Nature's Realm

Nature’s Realm designed and implemented a landscaping plan for our front and back yards, including irrigation. We had a number of conversations to talk about what my husband and I wanted, and the results are great. We get tons of compliments, and I appreciate that we have such a variety of interesting plants and not just the same things everyone else has. Kevin and Julio came up with a beautiful plan and have kept our yard looking great for the last few years. Julio comes anytime we have an issue or need refreshing, and he maintains our irrigation and keeps our plants looking healthy, and Sergio is super dependable on weekly maintenance and special projects (like covering plants during a freeze). Anytime I have a landscape-related need, I reach out, and they respond promptly.

Kevin, Julio and Sergio with Nature's Realm did a fantastic job. They did a full front yard and backyard landscaping project for us along with an herb/vegetable garden that included raised planter beds, flagstone patio work, irrigation repair/install, new lawn turf and the best selection of plants curated to specifically to our feedback and what would work best with are specific environment. It was also a challenging project in that they had to take over from a previous contractor/landscaper that had went out of business and had left our yard a baren mess, so finding someone like them with Nature's Realm to take over where someone else left off was great. Kevin is excellent at helping us choose all the right plants, trees and hardscaping, Julio was fantastic at implementing, fixing, laying stone and planting everything and Sergio does an amazing job as our weekly landscaper keeping everything looking great and immaculate. Kevin and his company were fantastic in designing and installing our new landscaping. When we bought our house it was surrounded mostly by grass. We are on a corner lot and have an inner courtyard encompassing most of the length of our house. The courtyard was all grass and had no character at all. We also have an area outside the courtyard that was mostly grass along the sidewalk. And a front yard that has grass and a reasonably large raised bed. The design that Nature’s Realm gave us was built around my love of variety in plants, flowers and diversity. A great deal of the work was inside the courtyard where there was a small bricked area where we decided to put bricked raised beds for vegetables and herbs -all the lovely brick work was performed by Kevin and his group. There was also an essentially unused brick patio towards the back of the house . They expanded the patio and put in a lovely outdoor kitchen that is mostly protected from the weather and placed open shelving in there for a large variety of succulents. The grass in the courtyard was completely removed and square brick pathway stones were placed meandering along the length it. All the area around the pathway was filled in with a huge variety of perennials and annuals that Kevin helped us pick out. They built an arbor for climbing roses that separated the driveway from the courtyard for privacy and installed a beautiful water feature/fountain near the outdoor kitchen. Of course they also installed and updated the irrigation system to keep everything beautiful. They also did wonderful work outside the courtyard removing the grass along the sidewalk, installing large rocks and plantings under the existing crepe myrtles. Kevin , Julio and their workers were wonderful and we also use their maintenance people with Sergio heading up that work. We live in a very walkable neighborhood and are constantly getting praise for our landscaping!!

Nature's Realm has done consistently excellent work from concept through execution and maintenance to give our home a truly special yard. They fully designed, built, and maintained every aspect of our front and back yards, including irrigation, Shou Sugi Ban wooden deck, hardscaping, plant selection, planting, and plant care and yard maintenance. Kevin, Julio, and Sergio, are experts in native plants, and are exceptionally diligent and capable, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our pool and backyard were in need of a major facelift. While searching for a firm offering both landscaping design services and pool design/renovation, we happened upon Kevin Boyd at Nature’s Realm. Kevin partners with Chris Beauregard of BB Pools & Construction to provide pool design services along with landscape design. After our initial meeting with Kevin and Chris we felt they had the vision and knowledge to achieve the look we desired for our backyard. The scope of the work on our pool included installing new pavers over existing old pea gravel decking; removing a large rock waterfall and replacing with an updated water wall, resurfacing the pool, replacing the tile surround, replacing existing pool pumps and replacing lighting. Kevin’s landscape design incorporated some of our existing trees and shrubs with new shrubs, trees, flowers, and grassy areas with stepping stones, along with lovely white wash pots containing fruit trees and flowers to complement the remodeled pool. Kevin and Chris went above and beyond to help us with final design decisions. Before the project started, they spent time and energy bringing heavy paver samples to us so we could select the best match for the brick on our home. Once the project commenced, they were here daily monitoring progress, working right alongside their crews, and quickly addressing any questions and/or issues. The project was completed in a timely manner, and they have continued to be responsive to any questions we have had even after project completion. Their crews were hardworking, punctual, courteous and cleaned up the work areas on a daily basis. We are tremendously pleased with our new, beautiful and inviting backyard oasis and highly recommend Nature’s Realm and BB Pool & Construction.

