Jonathan came recommended through a friend of ours who worked with him on her remodel and gave nothing but a glowing review. We had no other friends who could, in good faith, recommend their former contractors, so we immediately knew he was something special. We were looking to add a new room to our house as an ADU above the garage. Many other companies we spoke to either quoted astronomically high or were simply unresponsive. Jonathan was immediately a very clear communicator, a straight shooter, and offered solutions that others did not propose to make all of our asks a reality. After the initial meeting, we threw in a curveball of wanting to replace all of the windows and doors on the main house as well. He was able to fold this into the plans and re-adjust the schedule and price accordingly. He is a diligent time manager and kept each part of the process moving, and even nudging us when the ball was in our court. Most importantly, he is extraordinarily responsive. Whatever question we had (and we had a lot of them), he would take the time to clearly explain the details of the situation. He and his team are professional and courteous (shout out to Carlos!) and, since we stayed in the house during the re-model, aimed to make the process as unobtrusive as possible. We even asked him a question two months after the job finished and he responded immediately and helped send a team to handle what we needed. Above and beyond. Metropolis did our house approx 500 sq ft addition (bedroom, bathroom and laundry area) and I have to say Jonathan and his right hand man Carlos were incredibly great to deal with – when we would run into any issues, Jonathan would provide a genius solution – also he would steer us in the right direction as far as design and aesthetics - while we watched other projects around our neighborhood stall – Jonathan and crew worked straight through and finished the project on time - the highest compliment I can give I would say I would recommend him to family and friends- thanks Jonathan

Jonathan and his project manager Carlos are good people who care not just about your remodel, but your family as well. Let's be honest, whether you are relocated during your remodel or living in the dust (we most definitely were), it’s an expensive privilege that is stressful and very personal. Heck, it can be overwhelming just remodeling a small hallway bathroom. Who knew there was so many choices of tile to choose from? Look, I could tell you all about our remodel (it was extensive) and bore you with the details, but what’s more important is that Jonathan gave us a realistic quote, was on time, on budget and did quality work. Lastly, Jonathan will bring all his years of wisdom, coupled with a sense of calmness to your project and remind you, even when you doubt yourself for taking on so much all at once, it’s all very manageable and the outcome will be worth your time, money and energy.

we just finished a primary suite addition and existing kitchen and bath remodel with jonathan and his team, and they were nothing short of amazing. his attention to detail, dedication to quality, and architectural background were invaluable to our project--especially since we had difficulty with the architects and plans originally submitted to the city. our remodel turned out absolutely stunning (and somehow stayed on schedule and mostly in budget) and i can't imagine working with anyone but metro dnc for any future projects.

We couldn’t be happier with our decision to hire Jonathan. We bought a house in September and even before we closed, Jonathan came out and walked the property with us to make sure we were making the right decision. We completely renovated 3 bathrooms and from start to finish he makes everything easier. We are incredibly happy with the quality of work, but even more importantly, whenever anything was wrong, it was fixed almost immediately without any push back. Also there were random odds and ends in the house that needed to be fixed, and he always accommodated us, from damaged baseboards to switching light fixtures. He was always happy to address issues that were outside of the original scope of work. This was our first renovation and it was so nice to be able to lean on someone with so much experience. He has a ton of great insight in the design process too, always letting us know what he would do (when we asked) and not letting us go overboard doing things that were unnecessary. The bathrooms look beautiful and match the character of our traditional home. We were so happy with his work that we hired him to build out our ADU as well. Jonathan is a consummate professional, and I would wholeheartedly recommend his services to any homeowner looking for a skilled, timely, and professional contractor with a keen eye for design. My wife and I purchased our home in April of 2025. The house is a one-story California ranch and was built in 1957. Very little work had been done on the home by prior owners: the layout was dated, there was substantial subfloor water damage, and the rear sunroom was falling apart. While my wife and I had ideas about the renovations we wanted to perform, Jonathan bridged the gap between our ideas and reality, transforming the wish list we presented to him into a beautiful home that we could not be happier in. Jonathan transformed a Jack and Jill bathroom between the laundry room and primary bedroom into a beautiful master bathroom with a luxurious shower, using the remaining space from the laundry room to create a walk-in closet. The dated kitchen was absolutely transformed over the course of the renovation, and Jonathan provided key insight into common pitfalls overlooked by many homeowners - and contractors. Jonathan updated the hall bathroom, moving plumbing in the process. He completely overhauled the lighting in our house, replacing all the recessed lighting with energy-efficient LEDs. He installed air-conditioning, and he replaced the furnace, moving it into the attic to conserve space in the floorplan. He replaced all windows with energy-efficient, dual-pane windows, and he insulated all exterior walls. When stucco on the exterior of the home needed to be patched, Jonathan blended the old with the new perfectly. Truly, Jonathan is an exceptional contractor. He kept us informed throughout the entire process, he notified us of issues that we needed to resolve, and he brought our dreams to life. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jonathan to any homeowner.

We desperately needed to remodel/expand our kitchen. It was tiny, had almost no counter space, and two people couldn’t be in it at the same time. Next to the kitchen was an unnecessarily large bathroom, an unfortunate choice made by whoever flipped the property years ago. We’d been putting off remodeling due in part to the horror stories we’d heard. Jonathan was fantastic from the first contact and continued to be responsive, punctual, and communicated clearly about our options throughout the project. Like most remodels, we discovered things along the way that required flexibility. We were always able to reach Jonathan to express concerns, ask questions, and weigh choices. Our kitchen is now the center of our home, a place of delight vs dread. The awkwardly large bathroom we pulled space from for the kitchen is now spa-like, making our other bathroom pale in comparison. We hope to have Metropolis Drafting and Construction return in the future to make the rest of our home equally beautiful and functional.

