Morrissey Saypol Interiors provides all aspects of interior design services to the discerning home owner. Elise and Liz are committed to meeting the needs of their clients with style, sensibility and enthusiasm. They design with a "classic contemporary" approach, mixing antiques with modern elements to artfully create cohesive spaces with a couture level of detail. Elise and Liz take pride in understanding their client's vision and design goals and are comfortable working in all decorative styles to realize the full potential of a project. Elise and Liz welcome projects nationwide. BIOGRAPHIES: Drawing on her extensive educational and professional background in art, art history and design, Elise Morrissey Russo has over a decade of experience in creating contemporary designs grounded in classical aesthetics. A graduate of the New York School of Interior Design, she has worked for David Easton Interiors and spent six years as a head designer for Mariette Himes Gomez, one of Architectural Digest's Top 100 Designers. Prior to focusing on interior design, Elise cultivated her interest in art and antiques working at the galleries of Didier Aaron and Barry Friedman. Elise is an alumna of the Dana Hall School and Boston College, where she majored in Art History and English. Educated and trained in both architecture and interior design, Elizabeth Brush Saypol draws on her experience in both fields to create tailored and harmonious interiors built upon clients' tastes and the practical needs for each space. A cum laude graduate of Princeton University, where she majored in Architecture, Liz practiced as an apprentice architect for Hilton-VanderHorn, a residential architecture firm in Greenwich, Connecticut. As an interior designer, Liz spent nearly five years working for Mariette Himes Gomez in New York City and has a degree from the New York School of Interior Design. In 2010, Elise and Liz combined their talent, vision, and experience to establish Morrissey Saypol Interiors, a full-service, client-focused interior design firm. With over 30 combined years of experience in the design industry, their partnership and methods are enhanced by the balance of their strengths and talents. They have completed projects nationwide, including New York City, North Palm Beach, and Boston.

I couldn’t be happier with the rooms Morrissey Saypol Interiors decorated for me. I would highly recommend them for their efficiency and timely completion of each project. Their visions are full of fun patterns and color yet refined and elegantly classic at the same time. From our master bedroom to family room to current guest room project, it’s been a wonderful experience working with Liz Saypol. She is clearly a professionally trained interior designer with an excellent eye for nuance and flow yet understanding of our young family and the need for practicality. I am grateful for her gentle ‘course correcting’ and clear vision at the beginning of each project and her wonderful understanding of balance and scale. I look forward to many more projects with Morrissey Saypol Interiors.

Morrisey Saypol Interiors did a fantastic job for us in participating in design, finish and furnishing choices of our new construction home. They were always responsive, never needed to be reminded of details, communicated well with our builder and architect, and were responsive and respectful to our desires of what roles we wanted them to play (and not play) throughout the process. Options and choices for furnishings and finishes of different spaces were cohesive and presented concisely and thoughtfully, making the process extremely easy to navigate and never feeling overwhelming from our perspective as owners. They also coordinated the shipping/storage/delivery of all furnishings seamlessly to the point where we barely ever gave it a thought other than scheduling delivery dates. Lastly and as important as any, they proved excellent at working with our budget, both in tracking costs vs budget item-by-item along the way, and in presenting choices that often beat our budgets significantly and that we still loved. Liz was a pleasure to work with on the day-to-day of everything, and the entire experience left us feeling surprised at how easy it had felt, and that we most definitely got our money's worth on everything we worked together on. We would recommend Morrisey Saypol Interiors to anyone working on a similar project.

It was a pleasure to work with Elise and Liz on our kitchen and family room projects in our New Canaan, Connecticut home. We were very impressed with their incredible eyes for color, light, texture, and style. They listened to our preferences and ideas and captured the transitional style we like in the elegant, beautiful, and functional rooms they created. We receive many compliments on both rooms. We also appreciated that Liz and Elise coordinated all steps of the project including checking all items for quality control prior to installing them and handling all aspects of the installation. We wholeheartedly recommend them and will work with them again in the future.

Liz and Elise did an excellent job helping us give our entire house a major facelift. They worked with us to choose paint colors, wallpapers and carpets throughout the home. They effectively ran the renovation, meeting with our contractor and getting bids for various parts of the jobs while both of us were working full-time in the city. The largest part of the job was a full gut renovation of our master bathroom which balanced beauty and functionality while staying within our budget. Liz and Elise are extremely organized; they kept us on task and kept the project moving forward with our budget and timeline in mind always. We highly recommend Morrissey Saypol Interiors.

Elise Morrissey and Liz Saypol of Morrissey Saypol Interiors designed the interior of my North Palm Beach, Florida home from the design phase through completion. I simply can't say enough about the talent, professionalism, attention to detail, and fiscal responsibility of these designers. My vision was to create a clean Scandinavian-influenced home that felt traditional but brought in some modernist elements. Elise and Liz listened and brought these elements to life. The architect and builder on the project both raved about Elise and Liz's ability to deliver, both in terms of meeting deadlines and communicating effectively. As a bonus, they are FUN to work with, and they bring a refined, but youthful energy to their work.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with interior designers Elizabeth Saypol and her partner Elise Morrissey when we were asked to team up for the renovation of a splendid antique house in Stamford CT. While Morrissey Saypol transformed the interior spaces in a sophisticated and serene style, they also collaborated with me on the design direction of the gardens to reflect the relaxed formality and colors scheme used indoors. The teamwork paid off and the gardens transformed a back yard driveway into a series of garden rooms and terraces. Delightful views from inside the house are now of spilling flower gardens, terraces, climbing roses and clematis. I loved working with these 2 professional designers - they have wonderful ideas and a lovely sense of design. Their team updated two bathrooms in my house, from tired and dated to warm and sunny with a great attention to detail that matched our needs. Following this renovation I was excited to ask Morrissey Saypol Interiors to help with some little changes around the house that with their expertise really made a dramatic difference in each room. Liz and Elise are warm and enthusiastic professionals who readily grasped our taste and color preferences for the furnishings of our yacht. Their design presentations were well organized with just the right amount of options presented They carefully guided us on where to splurge and where to conserve. The project was completed five years ago and still seems fresh and beautiful. Recently, they have been helping with the design of our new home and their ability to work with architectural plans and conceive space has been invaluable. We highly recommend their firm.

Commented: what is the wall color?Glad you like it! The wall color (above the fireplace) is 891 Pearl River, and the paint color in the butler's pantry is the same as the kitchen island, CW-700 Slate. Both are Benjamin Moore colors.