When I first bought my house, I had a very clear idea of a special landscaping I wanted for my backyard. I met with a few landscapers and they all gave me the same boring ideas. I wanted something unique, lush, and interesting. Fast forward a couple of years later when I decided to try again and found Nature’s Realm. Immediately looking at their portfolio I clicked with their style of work. I contacted them, and Kevin Boyd showed up at my house. From the very first meeting I could tell that he understood what I was going for and had the background to deliver such a project. Throughout the way we had several modifications and consultations, which can always be stressful, but Kevin was always available to answer my questions or walk me through his thinking. In the end, I’ve got an amazing landscape and I can’t stop hosting people who all love the backyard.

We contacted Kevin based on reviews and photos of his projects on Houzz and are thrilled with the results. We didn’t really know what we wanted, but our tired, boring landscaping needed to go. Kevin took out all of our existing landscaping and started from scratch. The end result is beautiful, and like nothing we would have even known to ask for. There is such variety in the plants he used—height, color, texture. All of the work was done by the end of the summer 2018, and our landscaping made it through the winter beautifully. In addition to the landscaping work, Kevin coordinated with his contractors to install additional fencing and gutters on our home, and completely reworked our existing irrigation system. He was able to repurpose some stone we already had in creating a new walkway. The scope of our original project was the back yard, but we were so pleased with the work he did in the back that we have since had him work on the front as well. He does our weekly lawn maintenance as well, and he is responsive when we need any additional work done.

Finally I have my backyard sanctuary, thanks to Kevin and Nature's Realm! Even though my yard is small, all I wanted was no grass, to retain my current water feature, and lots and lots of flowers, bushes, and trees for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. I got exactly what I wanted! A useless fence was removed, current fences were repaired and painted, plant beds were extended, pavers were removed or realigned, existing large pots were repurposed for the citrus trees, irrigation and lighting were installed, and my existing granite column fountains fit nicely into the whole design. The plantings are beautiful, with wonderful textures, heights, and colors (no "matchy-matchy" for me), and they all made it through this winter's freeze. I have a place of happiness now that is absolutely beautiful! Kevin is definitely one-stop shopping with an eye for exquisite mixing of plantings.

Mr. Nature's Realm planted a couple very large trees right over our pool. Want to guess what happens every fall? I will give you a hint...lots and lots and lots of these "leafy things" fall off the trees and clog the pool and fill the back yard landscaped area such that even a 200 mph blower can't get them dislodged...Thanks Kevin for your professional design.

We love our new backyard! Kevin and Nature’s Realm did a great job listening to what we wanted – a place to retreat in the evenings, but also one where we could entertain, casual and comfortable. We wanted a more natural setting but fairly easy care. Kevin developed a plan that we never would have considered, and we are thrilled with the results – creative yet practical. His staff is friendly, with great craftmanship, and he is well-connected to a broad variety of well-priced contractors that he can coordinate.

We reached out to Kevin upon reviewing his previous projects on Houzz. Kevin came to our home for an initial consultation where we reviewed the scope of our landscaping project, which was for the most part to relandscape the entire back yard and dramatically enhance the front yard. We have been very pleased with the end result and it has been fun to watch everything grow and fill in two months after the planting. Kevin spent some quality time with us at both our home and the nursery to assist with plant selection. The planting was quick and the crew was professional. We definitely spent more than what we had originally planned for this project and felt like some of the plants could have been reduced in number to help us land closer to budget. That being said, the yard looks terrific and we are enjoying all of the plants and flowers plus spending the time to take care of our new investment.