After 3 years of looking for a home in LA with our realtor, we finally were able to buy a home in our dream location, Burbank, California. My husband and I, who are high school sweethearts, would romanticize Burbank and were under the impression that, as adults, the prices for homes in Burbank would never be within reach. It wasn’t until we found a home from the 1940s that was an absolute fixer-upper. Everyone in our lives begged us not to purchase and the house seemed impossible to repair. We interviewed contractors to see who could help make this impossible project seem approachable. We located Jonathan through reviews on reddit and after meeting with him versus other contractors, we knew right away that Jonathan was our person. Jonathan had the exact vision for the changes that my husband and I had, mentioning recommendations that my husband and I had discussed together before even sharing with Jonathan. He took charge of scheduling needs and approvals of all the permits for the house, changed the floors, walls, electrical layout, all 15 windows, added recess lightings and added a room and half bath. At the beginning of the project, Jonathan estimated that it would take 6 months to finish and he finished around 5 months. To see the house the way it is now that it is finished, it is a completely different home. I am elated to call it our first home and had such a positive, seamless experience with Jonathan, we look forward to working with him and referring him to others in the future.

We had plans ready for a backyard remodel that included adding square footage to our house and an ADU conversion. We wanted to hire someone with experience navigating the complexities of local regulations and were going to be available to quickly respond to questions and meet us on-site. We were happy to find Jonathan, knowledgeable with Burbank construction code. He pointed out issues with our plans, which helped limit surprise costs that might have come up later. Jonathan and his team worked efficiently, great with communicating, and were always available for questions and collaboration. This was our first home and remodel, and we couldn't be happier with Jonathan's services. As newbies, we were not familiar with how to navigate the process and what to expect, and Jonathan was so patient and thorough. His design process gave us different options, at different price-points, and once we had our plan in place, Jonathan executed at the quality level we hoped for and both on-time and on-budget. As construction progressed, we found Jonathan to be extremely available and responsive, but more importantly honest about various questions and potential changes we considered. He was very blunt about changes to our original plan that were worth spending a little extra for, and others that weren't worth the expense (even if that meant less money for himself ultimately). Anyone who has been through a remodel knows it's hard. Even if your contractor is AMAZING, it's hard. Having people in your home and living amongst construction and making decision after decision is stressful. This was my third round of construction and third contractor. Well, Third Times the Charm! We consulted with several contractors and from the beginning, Jonathan set both my husband and I at ease. He brought his expertise, experience and advice to the table but only in a collaborative way. Never in a way that felt pushy or argumentative. This was a full kitchen/front of the house remodel. The kitchen was a 1939 original so we went down to studs and knocked down a few walls. Johnathan not only brought our vision to life, he enhanced it. No job is perfect and we ran into several hiccups along the way. At one point my husband and I decided to do wood flooring in the kitchen after concrete had already been poured in prep for tile. Jonathan didn't bat an eye. Multiple times he said something along the lines of "It's your kitchen, I want you to be happy living in it." Each time we had a hiccup, I was happy with how he handled it and I love, love, LOVE the final outcome. I mean, come on, look at the pictures. As for timeline and cost, I have no complaints. The job ran a little long but that was due to our change orders and average construction delays. I would happily recommend Jonathan to anyone and everyone.

After interviewing four general contractors (GCs) for my interior remodel of a 4-bedroom, 4-bath home, I chose Jonathan due to his architecture/design background, drafting skills, and extensive knowledge. Unlike other GCs who required me to work with separate architects and designers, Jonathan handled the design, drafting, and permits all in-house, which saved me a lot of time and streamlined the process. His estimated timeline for construction was also the shortest, while still offering a competitive price. Throughout the construction, there were no delays. Jonathan adhered to the timeline and completed the project as promised. I never experienced long periods of inactivity, which is rare based on my past experiences with prior renovations. His communication was outstanding—he was always responsive and available via text and email, which made the process so much smoother. Jonathan was also great at helping me research options and find solutions when I wanted to make changes during the project. His flexibility and problem-solving skills were invaluable. Since the interior remodel, Jonathan has also helped us renovate our exterior, and we relied on him to redo the roof on another property. We hired Jonathan for a kitchen and bath remodel, as well as doing the flooring throught the house. We got quotes from several contractors but his ability to do design and build was why we selected him. Once the work began he was a pleasure to work with. He has good suggestions as well as tight project management. He was always quick to follow up and communicate next phases of the project. Everyone he brought in to work on the house was respectful and did great work that we were happy with. I would highly recommend him for any remodel project.

