My name is Michael Dixon. I began my working life as an apprentice toolmaker at Avdels in Welwyn Garden City. When I became qualified I took a job as a toolmaker at a small company called Giffex Limited on Albert Street in St. Albans. After several years I became interested in decorating and left for a job as a trainee decorator, working for a friend in North London. I soon found that I had a flair for this sort of work. My background in precision engineering stood me in good stead. I started my own decorating business in December 1979 and within one year I had started to employ other decorators because I found I had too much work to handle on my own. My wife, Janet, handles the vast majority of the office work for me. Almost thirty eight years later we have accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge and we feel we can solve most of your decorating needs. The key to our success is to provide you with a really good service and to be flexible to fit in with your needs, whether you are having one room decorated or the whole house.