Nature’s Realm did a fabulous job of transforming my small, shady, winter-worn back garden into a bright, colorful, and exciting space. Kevin Boyd’s vast knowledge of plants and innovative sense of design, together with Stephen’s technical competence and hard work, brought the vision to life, and created interest in every corner of my yard. Kevin and Stephen were both very professional from the first meeting to discuss ideas through the completion of the project. The lines of communication were always open, and they kept me involved throughout. All of the work was conducted efficiently and in a neat and orderly fashion, and it was a joy to come home from the office each day to discover the progress. We’ve been working with Kevin for over two years now, completely transforming our yard into a “botanical black-hole” with over 100 plant species, giving our yard a truly unique vibe. Kevin and crew have been wonderful to work with and would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is looking to undertake a similar project. My Wife and I wanted to give our yard a face lift after being affected by Hurricane Harvey. After contacting Nature's Realm, Kevin gave us a call and we scheduled a meeting where, in great detail he laid out the process, expectations, and showed us a few of his past projects. From there we had given him an idea of what we had in mind for our landscaping needs and before we even started we were presented with an amazing drawing of what they had planned on doing. It was amazing seeing what our landscape was going to be transformed into. It was even better once the final work was complete! Stephen was very involved with the project and once we had our to do list finalized he went hard to work to complete our landscaping in a timely manner. I couldn't have imagined the work he did coming out any better. They went above and beyond our expectations and stayed within our budget. It was a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to turn their yard into a beautiful escape from reality!

After purchasing a house in the Heights, we hired Nature's Realm to landscape our side and front yards. Initially, the fenced-in, side yard consisted of a long concrete walkway flanked by an overgrown hodgepodge of plants. Our hope was to convert the space into a more useable patio area. After sharing several images that we found on the internet, Kevin was able to create a space that met our needs perfectly. The craftsmanship of his team's work is outstanding and he does a great job of keeping you informed along the way. After wrapping up the work on our side yard, he moved on to tackling the challenging front yard (overgrown, shaded with no grass). We had less of a feel for what we wanted to do there, but Kevin had some fabulous ideas which he enthusiastically shared with us. He puts forth a lot of effort to understand your personality and tries to mesh that with the feel of your house and neighborhood. He understands the importance of light, symmetry (or lack thereof), and color schemes. He is truly a landscape artist. We are 100% happy with the final result of both areas and have even hired Kevin's team to handle our routine, week to week yard work. Kevin also still drops by to check on the status of our yard proving that he remains invested in his work even after the project is officially completed.

After we bought a new house several years ago we wanted to redo the backyard and so we began looking at landscape architects, reading reviews, and going on backyard tours. We kept coming back to the Nature's Realm website. We loved the look and feel of the Natures Realm projects. We finally made the call. Kevin came over one afternoon listened to what we wanted, took some pictures, measurements and notes. He came back with a design to which we made just a few modifications and now we have the backyard of our dreams. It is exactly what we wanted only better! We've worked with other contractors on dozens of projects over the years and I have to say without a doubt working with Natures Realm was our best experience. When we hire someone, we expect them to do what they say, do it right, and do it well. And Kevin and his crew did. It was a big job; resurfacing an existing patio and adding three more patios: one for a kitchen, one for a seating/dining area and one off the master bedroom. One got a roof, one a pergola. We wanted a place to vegetable garden and it is spectacular, functional and beautiful. We wanted fruit trees. We wanted color and plants and native plants and birds and butterflies. We wanted a pond. We wanted nighttime ambience. We wanted a certified wildlife space. Natures Realm delivered everything we wanted and more! Cesar is incredible and his work is first class. From the flagstone to the pergola to the pond he is a master with stone and rocks and wood. Kevin is an artist. The plants and colors and textures are a work of art. Our backyard is beautiful. It is an oasis. It was a big job and it did take months to complete,but it was worth it! We live in our backyard now! As I type this, my husband is grilling steaks, a grackle is bathing in the pond, a robin pecking in the flower bed, and at the bird feeders are doves, jays, cardinals and sparrows. We've had hummingbirds and butterflies and dragonflies. And did I mention toads? If you build it they will come! Natures Realm delivered everything we asked for and more. They created something we couldn't have even imagined. Kevin is professional and knowledgeable and patient. Cesar is a skilled craftsman. I highly recommend Natures Realm.