We had a fantastic experience with Metropolis Drafting & Construction for our home remodel. We remodeled the kitchen, two bathrooms, and replaced the flooring across the entire house. From demolition to laying the final tile, Jonathan Litinsky and his teams did top notch work every step of the way. Communication was straightforward and clear. We considered 3 bids for the complete gut and remodel of our kitchen and Jonathan/Metropolis was the best of the bunch. Not the lowest bid but not the highest and super fair and reasonable. We recently finished up our ADU project with Jonathan in Monrovia. We were very impressed with his assessment of the property during the bidding process. We had several contractors come out but none of them were as knowledgable about the code and requirements for completing the work. His estimate was realistic which was great for our financial planning. Not only that, but Jonathan handled everything with the city. We both work full time and the permitting process/working with the city was something we really did not want to deal with and were worried would require a lot of back and forth. To us this process went seamlessly as Jonathan addressed all communications with the city. All we had to do was visit city hall one time to sign some paperwork after the ADU was built, and even for that Jonathan addressed the hassle of getting an appointment set up. It was important to us that our ADU was built with attention to detail as the intended residents are my parents, who are to say the least, picky. Jonathan handled all of their questions and concerns. He carefully navigated having basically two sets of clients between my parents and my husband and I. He helped them pick out materials, was patient, and responsive. If there was anything that they did not like or any issues arose, Jonathan addressed it ASAP. We are very pleased with the results and excited to have a wonderful home for my parents to retire in.

We bid our recent project, a remodel of a 2 bedroom 1 bath home in Silverlake, to multiple contractors. Jonathan was the last contractor to see the home. Because we simply didn't need anyone else to see the place after he came in. The second I met him I knew he was the person to take over and manage the project. Before we even stepped into the home, he pointed out a complex and symmetrical and intricate spider web outside on our porch. I just knew he had the kind of attention to detail we needed. He was the only person to reimagine the space in a way we wanted but nobody before could do. His background as both an accomplished and skilled architect and contractor helped tremendously. He had a beautiful and thoughtful idea to transform our 2 bedroom 1 bath home into a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home without even needing to increase square footage. He kept our cost minimal and he was able to bring immense value to our home. Design, planning, and pulling permits promptly with incredible ease to start the project? Check, check, and check! Now off to the demo and construction! Impeccable and quality workmanship. We love how the home feels. It's not just an esthetic feeling, but we can feel the solid foundation and flooring when we walk through. We loved all the design recommendations for paint, cabinets, flooring, etc. I think almost everything Jonathan suggested, we were sold. He has a true eye for modern design and esthetics. He stuck to our timeline and truly delivered with stunning results. One thing about Jonathan is he is a great communicator. We have dealt with many setbacks during prior remodeling/construction projects, and it's inevitable. But one thing we truly appreciate about Jonathan is he doesn't just come to you with the problem, but he already has the solution or multiple solutions. This was a very low stress project for us because of Jonathan's calm, meticulous, and detail-oriented approach to reimagining and transforming our space. We couldn't be more happy with the results.

We have done multiple remodels before and, without question, this was our best experience from beginning to end. I particularly appreciated the following.... Jonathan’s calm demeanor, his design vision (especially given this is not my strength), his responsiveness to calls and messages, his timeliness (he and his employees always arrived on time for work and appointments), his sensitivity to and respect of desired price points, his meticulousness about the work being done, his organization of the job itself and the work spaces, his consistent communication of project updates, and his ability to deal calmly and efficiently with the inevitable glitches that occur in the remodeling process. I felt completely trusting of those who were coming into our home and appreciated that they were understanding of our dog’s crazy barking and need to slowly adjust to new visitors. We had a couple of house problems arise during the remodel (that had nothing to do with the remodels) and he made himself available to help us figure out a solution. One in particular... a plumbing problem where we were given an $8,000 estimate...and on a Saturday evening he talked us through a process, where we ultimately learned that the evaluation by the plumber was wrong and it was an easy fix. My husband and I hired Jonathan to convert part of our home and garage into a separate granny flat for my elderly parents. This was a project that was important to me and my family - we wanted a granny flat that felt like a lovely welcoming home, not a slapped together ADU. We are thrilled that we hired Jonathan as our contractor. Jonathan takes pride in his work and business. He pays attention to all the little details, has a great eye, makes helpful & honest suggestions, and he does not cut corners ever. He also knew all the ADA compliant codes so that door openings, showers, etc were accessible by wheelchair for my father. The end result was high quality, beautiful, and polished. Jonathan designed a layout that feels open and spacious - and managed to fit in a great room with kitchen, two bedrooms, two full baths, walk in closet, and laundry room - everything on my parent's wish list! My parents and family could not be happier with the end result. The transition from their previous huge home into this gorgeous new space has been seamless. Remodeling is stressful and hectic - but Jonathan was always available and truly made us feel like we were his only client. I had endless questions for him and he always responded quickly and patiently with thorough explanations. We will always use Metropolis for any remodeling needs!

Jonathan did an amazing job for us on our garage conversion. Jonathan was very thoughtful during the design process and helped guide us through the whole process the entire way. Always fair, never hostile or argumentative. Through out the build he was very attentive and hired great workers to do our remodel. Jonathan and the rest of the Metropolis team are truly awesome to work with. We had a pretty major first floor renovation that included removal of load bearing walls, a complete gut of our kitchen, conversion of closet space into a bathroom, and remodel of an existing bathroom along with a few cosmetic improvements to other areas of our house. We were warned by many friends who have been through similar renovations that contractors can be sketchy, hard to get ahold of after the job, cut rate on subs, etc but we had NONE of these problems with Jonathan. He was a consummate professional throughout the entire process (over a year due to permit delays during covid), he personally supervised a significant amount of the work, and he always picked up the phone right away whenever we had questions or concerns. It really felt like we were his only client even though we knew he had a few other major jobs happening concurrently with ours. There was never any point at which we felt unsure, abandoned, or that he and his team were giving the project anything less than 100%. We also loved that Jonathan has an excellent eye for design and relied upon him heavily when planning our kitchen layout and choosing finishes for each area. We really can't say enough good things about Jonathan and the Metropolis crew. We've already recommended them to friends and neighbors and would use them for future projects without hesitation.

