My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Peter McDonald Architect is a licensed, full service architecture firm with over 20 years of experience on Cape Cod and throughout New England. Our work encompasses both new construction projects as well as renovations and additions, specializing in designs that respond to the unique historic and geographic context of the Cape and Islands. Our goal is to design custom spaces for our clients, taking into account individual projects’ program, site, and budget. Licensed in Ct, RI, Me, and Ma.

After contacting several architects on Cape Cod we chose Peter McDonald to design an addition to our home. The addition he designed blends perfectly with the original part of the house and complements it beautifully. The original home was a simple gambrel and many of the other architects we contacted thought it would be too difficult to add an addition that would complement the original part of the house. Peter's succeeded beautifully. People passing by the house often stop and comment how beautifully the addition enhances the house.

We were impressed with Peter's ability to provide imaginative solutions for the challenges we faced adding a modern kitchen, bathroom and handicapped access ramp to what is a beloved and very historic building . His plan provided us with an attractive and very functional addition which looks like it has always been there. A beautiful handicapped ramp that doesn't look like one and attention to the design of the building by providing a rear porch like entrance mirroring the familiar front of the building. Peter is not only a professional but very easy to work with and and his associates delivered a great plan on time And this being a community project, Peter was exceptionally generous with his time and talent.

I was fortunate to find in Peter McDonald an architect who was able to translate my design thoughts into a plan both aesthetically pleasing and practical. When we would disagree, I found him tactful in championing his thoughts but not forceful, suggesting an ability to work with all manner of client. I found his fees reasonable and his attention to my project prompt and committed.

When my wife and I decided to add an addition to our house, we asked around for references for an architect and Peter McDonal's name kept coming up. When we first met with Peter we gave him an idea of what we would like. Peter and his team came up with different layouts and one of them was just what we wanted. Peter and his team proceeded to make a complete set of drawings and a specification sheet, which with Peter's help enabled us to get construction costs from different builders. The builder we chose was Chris Thompson in N. Eastham ( the reason I name the builder, is because he did a great job with our addition and Peter and Chris have worked on other projects together). Building a new house or adding on to one's house is fun, but at times can be very frustrating. But Peter made it easier for us and we would have no hesitation using his service again.

We recently completed a large, comprehensive renovation of our home in Cape Cod. Peter McDonald Architects did the entire design. They worked very well with us to identify our needs and to create a design that was very appropriate for our home. They guided us to a very good contractor; and worked very effectively with them. Ultimately, architect, contractor and owner worked together to arive at a finished renovation project that was VERY pleasing to us as the owner. We feel that Peter McDonald Architects did a very competent and cost effective job for us. We highly recommend them for architectural services
