About Us

Established in January 2006, the firm of Michael P Dolce AIA Architect is located in the Bel Air region of Harford County, Maryland. Michael P Dolce maintains architectural licenses in Maryland, Delaware and New York State. My goals on all projects are to work closely with the client to produce creative design solutions that meet their functional needs, spatial requirements and the construction budget. All facets of the project will be considered from start to finish, including specific client requirements, project context, sustainable (or “green”) design features, site features, views, solar orientation, zoning restraints, etc. The added challenge on addition and alteration work is to seamlessly integrate the new building features with the existing structure. I have an extensive amount of experience on these project types. I have over 35 years in the field, the past 29 years as the Lead Architect on various projects, many of which required collaboration with other professional consultants. From custom homes with the latest in sustainable design to commercial tenant build outs, I offer a combination of experience, vision and professionalism.

I found Mike through Houzz. He was quick to respond and to come check out my project, a small 550 sq ft addition above a garage. I felt comfortable with him from the beginning and didnt even have anyone else consult. We converted a former bedroom, bathroom and concrete front porch into a large master bedroom suite including walk in closet and large bathroom. Mike always made me feel like my project was important even though probably by most standards the project was modest. We needed additional calculations for load bearing and he coordinated a structural engineer to go along with his expertise. The turnaround time for the plans was very fast even after I would make slight modifications. I really enjoyed working with Mike and would recommend him to anyone seeking guidance or architectural needs big or small. I haven't included any photos as the project is not yet complete, I'm a DIY'er!

Michael is a very talented architect. We had a 1 1/2 story house with 3 bedrooms. His designs transformed it into a beautiful 2 story home with 5 bedrooms. Michael was very knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with. His construction estimates were right on target. We found Michael's budget quite reasonable. He provided us with not only a functional design but a very personalized one. Our main concern was that it would look like an addition. Michael's blueprints handled that issue specifically. We originally wanted 2 bathrooms on the upper floor but Michael came up with a plan to enclose the tub, lavatory and sinks in separate rooms. This layout has worked perfectly. All in all we were extremely impressed with Michael's talent and found him to be a pleasure to work with.

Michael Dolce provided us with plans for a home addition with a deck that exceeded our expectations and provided best cost options. I feel his experience gave us options that we had not considered. He listened to our wish list and designed the addition including all of the little details that I wasn't sure would be possible. He allowed for the addition to take place in several phases as our budget would allow. Mr. Dolce was professional, efficient, and paid attention to our requests.