We met with Jonathan for remodeling the two bathrooms in our house, and immediately liked his style –Jonathan is focused but relaxed, and took our job seriously without putting on pressure (we experienced both "hard sell" and "too busy to deliver quote" from a few other contractors we met with before Jonathan). Communication was excellent throughout the job – Jonathan replies very quickly to calls/texts, and we never felt in the dark about what was happening next (it was sometimes just a matter of checking in with him the evening before, or first thing in the morning). Carlos, who assists Jonathan, is also super friendly/helpful, and was always a pleasure to work with. When it came to handling a few issues that came up during the job, Jonathan made sure they were handled – whether the causes were outside his control (e.g., a vendor/materials issue), or touch-ups needed by his subcontractors. If we had to cite a minor downside, it would be that a few of the subs weren't perfect when it came to detail or clean-up (but, again, Jonathan followed through when we raised these issues). Overall, we're very happy with Metropolis, and would recommend!

We were incredibly lucky to work with Jonathan from Metropolis Drafting and Construction on a big kitchen remodel and HVAC system replacement on our home. We had walls taken down/moved, old cabinets and counters removed, new cabinets, counters, backsplash, and lighting installed. The design turned a small kitchen into a large spacious one that has been perfect for our family. In summary, I highly recommend them for their background in design, attention to detail, and ability to complete the work on schedule and within budget. I could not be happier with how everything turned out. Jonathan was extremely responsive, attentive, and detail oriented from the time I contacted him until the job was complete (and beyond). One unique aspect of working with Jonathan over other contractors I spoke with was that he had a background that enabled him to help with the design and aesthetics. He generated 3D models to help visualize different things we could do with the space, and we ended up choosing something different (and much better) than what I originally envisioned. Jonathan was also very patient with my indecisiveness and helped in choosing cabinets, countertops, and backsplash, kindly steering me away from things that would not look good. The remodel was completed in the timeframe promised and within our budget. Added costs from the original quote were minimal and only due to small things that couldn’t be determined before beginning construction. I was prepared for the job to take longer than estimated based on others experience, but the sub-contractors were always here when Jonathan said they would be and work was always done on schedule, if not sooner. The sub-contractors all did a fantastic, professional job and were very friendly. Jonathan also provided great recommendations for cabinets, counters, and backsplash. It seems that Jonathan has carefully chosen a great group of people to work with. I highly recommend Metropolis Drafting and Construction for any project, and they will be the first I call for any future jobs around my home.

We worked with Jonathan remodeling our kitchen, enclosing our patio, and transforming our current mudroom into a small, light-filled office. Although we were expecting COVID-related delays and inflation, the project was straightforward, and change orders were kept to a minimum and communicated clearly. They did not veer far from what we had prepared for. What we appreciated the most about working with Jonathan was his responsiveness and communication with us from beginning to end AND his wonderful team of subs. We credit the details of our custom kitchen to Sammy's carpentry skills and Mauricio's sanding and staining expertise. We worked with Jonathan on a full house remodel that included the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, framing, electrical upgrades, and more. Overall, I'm extremely happy with how the remodel turned out and I'd pick Metropolis again for any future work. Jonathan and his crew were able to deliver on the vision we had for our home. A couple of key points: - Jonathan has a keen attention to detail; everything was extremely thought out. He took the time to take us to his kitchen cabinet and countertop suppliers, and together we were able to design our dream kitchen. We were able to get 3D designs of potential layouts, which helped visualize the space and inform our decision. - No corners were cut throughout the project. We got honest, top-quality work without compromises. - He handled everything with the city permitting and inspectors. Everything was done up to code and passed the first time. - Communication was excellent. We got constant updates about project status and what was being worked on. We had lots of questions throughout the process, and Jonathan was always able to provide a timely and patient answer. Even on weekends and holidays. - Jonathan is a true problem solver. On the rare occasion we had an issue (like old plumbing or sagging floors), he was able to provide creative and robust solutions. - The project stayed within time and budget expectations. Especially during a period of parts and labor shortages worldwide, I am very grateful that. We first met Jonathan in October 2021 right around the time that we were closing on our current condo. As we had been living in this home, and renting, for about 2 years, we had already had some ideas brewing about the updates we wanted to make. When Jonathan came over for a consultation, we walked him through what we wanted to do in our kitchen and bathrooms and he let us know the best way to go about this. He took measurements when he was there so he was prepared to answer future questions over the phone or email. We sent him a few ideas of the design that we were looking for in each room. So after giving us a thoroughly drafted quote and a timeline (6-8 weeks for completion!), he also sent us links for items we could purchase ahead of time in order to be able to stick to the timeline as closely as possible - nothing frustrates a contractor like having to pause their project because they’re wait for items to still come in! I was so impressed that Jonathan took time to bring me to multiple stores. He took time to show me different tiles and countertop materials that were aligned with the design ideas I initially sent him. This was a very different (and much more pleasant!) experience than a previous contractor who just directed me to websites to pick out floor/ tile materials and then I was left on my own to choose, with little to no guidance. We scheduled Jonathan to have his team start on demo work while we were going to be out of town. This step of the process went surprisingly quickly! I will say that it’s not the easiest to live through a remodel (if you have the money or could go somewhere else for the entirety of it, that would be ideal). But, with that said, his team was beyond respectful of our space and they carefully sealed off the areas they were working on and covered the floors, so as to limit the dust and debris as best as possible. Jonathan left us paint samples to choose from for wall color and cabinet colors. Narrowing down which “white” to use on walls is a task in itself and I was relieved that Jonathan was able to narrow down my choices to only 2 or 3 colors (again, based on pictures I had sent). The white we ultimately chose looks beautiful and fresh in our west and south facing bathrooms! The final outcome of his team’s work was perfection. Everything came together beautifully and we couldn’t be happier with the results! (His tile guy does impeccable work - so impressed!) Take a look at the pictures that I attached and see for yourself! Jonathan is the best. Everyone warned me that home renovations would be difficult. I can say I had the opposite of that experience. We converted a 2 bd 1 bath house to 4/4. The entire scope of work was done with us living out of state. I rarely visited the home and Jonathan would send weekly updates. He stayed on schedule and on budget (even when lumber prices went up 4 times). He is honest, detailed, responsive, and extremely skilled architect and construction manager. This was my first time doing a home remodel project and didn't know what I didn't know. So when I first spoke with Jonathan (the owner) on the phone to set up an initial meeting and met Omri in person for the first project meeting, I knew I had to find someone who would 1) listen to what I wanted, 2) collaborate with me to improve upon my ideas, and 3) educate me in the process along the way. Jonathan did the design and construction of a remodel that involved our kitchen, dining room, family room, and guest bath. My previous remodels had been very stressful. After interviewing nearly 10 contractors, we were impressed with Jonathan’s communication and straightforward pricing. During our design phase he was very collaborative and didn’t make me feel rushed in spite of numerous design changes. His renderings made it easy for us to imagine the new space. We worked with Jonathan Litinsky of Metropolis Drafting & Construction for our ADU project and had a very positive experience. Firstly, it was helpful to have everything in one place. Jonathan went over design ideas, drew up the architectural plans and managed the project from start to finish. The structure itself was fairly small (350sf garage conversion), but the layout and several of the design choices made the space feel much larger. This was the largest project we’ve done, and It was filled with anxiety-inducing bumps. Along the way, Jonathan was very responsive, quick to explain things and made the process more bearable. His design sense and suggestions (from appliances to tiles) helped make the place looks and feel great. We are very happy with the final product - a beautiful ADU that we can use for family and friends.

