Masters of kitchen architecture, nuHaus has designed, constructed and installed fine cabinetry and architectural millwork to wide acclaim for 25 years. Family-owned-and-operated, nuHaus was launched by brothers Doug and John Durbin in 1988. The name nuHaus is derived from the world famous design school, Bauhaus. The Bauhaus approach celebrates the harmony between art and function; nuHaus believes that art and function are intended not only to complement but also inspire one another. This simple but profound principle informs and shapes the awardwinning work of the Durbins and their team of kitchen designers as they deliver complex custom designs to their industry partners and discerning clientele. nuHaus is an exclusive dealer of Downsview Kitchens from Canada, and also offers LaCornue ranges from France, the Scanomat TopBrewer from Denmark and Exclusive Woodworking, their own fine cabinetry and millwork manufacturing company. Notable nuHaus projects include the Sub-Zero/Wolf showroom in Buckhead outside of Atlanta, Georgia, the Sub-Zero/Wolf showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, and The Links House at Royal Dornoch, in Dornoch, Scotland. nuHaus has won a record eight Sub-Zero/Wolf design contests and now Doug Durbin serves as a judge of the prestigious competition.
