Oak & Tenon

If you've just found Oak and Tenon through Google by chance - congratulations. They're easily the best cabinet makers in Toronto. A few years ago, before COVID hit, I was in the early stages of planning a total kitchen renovation. I had specific ideas of what I wanted my cabinetry to look like, and I was struggling to find a team that was confident in their ability to execute the vision. A friend suggested Corey and Oak and Tenon (based on their Instagram account and the photos of completed work). I spoke with Corey on the phone, he came by to look at the space and we started discussing concepts. I visited the show-room, we finalized the drawings and then COVID hit, and everything was deferred by a year. As we moved through the pandemic, Corey remained involved, and kept in touch on shifting timelines. He worked closely with all the trades on the project and stepped in to help me trouble-shoot issues on the job-site that had nothing to do with the cabinetry. If a problem or a complication arose, Corey always had creative, collaborative suggestions and kept the overall aesthetic top of mind. The project was installed two weeks ago. Throughout the installation both Corey and Julian were fully involved. They truly care about the work they do, and about their clients and it shows. Their installers were always on time, courteous, clean, efficient and detailed. For the first few days, I'd walk into the new kitchen and get lost admiring the work, the craftsmanship and the attention to detail. I'm in awe of their ability to execute on custom accent pieces. They created a one of a kind space with timeless character. Corey's creativity, collaboration and thoughtful, kind approach to his craft have given me a kitchen beyond my expectations. They are absolutely the best at what they do and I am so grateful to their entire team.

Corey is a consummate professional, focused 100% on meeting the clients needs. We enjoyed the collaborative design process, flexibility, and partnership that Oak & Tenon brought to our kitchen and bathroom renovation. Also outstanding was the unique and creative way Oak & Tenon incorporated natural wood elements into our kitchen. We have already received many compliments on the timeless natural beauty that the wood elements bring to the space. This was my first major renovation (condo kitchen). I had no idea what I was doing and had a lot of questions. Oak & Tenon was patient and help me through this journey. I learned a lot. More importantly, I love my new kitchen. It was what I wanted and more. I love having a beautiful and functional kitchen in a small space. Storage is no longer an issue and cooking is a joy.

This was our first custom project and it certainly will not be our last. We had a built-in cabinet envisioned for our space and these guys helped us with the design and construction. Adjustments were made as requested and they were very accommodating from beginning to end. The finished product was above and beyond what we had hoped for and we are absolutely thrilled. We ordered a dining table from Oak and Tenon. There were some specifics that were important to us that other custom manufacturers seem to balk at (beveled edges, solid walnut at 2" thick, 8' x 4', finished underside). Julian and company were very much up to the task and delivered a remarkable product. We were so pleased with the workmanship, detail and service. My sincere appreciation and thanks to the team. When I first started designing this project, I wanted the vanity to be the focal point. After being recommended to Oak and Tenon by my closest family-friends, I decided to meet with Julian to go over my initial sketches. Having started this project right in the middle of Covid-19, the design process, and stain selection was seamless! The team was able to have this vanity done in about 5 weeks time, and I could not be happier with the final product. I hope to work with them again on another project in the future!

Right from the very first meeting until final completion Corey and Julian treated our kitchen project like it was their very own. Every detail I wanted and envisioned was brought to life. Even when things didn’t go as planned, they ensured it was redone until I was happy and it was perfect. The whole experience was so stress free and very exciting. The quality and craftsmanship of the wood and all materials is excellent on all levels.