Over the years, I have asked family, friends, and colleagues for a reputable contractor but no one could recommend one that was not, in some way, dishonest, or less than trustworthy. They all recounted contractor horror stories... I finally decided to ask for recommendations from my neighbors on the Nextdoor app to build an ADU; thank goodness I did! Jonathan Litinsky is a gem in the world of construction!! He is extremely honest, reasonable, and reliable. His fees are fair—he also will make things right if there are any problems or on the job mishaps; right away, without hesitation! I had an old manual sprinkler control box that functioned well; during the garage tear down, the exterior door closure for the sprinkler broke off, even though the box still worked. When I mentioned to him, he replaced it immediately with a new wireless controller so I can now water my lawn no matter where I am. I didn’t ask him nor did I expect him to replace it—I merely wanted a new handle to open the door. Unbeknownst to me, one of the sprinkler pipes had been broken. It was about 6:00 PM when I discovered it—I texted Jonathan—he had the plumber come out after hours around 7:00 PM even though it wasn’t an emergency. I also thought that I smelled gas coming from the unit at 9:30 at night; other contractors might have sent someone out in the morning to check it out; not Jonathan—he sent the plumber to my home at 10:00 PM. One evening (after his crew had been working on the electricity for the ADU), half of my home didn’t have power. I went out, turned the circuit breaker on and off, which somehow cut the power to my home. I called Jonathan, he offered to pay for all the food in the refrigerator even though it wasn’t his crew’s fault (it turned out that I had a faulty circuit). Jonathan is a designer and is always open to give his opinion on whatever ideas you might have. I frequently texted him on Saturdays and Sundays and always received a response. He is patient as well and will send you as many layouts for your project as you would like at no additional charge. He also was willing to have his installer to put up a porch light for me on my home (not in the ADU) for no extra charge. Jonathan is an honorable person, which is what makes doing business with him such a pleasure!!