From the very first visit, Kevin Boyd’s goal was to make sure we had the prettiest yard in the neighborhood. Our house was being built so our job was a complete landscaping. There was no yard, no beds, no hard scaping. Kevin started by taking photographs from inside the house so that he could ensure that we would have pleasant scenes to view from every window. Special attention was paid to large window views to ensure that the view was proportionate to the scale of the window. This was a big project and it took several months to complete. It included building a retaining wall in the front of the house, a drainage system, a seven zone sprinkler system, a zoysia lawn, flower beds and a path that extended along one side of the house with two patio areas, seven trellises, a huge urn and a wall fountain. Kevin is very detailed oriented and included many suggestions that I would not have thought of, such as staining our fence to give it a more blended appearance. Kevin is extremely knowledgeable about what plants work well in the Houston environment and offered many suggestions about plants that I normally would not have considered. He insisted that “popcorn” drift roses would work well with my house and I reluctantly went along with his suggestion. Now they are one of my favorites plants in the landscaping. Since we were still in a construction phase, Kevin was able to have input into our driveway which is over 100 feet long. Kevin suggested that we might want to incorporate border beds along the fence line to break up that long swath of concrete. We did leave room for beds and it is a 100% more satisfying to see the length of the driveway with blooming plants rather than a board fence. We also have a pathway garden with trellises, a fountain and an arbor which is planted with butterfly attracting plants. The front yard has a “white” garden theme with plants that predominantly bloom in white. Kevin also created a parking area in the front of the house - we live in a neighborhood without street curbing so this was an important consideration for us. This was a challenging job, and Kevin provided great solutions to our unique needs. Kevin is very detailed oriented and meticulous about his work. He listens to his customers wants and desires. We love our yard and walkway. He did a fantastic job and I know we will enjoy them for many years to come. I highly recommend Natures Realm for your landscaping needs.

Our backyard consisted a large swath of grass, faced with the blank page we knew we wanted a garden, but not what we wanted. Kevin listened carefully, asked loads of questions and came up with the perfect design. Phase 1 was recently completed and absolutely exceeded our expectations. It is exactly what we wanted - even if we didn't know it at the time! I spent many an hour watching Kevin and Cesar work - the attention to detail is something to behold, stepping back from their work on a regular basis to make sure that it looked perfect from every sitting position. Kevin and his crew were polite and respectful, even during the messiest stages of construction they made sure that our old patio was hosed down on a regular basis, so that we could sit outside of a weekend and enjoy our new garden as it came to life. In short, would we use Nature's Realm again? Absolutely, I cannot wait for phase to to start in the Spring

We've used other landscape architects and designers and were extremely dissatisfied with the quality of service and price. After interviewing Kevin, it was clear that he had a passion for what he does and this became evident in his work, time and effort he put into our project. He delivered an exceptionally looking greenscape for the property in a very expedient time frame. They continue to perform the maintenance on the property, taking care of what they originally planted so that it continues to look beautiful. I would highly recommend using Nature's Realm for any home owner. You will be extremely pleased with their work and commitment to anything they are involved with.

I wish that I had called Kevin at Nature’s Realm years ago. In the past, I’ve spent so much money and time trying to create my backyard oasis alone. After several discussions and meetings with Kevin, I have the oasis that far exceeds my expectations. I can hardly believe that it’s really mine! The butterflies, bees, and birds like it too! Kevin met with me and discussed my needs and immediately understand what my goals were and what type of plantings I wanted. He got it and implemented it perfectly and promptly. He even suggested the addition of an arbor over my swing which is now the focal point of the yard. I gave him a picture from Pinterest and Cesar perfectly executed the arbor. I couldn’t be happier with it. Kevin is an expert landscaper and is very passionate about it. He was very careful about staying within my budget and still getting me what I wanted. He was also very accepting of using some of my cherished plants that I couldn’t part with. Julio handled the installation with great care and attention to detail.

