Zinn Construction LLC is a full service, design/build construction company based in Springfield, Illinois. We started in 2003 and specialize in new home construction, room additions, decks, three/four seasons rooms and drafting/design services. Owner, Phil Zinn, a Sherman resident, has worked in residential construction since 1996, and is involved in every aspect of a Zinn project. Phil has assembled a talented staff of carpenters who complete the framing and finish work on every new home. Zinn Construction takes pride in providing courteous, reliable, skillful craftsmanship, making personal attention to detail the signature feature that sets us apart from other builders. Zinn built our home in 2015. They vented the stove hood into the attic. Violation of Springfield building code. As of 2012, building code requires that the stove hood be vented out the roof. Called them and they said tough luck. I’ll take it to small claims court and see what the court has to say.

To whom it may concern: We pulled the permit for this home in 2012. This home was inspected by the City of Springfield and passed all inspections. While we do warranty our homes, we cannot offer/afford an unlimited warranty. We believe 7 years is beyond a reasonable warranty period. Thank you.

I am very picky when it comes to details, and I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail Phil and team put into this home. His team was a pleasure to work with and their quality of work was excellent. After we closed on the house we had a couple of questions on how things worked and Phil and/or the team were always quick to respond and answered any questions we had. We originally viewed homes built by them for the Parade of Homes in Springfield many years ago. When it was time to build our current home, we sought them out. Zinn Construction built our house in 2012. We had a terrific experience. The house is beautiful and they showed excellent attention to detail. Much of my inspiration came from pictures on Houzz. Phil was easy to work with and was very open to new ideas. We stayed on budget and finished construction in a timely manner. If Phil is still building houses in 25 years, we will definitely contact him to build our next downsized home.

Commented: Love the foyer light fixture! Who makes it or where could I find it?Marx lighting and fireplaces, of Springfield, IL provided the light. Let them know it was the Bulpitt foyer light and they should be able to get you the manufacturer. Thanks

Commented: What is the stone on this house and from where is it sourced?The stone is Versetta stone by Boral. It hangs like siding. I like it because it can withstand freeze/thaw since it's actually nailed in place. I bought it through my local lumberyard.