Jonathan is a rare find, look no further! We recently completed a major kitchen remodel with several smaller projects throughout the house and cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Jonathan was the first person we spoke to and we were so impressed with him that we ended our search. We made the absolute right decision and he designed and built us a brand new stunning kitchen. Jonathan and his team are nothing short of amazing. They are an absolute pleasure to work with! From the moment we met him, we knew that our home and finances would be in excellent hands. We liked him so much that we didn't even interview any other contractors/architects (which is pretty risky given that we were doing a pretty major home renovation: we turned our kitchen into a bedroom, knocked down walls and needed 2 21-foot support beams, built an entirely new kitchen and redid the floors in the entire home). Our gut instincts were spot-on, and thankfully, Jonathan was every bit as wonderful to work with as he seemed that first day. He was very involved in the process and came pretty much daily to check on the quality of the work. He's trustworthy, caring, responsive, thorough, and just a really great guy to have around. My kids LOVED him, and still ask about him at times. Speaking of kids, we have 3 very small children and lived in the house during almost the entire remodel, and Jonathan worked out a plan so that we would have a functional kitchen throughout. Shockingly, everything went as planned... he was ON SCHEDULE or even ahead of schedule, almost the entire time. I think the only time we got pushed back a few days unexpectedly was from rain. One of the things that I most appreciated about Jonathan is his attention to detail and very high standards. In fact, on several instances Jonathan made his team redo some of the work (i.e. repaint our entire ceiling), because he felt it didn't meet his standards, even though I hadn't noticed any imperfection until he pointed it out. I don't think many contractors operate that way. At one point we travelled abroad for 2 weeks... My husband was super-nervous about being away while the hardwood floors were being done, and Jonathan seriously went above and beyond to keep us in the loop and involved every day. The best way to describe what a genuinely good man Jonathan is: on the day we came back, he spent over an hour helping my dad re-construct all of our kid's cribs (that's 3 cribs) just so that they'd be ready for naptime when we got back from our trip. I was dreading the home renovation process, especially since most of my friends have had an incredibly stressful time with their projects. I think my husband and I are rarities because we actually enjoyed the process, and I know that's 90% because of what an amazing contractor Jonathan is, and how smooth he made the process. One who is all of these things: TRUSTWORTHY, TALENTED, & ON SCHEDULE. And if you‘re really lucky, someone who could even talk to you like a friend. This could be asking a lot from one contractor but I have to tell you, you get all of these traits from Jonathan and Team. He handled everything from: -Architectural Design (w 3/D renders) -Blueprinting -Foundation -Plumbing -Electrical -Framing / Drywall -Roofing -Stucco / Painting -Tile -Flooring -Windows -Cabinets -Lighting -Finishing touches (Interior & Exterior) ALL ON TIME We actually were caught of guard a few times from how quickly things were moving along! It helps that he is Organized; setting up Milestones to help with Tracking Progress as well as setting up Payments as the project progressed. Burbank is tricky to deal with to boot; with all of their stringent rules and ordinances, but Jonathan was there to side with us every step of the way; he really made that part of the process easy enough to deal with. Construction projects are a real challenge (to say the least); I’d be ignorant to say that everything goes perfectly. But if you want close to “Perfect”, Do yourself a favor and start with Jonathan and his Team (Metropolis Drafting and Construction Inc.) You’ll thank me later.

Jonathan is amazing! He made an overwhelming task much easier to handle by his organization and assistance with offering choices and ideas for tiles, countertops and more. Where do I start? The job was to create a master bathroom from a shared bathroom, add a powder room, remodel the kitchen and living room. From there the project grew. I was referred to Jonathan by pure chance. He was one of 3 contractors that I interviewed to remodel my home. During our first meeting, he listened as we walked through. He returned about a week later with a 3-d version and a written plan for the remodel. He was clear with pricing. He had a computer program on his laptop that allowed us to play with the floor space. There were multiple meetings to discuss ideas before construction was started. From the time construction started, Jonathan kept in constant contact. I told him from the beginning that I worked best with deadlines. He did his best to keep me on target so the different phases of construction could be completed. I will admit that especially in the beginning decisions were difficult – too many different tiles, patterns, material! But he gently nudged and set deadlines out for me. During the construction phase, he explained what to expect. I was so impressed by the quality of his workers. They were respectful of my home and place. We met regularly to review the progress. Jonathan not only provided the construction but also provided many of the ideas that live in my home!

We knew we wanted to work with Jonathan for our guest house project from the beginning. We interviewed a lot of other professionals, but they were either too "salesy, too expensive or didn't inspired us enough confidence for the project. Jonathan was straight to the point, honest and very easy to communicate with. Jonathan worked on the project, the approval process and took care of the construction for us. We never had to worry about anything and the job was completed on the time proposed, which I hear is very rare nowadays. The guest house looks great, as they took care of every detail for us and I had a great experience working with Jonathan and everyone at Metropolis overall. I absolutely love the remodel Amit did in my bathroom and kitchen!!! Such a big difference it made in making my home feel like home again. He even discovered the shower pipe was leaking behind the wall and made sure it was taken care of. The bathroom has never looked better, after seamlessly installing recessed lighting, beautiful tile work in the shower and floors, and the gorgeous vanity sink. Not to mention the new cabinets and expansion of the tiny kitchen I had into an open floor plan kitchen, letting in more light into the dark hall I used to call my kitchen. Amit was very professional, friendly, time and cost efficient, and kept me up to date throughout the whole process. I couldn’t have asked for a better contractor.

