When our newly-installed dishwasher flooded our home, we were faced with the choice to repair a kitchen & basement that weren’t our style, or plunge into a full renovation years before we had planned! Pellak stood out from other contractors immediately! Meeting with them was easy; it was like talking to an old friend. They listened to what we knew we wanted, and they guided us to figure things out when we didn’t know what we wanted. Their estimate was pages long and extremely thorough compared with the other estimates we received. Their team was professional and easy to communicate with, and we loved that they have an in-house designer and showroom. We started meeting with Jessica to plan our kitchen, mudroom, and basement renovations. The planning/designing process was extremely detailed. We hadn’t expected this phase to take as long as it did, but in the end it was worth it. Jessica was so helpful – we must have looked at 100 tile samples! She really took the time to understand my vision. She was willing to show us several options in the renderings, and it was so helpful to have those visuals before construction. Once the team started on construction, we were immediately impressed. Every day, things were cleaned up and left as good as they could be in a construction zone! Mike, the lead carpenter, truly cared about his work and his craftmanship shows that. Throughout the project, he kept standards super high and wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the team’s work. The way Pellak handled difficulties is actually one of the biggest reasons I would recommend them. They wanted to make things right. The biggest challenge came when we realized that we did not like the pre-finished hardwood floors that we picked… after they were fully installed (we were traveling at the time). It felt so wrong to want to rip them out and change them, but we also knew that we wouldn’t want to live with a floor that we didn’t like. Pellak was wonderfully understanding, and they agreed that it was important to redo them. They helped us make a new choice, and we picked floors that would be site-finished. We were so much happier with the look and feel of the new floors. No one wants to go through a redo, but if you have to… having your contractor be as understanding as Pellak, is a huge help! From estimate to design, demo to build, and through all the details along the way, working with Pellak was terrific. They were professional, timely, conscientious, and extremely skilled. Our new kitchen is ours, and it makes me smile every time I look at it. Our new basement is bright and spacious - the perfect place to gather with friends and play shuffleboard. Doing the mudroom was a bonus, yet it is now one of my favorite rooms in our home. It was a big project that we didn’t plan to do, but I’m so glad we did. They truly transormed our house into a beautiful home that I adore.

We hired Pellak Construction for a major renovation that involved structural repairs, a full kitchen remodel, and multiple bathroom updates. From the start, Pellak stood out. We spoke to multiple companies, but Drew, the owner, and his brother Bryan were the only ones who offered both a clear plan and a realistic estimate. This was a complex project — our floors had sagged due to previous poor renovations, and they corrected the issues by reinforcing some joists, replacing and rerouting others to accommodate plumbing, and adding vertical supports as recommended by an engineer. Early on, we also realized that we would need to add a second HVAC system to achieve the desired comfort level. This could have caused significant delays; however, Drew worked closely with us to choose the right system, line up the contractor, and keep the schedule on track. Jess, the designer, pitched ideas we never would have considered ourselves. She helped us create three beautiful bathrooms and a stunning fireplace surround. Best of all, she opened up the kitchen to the dining room while preserving storage by designing a wall of cabinetry with glass doors on both sides, turning it into a beautiful focal point. From start to finish, the whole team was organized, responsive, and professional. Shane, the project manager, and Mike, the lead carpenter, were always on site keeping things moving and keeping us informed. Despite early delays due to permitting and a change in the HVAC plan, the rest of the project stayed on track. Their crews were reliable, and there was always progress being made. The quality of work is excellent. Nothing is ever 100% flawless, but this came very close. We now have a stronger, more beautiful, and better-functioning home. We’ve had tons of compliments — and maybe a few envious guests. We’d absolutely recommend Pellak Construction, especially for complex, multi-part projects that require both skill and coordination.

We had already used Pellak Construction two years ago to give us a new garage/mudroom/half bath addition to our 1920's home. We were so pleased with all aspects of the project that we knew we'd hire them again when it came to renovating our kitchen space. As in many older homes, our kitchen was quite small and narrow, with an awkward layout for more than one person cooking, outdated cabinets, inadequate counter space and limited storage. The adjacent dining room, however, was larger than we needed, dark, and rarely used. Working in collaboration with Pellak's excellent designer, we came up with a plan that addressed all of these issues, starting with knocking down the wall between the two spaces. Through permitting, demolition, construction, installation and final inspections, the entire Pellak team was professional, responsive to questions, and their workmanship was impressive. We now have a new space that meets all of our needs, with plenty of workspace, tons of storage, and is a wonderful addition to our home. The experience was another reason that we would use Pellak again for any new projects.

When starting the research for our kitchen renovation, we spoke with so many contractors and designers before ultimately deciding to go with Pellak. Their design and build service really stood out to us, and I'm so glad we did. They worked hard to understand exactly what we wanted to do and what open questions we had about the project. For years, my wife and I planned a kitchen renovation but were faced with the challenge of finding the right contractor. Based on a lot of positive feedback we saw online, we decided to reach out to Pellak Construction. Bryan was quick to return our call and walked us through the process. They came to our house to review the layout and listened to our concerns and how we envisioned our new space. Within a few weeks we had three design options to choose from. Once we finalized the layout, we met with Amanda in the design studio to pick out all of our finishes. Our construction timeline was tight, and they were able complete it on time. Robert oversaw our project and was great to work with. Everyone from the tile setter to carpenters took pride in the work that they did. Like any project, there were some minor issues that popped up from time to time. What we were most impressed with is how they responded to those issues, “We just want you guys to be happy”. We selected Pellak Construction to design and build the renovation of our 1950s bathroom. We selected them based on their exceptional reputation and our first meeting with them to discuss the job. They spent time understanding what we wanted and offered suggestions based on their experience with similar bathrooms in local homes. They have a design studio right in Springfield which we visited to make final selections on tile and fixtures. It was a fun experience. Before demolition they sealed off the rest of the house so that there would be no dust leaving the bathroom. They cleaned the work area at the end of every day. The job went off without a hitch. It was done on schedule and the quality of the work was evident. Our small bathroom has been transformed into a cleaner, modern, and visually larger version of what we had. When we moved into our 1920’s era home, we knew we’d need a trusted, professional team to bring it up to date. Our first priority was a larger garage that fit both our cars easily with room for storage. We also needed a first floor half bath and a mudroom, and the team at Pellak delivered all three! Their design plan included an extension of our previous garage space, and used a portion of the old space to accommodate the mudroom and half bath. It was also important to us that the addition looked seamless, especially from the exterior. The Pellak team delivered on that, too. The new space looks as if it was always there, not just tacked on. Pellak paid attention to details such as roof lines, materials and scale. Every member of the team from start to finish was professional, communicative, and hard working. Their skill and workmanship is outstanding, and it shows in the final results. Our new space gives us more than just space for cars and storage—it makes our house function much more efficiently.
