Charlotte speaks widely about plants and garden design and is the Curator of the Pollinator Garden at the University of Vermont's Horticulture, Education, and Research Center in South Burlington. She studied horticulture and landscape design at the USDA Graduate School in Washington, D.C. and has worked for The American Horticultural Society and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.

Commented: Where did you get the bench? Is it wood? Absolutely beautiful space! Photo taken at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia outside the Governor's Mansion - a classic design and yes - it's painted wood. Very beautiful in that location.

Commented: What is the purple flower next to the hot pink peonies? That's lupine - a great selection for spiky color. The species is a biannual (blooms every other year) but look for hybrid types that are true perennials.

Commented: I have been admiring this grass' feathery wisps all fall, what is it? This is a Miscanthus grass - not sure which one. Photographed in Montreal.

Commented: What plant is in this pic? And is it hardy to zone 7? This is Euphorbia wulfenii, USDA zone 6-8 so it should work for you but note these Mediterrean plants dislike humidity and prefer a lean, dry soil.
