About Us

Molly Erin Carter is a northern California based interior designer who creates distinct interiors merging modern & traditional design elements. Her 17 years of extensive experience while living in California's most energetic & inspiring cities- Los Angeles and San Francisco, have defined her concept of high design and expressed her ultrachic aesthetic. Since opening her design firm, Molly Erin Designs, in 2010, Molly has collaborated with clients to deliver interior spaces for both living and working that are edgy yet attainable. Her meticulous attention to detail and demand for excellence sets her apart. Working by referral, Molly is devoted to developing long-lasting relationships with clients, craftsman and artists involved. In 2019 Molly opened a boutique retail shop- Brass + Oak at 320 Main St. Placerville, CA 95667. The shop is an evolving selection of furniture, lighting, area rugs and home goods and is located in front of the design studio. In addition to her Interior Design services, Molly also joined RE/MAX Gold Placerville in 2016. Her 13 years as a highly sought after Interior Designer sets Molly apart. Her exquisite design eye and knowledge of the remodeling process will be of utmost value to clients both looking to buy and prepare for the sale of their home. Molly is fantastic! She designed and helped oversee our laundry/ mud room and powder bath addition and the renovation of our kitchen and existing bathroom. Her designs are beautiful - fresh, interesting, a perfect marriage of form and function AND she really captured our style and our home post reno feels like it is as it was always meant to be. We COULD NOT be happier. Plus she is incredibly organized, detail oriented and on top of things - trust me we had a remarkably smooth reno with no surprises and Molly was key in achieving such a remarkable feat! Also she just a really nice, down to earth person- we are so lucky to have found her!

Molly was prompt and professional. We moved locally, so she came to look at the 'old' house and its contents, and helped plan the decor of the 'new', smaller house. She understood my color scheme and planned how to paint and paper the walls of the new house, found a new smaller sofa and an area rug to fit. It was reassuring to have her say 'yes, that's good, no, that's not' while we worked together. She hung many of our paintings herself, a huge help.