Kevin and Cesar at Natures Realm did a fantastic job converting my basic backyard into a stunning outdoor living space including two patios, a pergola, grill, fireplace and a pond! All surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Kevin consulted with me regularly along the way so that all of my preferences have been included and the result is even better than I imagined! Now I can't wait to do the front yard!

Kevin is a master at visual landscaping. A true Picasso! He worked closely with us in addressing some unique challenges, and gave us great direction on projects that we wanted to do ourselves to keep the costs within our budget. There was a lot of ground work needed to get the new sprinklers and the patio in place. He was available at night and on weekend to meet and keep us moving forward toward the architectural plan developed and the vision of his palate. He was able to work within our budget with a vast variety of plants, which was difficult due to having a very shaded yard. We were so pleased with his work that we had him refresh our front yard with a new landscaping package. Everyone who sees the yard raves about the beauty of the landscape. My response is - it's beautiful because its Nature's Realm!

Never having had any experience with landscapers, I was unsure of the whole project and what it takes to make a vision come to life. Kevin at Nature's Realm was able to walk me through the whole project with ease and professionalism. From the very start, Kevin took the time to understand my vision. I can only imagine how difficult it was to create a Bocce Ball court, arbor, and sitting space so that they all blended, but Kevin was able to do it. Kevin was able to get a sense of my tastes, and worked with me to develop an idea book to build a design from. He was able to take the design and build a project plan around my budget. The project took about 5-weeks to complete. Kevin stayed in contact with me throughout the project as I was traveling for business during that period. He would send pictures, making recommendations and asking for approvals. This made the project very simple without any stress. Needless to say, the final product was beyond what I could have envisioned on my own. Kevin was able to take all of my needs to build a dream space. I would recommend Nature's Realm and Kevin to anyone looking to do landscaping.

I bought a house and wanted to re landscape the backyard for vegetable gardening and fruit tree production. I looked at a couple of companies, but picked Nature's Realm because I felt that the art of the landscaping was superior. I ended up adding a pond- my sons love it, and I was able to do away with my indoor aquarium by moving the fish outside. I hope to try growing water chestnuts as well. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the climate, the generally poor soil of the Houston area, and where to get appropriate plants, soil, mulch, fish to make things work- things that most people don't think about when looking for a contractor. He has a dependable crew that have been working with him for years who are also very professional and reliable. He is professional and completes projects pretty close to budget. There are probably less expensive landscapers, but you get what you pay for in design and quality materials Because he is in demand, he will, however, not likely start the project on site at exactly the week he anticipates. In my case, this meant some of the plants I wanted were sold out and no longer available, and I ended up having to do a lot more hand watering of plants due to the heat. The only thing that I did not like about the entire project was a few of the filler plants- I don't particularly care for pale pink, and I prefer to go with native plants as much as possible. I suspect that the filler plants were chosen taking into account the hot weather and difficulty in killing them if I forgot to water a day. I plan to hire Nature's Realm again when I'm ready to do the front yard.

I was glad I found Nature's Realm. At the first phase, Kevin visited me several times to discuss the design & budget. I could tell from our discussion, he is the expert on landscaping & very passionate about it. During the construction phase, he was on site monitoring the progress all the time. He was very detail-oriented & very focused on quality. He took care of a lot of details we have never thought about. He never took any shortcuts & did his best to satisfy our expectations. He communicated with us whenever any changes/adjustments were needed. Every week he would summary the project progress & cost to make sure it was on track & under budget. He also spent a lot of time on researching & came up with many great ideas. I have never thought my small plain backyard would become so alive with these beautiful plants, flowers, vines, pots, arbor, swing chair, pergola & screen doors. Not to mention the lighting at night. That is Kevin's work too. Now I am sitting in the swing chair under the pergola & enjoying this wonderful private retreat. I truly appreciated the work from Nature's Realm.

