Mark Gillette Interior Architecture and Design is a Cheshire-based studio known for creating timeless, thoughtfully crafted interiors across a wide range of property types. From historic country houses and heritage estates to modern homes and city apartments, every project is shaped by the architecture of the building and the individuality of each client. Established in 1994, the studio is recognised as one of the UK’s leading interior design practices, delivering refined, enduring interiors in the UK and internationally. Working from our Chester studio, we have recently completed projects in Switzerland, Austria, France, Scotland and Mallorca. Creative director Mark Gillette brings more than 35 years of experience and a lifelong passion for architecture, craftsmanship and the decorative arts. His deep understanding of design movements—from classical to modernist—guides an approach that is both historically informed and forward-looking. This vision is supported by long-standing relationships with highly skilled British and European artisans. Our work spans a diverse portfolio. While we are well known for our expertise in listed buildings, restoration and traditional country properties, we also design contemporary interiors for modern homes and sophisticated urban spaces. Each project is developed collaboratively with the client to ensure the final design is personal, functional and built to last. By understanding how you live and the story of your home, we create interiors defined by harmonious colour, bespoke joinery, curated furniture, art and layered textures. Mark is a member of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and the U.S.-based Design Leadership Network. Recent work includes the renovation of a lakeside villa in Geneva, the restoration of a Grade II* Georgian estate in the Cotswolds and the redecoration of a Georgian townhouse in Liverpool.