I have worked with several contractors in the past but he far exceeded my expectations not only in the execution of the project but also in his good character and professionalism. Living in Tennessee and successfully completing a project in CA would have been impossible had it not been for his dedication from start to finish which I learned I could rely on. Through close communication during the project which consisted of work from top to bottom to bring a 1922 home to current standards, I benefited from Jonathan's excellent sense of design, attention to detail, and willingness to listen carefully to my requests and respond in a timely manner. This was our first home renovation so we were nervous about picking a contractor. We met with several contractors before we decided to go with Jonathan, whom we met through a referral. We met him for the consultation and really appreciated how thorough and patient he was in answering all our questions and concerns. For our kitchen renovation, we wanted to open up our galley kitchen to become a more functional and modern space. Our house was built in the 1920’s, so we had a wall separating our dining room to our kitchen and pantry room. Our project involved knocking down 3 walls, 1 being a foundation wall, rewiring electrical, gas, plumbing, pretty much a full gut. It required a lot of coordination and scheduling between various workers (ie cabinet installation, countertops, plumbing, electrical, inspector etc) which was all taken care of and supervised by Jonathan personally…. We really appreciate the fact that he only hired people who were proficient in their expertise only (ie the backsplash person was not the one doing your floors also). Every person who was in our house was respectful and made sure to clean up afterward. Our kitchen renovation project took a total of 8 weeks. Jonathan was good at updating us each time with our progress and always available to answer my calls/text in a timely manner which made this process less stressful. We also had a certain budget in mind, so he made sure to stay within our initial estimate. He is detail oriented, knowledgeable and takes great pride in the quality of his work. The best part was that Jonathan was able to recreate the curve walls which matched our original 1929 Spanish Tudor home. We just finished a project with Metropolis and had a great experience. We decided to add on a master suite (~400 sq. ft.) to our existing home. We received quotes from multiple contractors and chose Metropolis because of their eye for design, competitive price and great attitude. The project was far from simple but Jonathan managed each step effectively and kept us informed throughout the whole process. His design aesthetic was a huge plus and something that we found lacking in other contractors. Our bathroom is absolutely beautiful and my favorite part of the addition. He recommended herringbone wall tile and pattered floor tile that made the bathroom Pinterest worthy! Also, he was always professional and was very accommodating at meeting with us at odd hours due to our work schedules. We also welcomed our first child in the middle of the project (!) and Jonathan and his crew were always respectful of our time and space once the baby was home. Overall, we are thrilled with the addition and grateful to Jonathan for making it happen.

We had a total bath remodel. Our original suite bath had no wall, a sunken concrete bathtub, a large picture window that exposed us to world view while sitting. Jonathan designed a more private and modern bath with floating toilet and vanity. From demo to completion, he checked in periodically to ensure our approval of various stages in construction. He had a foreman who visited regularly. When we noted problems he was quick to respond. We are pleased with the result. And we love our white beveled subway tile! Thanks Jonathan and Guy!

We recently completed a major remodeling of our home, involving reconfiguring our kitchen layout, installing all new custom cabinets and appliances, replacing all flooring, opening a wall, upgrading the stair bannisters from wood to wrought iron, installation of french doors, wall paneling and tiling, and painting We selected Jonathan and his company Metropolis Drafting & Construction to be our primary design architect and contractor after interviewing several companies. We could not be any happier with our choice. Jonathan is a true professional, and a rarity in the world of contracting. He is an architect by training, and has an outstanding design eye. Jonathan made countless recommendations to us on layouts, coloring and choice of materials that really helped us to land on a design and materials that we loved. He gained a quick understanding of our tastes in style and color, and all of his design recommendations were presented in very easy to visualize 3D drawings. Once we started construction Jonathan was on top of every step and detail in the demolition and construction process. He advised us up front on all of the projected costs, including detailed cost breakouts when requested. Our project was projected to run for 4-5 months, and we finished right on time due to Jonathan's outstanding focus on scheduling his work crews and ensuring materials were available when needed. Jonathan and his crews did all of the work compliant with local county building codes, and Jonathan personally managed the entire building permit and approval process to successful completion. As with any construction project, there will always be one or two small issues that surface after a job is completed, like a cracked tile or small paint or stain blemishes. Jonathan warrants all of his work, and he absolutely backs his warranty as evidenced by our experiences with him. We absolutely love the results of our remodeling project. We recently remodeled our home however our contractor didn’t work on stair bannisters or know of anyone who did. We had a large, circular wood bannister and wanted to replace it with a more contemporary iron bannister with a wood handrail. We interviewed 4-5 bannister contractors who were referred to us or we found on the internet. None of them could figure out a way to accomplish the look we wanted. Jonathan entered the picture when we happened to see a stunning remodel he did at a nearby house that coincidently had a stair bannister similar to what we wanted. After getting a feel for what we were envisioning, Jonathan produced a few designs that we loved. The design we selected was not inexpensive but, after observing the amount of work and detailed precision required of the subcontractors, we understood that the cost was completely in line with the work involved. Jonathan supervised the project from start to finish in a very orderly fashion, coordinated with the contractor doing the wood flooring on the steps, and made sure that each stage was flawless before the next stage began. The final staircase is exactly what we had envisioned and Jonathan completely captured the look we wanted. The result in fact exceeded our expectations due to his suggestions and direction. He was on site to approve each step and met with us several other times to discuss colors and design choices as the project progressed. His right-hand man, Guy, was here to oversee the work as well and was also a pleasure to deal with. And we must say that Vinny, who painted the wood hand rail was a true artist and perfectionist. Jonathan has great vision, unmatched integrity, and was simply a wonderful person to work with throughout our project. Jonathan and his crew at Metropolis are extremely well organized and forthcoming, two of the most important qualities you can have in a contractor. From the very beginning of the project, Jonathan was honest with us about costs, timelines, and materials and never moved forward with any of the work without first giving us all the details of the work and gaining our approval. We knew who would be showing up, what work they would be doing and when they would arrive. If ever anything changed, we were notified by Jonathan immediately. Building or renovating a home is an extremely stressful endeavor and Jonathan is excellent at managing all the different aspects of this process. He is present on the job site, and always on top of whatever his workers are doing so there is no worry that the job is progressing without proper supervision. Before we did any work to the kitchen or bathrooms, Jonathan sat with us and showed us 3D architectural renderings of all the designs he created for each room and made any adjustments we wanted right there, in person. He is both a skilled designer and architect. He made excellent recommendations for materials, vendors, colors, and accessories to help us achieve the look and feel of the home that we had envisioned. Making all those decisions on your own can be extremely difficult and having someone with his level of knowledge and expertise is helpful beyond description! All of the work that Jonathan and his crew performed was done 100% to code, inspected, and signed off by regulators. There was no cutting of corners, no cheap fixes or sweeping under the rug. As a result, our kitchen is the envy of our neighborhood and our new bathrooms feel like a spa at a 5-star hotel! We are in love with our new home and we have Jonathan and his amazing crew at Metropolis to thank for it. We are already planning our next renovation to the exterior of the house and will be using them again for sure! Thank you, Jonathan!