Happily and Luckily I found Kevin Boyd, Nature’s Realm, after an exhaustive search for a true landscape professional. After having to have trees removed from our yard due to disease and age, we wanted to upgrade our landscape with some fresh plantings and did not want to start over from scratch. Kevin drew up a design plan which included a look at the current plantings and then he talked with us about the plants worth saving and new plants that he thought would give our yard an updated look and beautiful color. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the plants he works with, the soil they will be planted in and has an artistic eye for colorful combinations. He also worked within the price range we had laid out for the job. We ended up spending a bit more than originally planned, but we liked his design so much we decided it was worth it to spend the extra money. The month after Kevin had finished the planting, our house was awarded the lawn of the month for our subdivision! Thank you Kevin!

Before this process started, I knew very little about gardening or what plants grew well in the Houston area. Kevin was very knowledgeable and very helpful with recommending, picking out plants, and arranging the plants in our yard. My husband and I wanted a very "cottage" feeling garden, in the middle of the city. I love the design that Nature's Realm created and I am very happy with both the hardscaping and plants chosen.

We recently moved into a new home that had little landscaping in the front and back yard. We knew the yard had potential, but were pretty awful and downright unusable when it came to sitting out and enjoying the outdoors. Kevin and his crew created an area where we spend the majority of our time. We got several bids for new landscaping and decided on Nature's Realm based on 1) the time they spent with us, 2) the suggestions they had and their estimate and 3) the presentation of their plan. They finished the job last week and we love it! Kevin and his team transformed a patch of little more than very bumpy grass that felt like it had a giant family of moles living beneath it to a tropical oasis. We have palm trees and a patio seating area in our back yard. We now have lovely vines growing along our fence, and a garden bed surrounding the perimeter of our yard that is filled with lilies and other flowers we'll be able to cut next year. Our front yard was transformed from another boring patch of unusable grass to one of the nicest looking houses on our street. We now enjoy pulling up to our house and seeing the gorgeous landscaping. The difference is like night and day. We are very happy. Kevin is a treat to work with, as is the rest of his crew. I highly recommend these guys.

Thank you Nature's Realm for giving us the outdoor space of our dreams! Kevin and his crew transformed our pathetic patio backyard into a tranquil space with all of our favorite things. Kevin worked really hard to ensure our visions were executed into a beautiful and functional space and within our budget. He helped us every step of the way. He accompanied us to pick out our flagstone (which took 3 trips). When we were unable to select a stain for our fence, he provided a suggestion, which turned out perfect! When I couldn't select the stain for the cedar pergola, he swung by the house to review the samples and helped me select the perfect color! The plants and flowers are the perfect mix of color, texture, easy to care and some hummingbird friendly. Notice how many times I've typed "perfect"? Kevin's masterpieces would not exist if it wasn't for his wonderful crew. They are talented, prompt, quiet and courteous. They even brought in our trash cans on trash days! Again.....Thank you Nature's Realm. We will give you a call when we are ready for the courtyard!

We used Nature's Realm Landscaping for our front yard design and Installation last fall and then for our back yard pool design and installation this summer. Kevin listened to the elements we wanted included in both yards and we couldn't be happier with the results. The backyard included two pergolas - one to camouflage the pool equipment and another to visually draw in the sort of "bowling alley" side yard into the overall flow of the back yard. We were included in the choice of trees and plants and Kevin truly paid close attention to what we liked and did not like. Kevin truly knows his plant materials - what will work in what light and what is aesthetically pleasing together. On top of that, Kevin has a weekly maintenance team that is very dependable and knowledgeable so you can rest easy that KEvin's creation and your investment will be properly cared for. Our back yard is quite simply our haven and we have Kevin at Nature's Realm (and the pool company we used ) to thank for that.

