in the time he promised to complete the job. The outcome was more than what we asked for. We get the thumb's up by all our guests every time we have a function at our residence.