We screened at least 5 contractors before settling on Jonathan and his team. We had three bathrooms to completely remodel and miscellaneous items around the home to redo. Jonathan took us through the entire process and provided us with accurate estimates. He accommodated the inevitable changes along the way and assisted with the entire process from design to selecting fixtures. We are very happy with the outcome and plan on using his team to remodel our Kitchen next year. The only bad thing is I used to look forward to traveling, so that I could use the shower at the hotel. I recently stayed at the Trump Tower and it’s bathrooms didn’t come close to mine, so I have lost the only positive of business travel.

We recently used Metropolis for a full floor to ceiling renovation of our kitchen. Jonathan was fantastic. He made suggestions based on our input and we couldn't be happier with the final product. We have a historical home so maintaining the "period" was paramount to us. He gave us many good ideas and followed through. I would use him again on future projects.

We hired Jonathan for a major remodeling project in our home that included taking down a wall that was very risky and complicated task. Through out the project, Jonathan was very honest, thorough professional and kept us up todate in the progress and any issues that arose. We found this company because they were doing a project on our neighborhood. We asked if they would come to our house to give us an estimate for painting the trim on our house. They did. They gave us ideas on paint selections. They came back a few days later and suggested they if we painted the whole house it would be a better value for our money. We agreed. The proposes project was for 14 days. The project was completed in about 3 days. The work was well done professionally. They paid attention to details of the house. Our project was a complete remodel/redesign of our kitchen. We received the initial free design consultation form Jonathan about a month ago, he proposed about 4 layout options and was very easy to work with (we asked for many changes and variations) at our third meeting we found the perfect combination and signed the contract. The material selection was fast and easy as well he took us to a few of his suppliers to select the tiles, the plumbing fixtures we selected online with his guidance. the remodeling it self took about two weeks which is not that bad, we stayed on budget which is extra nice. The best thing i can say about working with Jonathan is how easy going he is and gives you a lot of security knowing that he is willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the process.

Metro did the design and drafted the plans for the remodeling i did on my new house that we purchased in Burbank. The design ideas and the help provided were superb! there was no limitation on the amount of drafts we could have and the 3d modeling helped us understand what we are getting. we also contracted them to do the construction process itself, the attention to details was very high, the project was completed on time and Jonathan worked with us on all the little changes we asked for during the actual remodeling process.

Our firm had the pleasure of working at the same time as Metropolis in the same residence. Its great to find a company that is meticulous and well organized as Metro. the project was completed on time, the crew were extremely tidy and the clients were happy as well. We bought a craftsman house in Burbank last December and as we moved in we started to realize how compartmentalized it is :/We invited a few contractor to give us ideas on how to redesign the place. When Jon showed up and started throwing ideas and doodling sketchs we fell in love imidiatly with his concepts.He opened our kitchen to the living room and designed a den with iron and glass doors.And a huge deck at our back yard with double French doors opening from the living space.The project took about 2 months to completeAnd we finished around our budget so I'm happy.Note to all doe framing work is very dusty, the crew was cleaning a bit in the end of each day but still.Anyways thank you Jon for building a dream home for me and Mark! We love the new open floor plan.

Was very impressed. Great recommendations that helped my kitchen look absolutely beautiful. The process was smooth and accommodating, Started with a free estimate at my home and then a second meeting where the designer brought us a basic layout plan and a computerized 3D model of the proposed kitchen. Once we agreed on the price Jonathan said we should first select all materials before we start the accrual demolition to prevent delays and wow was he right. It took me and my husband 3 weeks until we selected the finish materials so thank god we listened to Jonathan and didn't start right away. The actual construction process was good as well, a bit dusty during the demolition and once again during the drywall stage but the guys cleaned the place up after completion so I'm really happy and give Jonathan and metropolis 5 starts.

All I had were pictures from a magazine. I asked to make my master bedroom and my master bath look like these pictures. In less then a week these sample pictures paled in comparison to the work Metropolis performed at my house. I enjoy my bathroom so much more now. Thank you guys

To describe my experience in one word I would use "Wow"! I wanted to extend my house by an additional 300 sq. to get a bigger kitchen and a nice sized dinning room. The nightmare of having all kinds of weird and non proffesionals giving us estimates for the construction was way too much on us. Until My neighbor recommended Evgene from Metropolis. This guy did a free layout and 3D model for us before we even signed the contract. The price was more then reasonable. And the most important part the work was completed within the time frame. So bottom line, if you need a job well done call Evgene from Metropolis!

I had the pleasure of having jonathan working on my kitchen remodeling, he did a great job with the redesigning process. i now have so much more storage space and extra work space on my counter! the price was a bit above my budget but in the end i must say the result was worth it. highly recommended.