Kevin Boyd of Natures Realm is a professorial in every sense of the word. His knowledge of plants is vast and he uses his knowledge to guide the client in selecting plants that are best suited to the Houston climate,soil conditions and space to be landscaped. Kevin provides a detailed cost estimate for the landscape project. As with any project- deviation from the design and plant selections will add to the costs, but Kevin keeps the client informed of cost overruns so there are no surprises when the final costs are submitted. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my space and providing, little but difficult to comprehend, directions Kevin and his team executed superbly. Living in a midtown condo with a small, 30'x10' secluded backyard space, I thought their was going to be major issues during the process as the only access was through the house. My timeline was open but I had some specific requirements to work around and Kevin was able to accommodate my entire schedule. Everything went off without a hitch and the final product is amazing.

We are first time homeowners and a little inexperienced in landscaping and contracting work in general. Our Heights bungalow had a huge overhang that extended off of the garage and covered up the entire backyard, which effectively hindered us from using what little backyard space we had. We wanted to have someone that was able to remove the overhang and create a patio area that we could use to entertain and relax. We explained to Kevin that we wanted to maximize our limited space while keeping costs in check. The design put together by the landscape architect and Kevin maximized the space, and Kevin came up with a plan that included keeping or reusing the existing materials and provided us an outdoor space that would become an extension of our house. Throughout the process Kevin was very detailed, communicated any changes in plans or costs in a timely manner, and moved quickly to complete the project. The project turned out beautiful. All of the work was done in a timely manner and very professionally. Kevin and his team were a one-stop-shop for everything (project included landscaping, demolition, construction and electrical work). Natures Realm created a lush area to enjoy for many years to come. Kevin took time to coach us through the care of the plants and explain everything he had included. We couldn’t be happier with the final product!

Our large front yard was landscaped 35 years ago, and it looked. We wanted a complete redo, and started with a company that put in a new driveway and drainage system, but we had to find another company because of personnel issues. After talking to a number of landscapers who weren't interested in such a big project or didn't want to accommodate what we wanted, we found Nature's Realm. First Kevin provided us with a reality check that forced us to revamp our plans. It wasn't what we wanted to hear, but it was what we needed. Kevin was also the only person who looked at all our odd collected pieces of wrought iron without rolling his eyes and walking away. We started this summer with the installation of an irrigation system for our entire yard which is just shy of 2/3rds of an acre. Kevin and Dwight also developed a great design. After a break for weather and our activities, laying out the beds and planting began. Once the plans were translated into reality, the results were so fantastic, we still can't believe how gorgeous it is. It's so stunning, we feel like we're living in a piece of art. Kevin also used the pieces we wanted and designed and installed some unique trellises that have really enhanced the house itself. We can't wait until spring! We'd certainly recommend this company for any kind of project. They're great about following through. One of the things I really like is that the design and plants are tailored to you, what you want and like that will work in your yard, and a realistic assessment of your own skill level at gardening. And every project doesn't look like every other project. Our yard is unique.

First of all, the end product speaks for itself. It is beautiful and quite unique, much more than we have expected. Kevin kept us well informed at every step of the process, including plant selection. He delivered the garden on time despite the unusually tight schedule my wife had requested. Yet he was able to accommodate all our last minute wishes. Kudos to Kevin! From the onset, Kevin stressed that the project would be very organic, requiring active participation from my wife and me. There would be changes and deviations from the original plan, stemming from necessity or personal preferences. During the course, most changes were handled in an amiable atmosphere. Other times, we learned to compromise. Kevin always kept his cool and managed to keep our focus on the big picture. Kevin is passionate about his work. I get the impression that he loves the garden more than I do. After all, it is his creation!

I have a pretty good size yard like 25000 sq ft. I wasn't sure what to do and had just been planting random trees and plants. Putting pavers around patio's here and there. Well everyhting look just like that random. I had called several people from houzz and interent and most people specialized in gardening, structures or pools. Kevin said he did it all but his talent is pulling everything together. So he came in was honest told me things most people don't want to hear but he was right everyhting was a mess . So 3 weeks and $25,000 later i'm living in paradise. I still have a lot left to do but the area i spend time in is beautiful. He built a cedar patio cover and arbor with all the bells and whistles. But the garden beds and flower arrangements are what really set him apart. I get compliments on my plants everytime someone somes over. So i would definitely recommend Kevin Boyd at Nature's realm. He made sure everyhting was to my satisfaction before he asked for final payment . Never harassed me for money.

