it has been my good fortune to work with melillo and bauer. I have undertaken a very difficult project, with a restrictive township, access issues, slopes, and floodplains. What we have accomplished so far exceeds my highest goals. To be specific, the reasons i like working with Melillo and Bauer are as follows. First off, they are highly creative individuals with an impressive book. I have had many of my own ideas, and this is not a firm that wants control to be surrendered. They actually value and shape and grow themselves from the input from the client (in my experience.) They are incredibly accessible. I live in PA and they are in NJ but we have had no problems. Joe Melillo makes the drive out when ever necessary. This firm has sophisticated taste, is up to date on all current trends, will discover the facts about anything they are not sure of, have contacts everywhere, from builders to growers, engineers, you name it. I have truly had the best experience. They came recommended by my architect and have exemplified professionalism, resourcefulness, and imagination at every turn. They are there from start to finish. I would never consider another landscape architect. Figuring this one out gives me an ace in a holster filled with a bunch of other issues. Ha!

We have worked with Melillo + Bauer over the past 17 years with great success. Over the years we have collaborate in various roles as development team members brought together by a common client, sub-contractors to them and we have sub-contract them as well. Melillo and Bauer has designed landscape and amenity areas for many of the Woodmont Properties residential projects. The project list included Saddle River Grand in Saddle River NJ which was a 68 unit community of custom 2 million dollar townhomes with a gated entrance with fountain, pool/hot tub and clubhouse area and central gazebo areas. They have also completed several other multifamily high end apartment project landscape design and construction document. the designs included entrance walls, clubhouse. fire pit, barbeque areas, walking paths. stamped asphalt roads and cross walks. Their work is always creative and beautiful when completed. They are able to take tight difficult spaces and maker the look inviting. They assist in land planning and the approval process.

We hired Mellilo and Bauer after Hurricane Sandy. We had a complex job, which was to make our home, which was elevated 5' in the air, look as though it had always been that high up. The job entailed full drawings with regard to the soft scape and hard scape, land elevations for the front steps and retaiing walls, and the overall aethetics of lighting. Their desigers understood our vision, and executed a plan that surpassed our expectations. We would highly recommend them, especially if your project requires a high level of aesthetic sensibility. We would never have had the same result if we didn't hire a landscape architect.

Mellilo & Bauer did a fantastic job for us in a number of projects. I work for a large developer and have been working with this firm for closer to 15 years. Projects like Pier Village in Long Branch NJ and the Element Hotel in Harrison, NJ. They are very creative and very responsive. They are very good at solving the usual problems that occur during the build out. I would highly recommend using them.

I rely upon Melillo + Bauer for their vision and flair in creating attractive, well conceived and livable outdoor areas that sell our projects. Their design concepts provide the sizzle that attracts occupants of all ages to our projects and compresses our sales and/ or lease up time considerably.

I hired Melillo + Bauer Associates for the landscape and lighting plan for my new home in Westfield, NJ. They did a wonderful job of creating unique spaces for the kids as well as cleverly connecting the rear patio to both the active and passive recreation areas. I highly recommend them.