After living in our home for 14 years and never enjoying or entertaining in our backyard, I decided it was time to reclaim it from my dogs. When I began my search, I was really just looking for a landscape design. My husband and I knew how we wanted to utilize the backyard but didn’t know how to make it work and be visually appealing. Like many other reviewers, I too found Nature’s Realm online. After viewing the landscape portfolio and reading customer reviews, I contacted Kevin. And the rest is history… Our project was a major overhaul and was completed in two phases for budget reasons. Last year gutters, drainage, irrigation (front and back yards), a covered and paved patio, paved walkways, fire pit, sitting walls, fountain, electrical (including speakers and TV), mosquito control and fence to “reroute” dogs were installed. This summer the fence was stained, plants and grass came in and irrigation finalized, completing the transformation from a mosquito and dog poop infested embarrassing eye sore to an absolutely functional and beautiful yard. I could never have imagined this transformation without a professional landscaper nor could I have done the work on my own. I have to admit that this was an overwhelming project for me and I had to micromanage it. However, Kevin was sensitive to my concerns and responded immediately to anything that needed attention along the way. Although Kevin has a brusque demeanor (as another customer stated), he is very honest, personable, knowledgeable and passionate about his work. He coached me through plant care, advised me on purchases, researched mosquito control systems, selected appropriate plants for my black thumb, navigated around obstacles, was open-minded when I was closed minded or hesitant, stayed within budget (no surprises), was in constant communication and followed up to check on plants. When Kevin says “trust me”, you can trust him.

Extremely happy with experience and the outcome. Kevin was great at helping us through the whole process. We took some time to get everything correct, but it was our request and Kevin was more than helpful. He took into account what we needed as far as plants and our non-green thumbs. Very knowledgeable about plants for various climate zones, sun and shade, ground type and soil... very knowledgeable. He has also been helpful afterwards as we were working on watering and making sure the plants took to the ground well, especially as the planting was done in June among the Houston heat! Again, very helpful and would highly recommend. To copy the note of another review, you definitely get your money's worth.

Honest, reliable, and thorough, Kevin Boyd constructed and implemented a professional and beautiful vegetable and fruit garden with the highest quality irrigation system. Long after completion of the project, Nature's Realm responds immediately to questions and followup concerns. Incredibly helpful, Kevin spent many hours educating this home owner on all aspects of our project. They stand by their products and work and, without question, replaced a tree at our request.

After several disappointing visits from other landscapers we called Kevin based on his excellent reviews. We immediately liked how Kevin took the time to sit down with us and discuss the issues we had with our dismal backyard and pool area. He gave us very honest feedback (which we truly appreciated) as to why it looked that way and came up with some very interesting and creative solutions. After providing us with an amazing design, Kevin again came over several times to discuss planning and budget details to make sure we were comfortable with everything prior to starting. The end result exceeded all our expectations. The ugly brick look surrounding our yard has been transformed by pergolas, fencing to hide ugly pool equipment and a/c units and a gorgeous assortment of plants and trees. We now have a very inviting, lush, green area to enjoy. Kevin's approach was meticulous and very creative. His creation included a very appealing choice of plant grouping, terracing, raised beds and flowering plants in an array of colors that you won't find in your average backyard! Think passionflower, dragon fruit, olive trees, succulents etc. He was also very generous in sharing his in-depth knowledge of plants and gave us great tips and advice. Finally, I have to praise his invaluable assistant Cesar. He did some amazing carpentry, cleaned up our pool and hosed down our deck area every day after spending many hours in the brutal sun. The whole process was such an enjoyable experience and we highly recommend Nature's Realm.
