Pistachio Designs

I hired Elaine and Pistachio Designs to decorate our Pre-War Apartment on the Upper West side of Manhattan in 2024. I was very please with the process and the outcome. Elaine did a fantastic job of communicating and keeping to schedule and her designs and decorations for our apartment turned out really well. I would like to highlight her high degree of professionalism because this would not be apparent from design photos. Everything Elaine did was so well organized and prompt. This was a huge source of relief for me as I did not feel that I needed to manage anything. Elaine and all the contractors she employed did an outstanding job from start to finish. I highly recommend Elaine and Pistachio Designs.

Elaine was amazing walking me through all the steps of the design process! She created a great initial design based off photos and measurements and we were able to really collaborate and find something that really brought in a WOW from everyone who stepped into my kitchen. This kitchen feels like mine and I thank Elaine for being a big part in making that happen.

Highly recommend Elaine! My husband and I hired Elaine to help with the design of our kitchen remodel. She did an excellent job! We didn't really have a good idea of what we wanted and Elaine was great at guiding us and finding exactly the right solutions for our small, weird NYC kitchen space. She listened to and was very receptive to our feedback and helped us get a design we love that was conscious of our budget, and we could never have come up with on our own. She was also always super friendly, fun to talk to and very importantly always met every deadline on time. We would definitely use her in any future design projects!

Not only is Elaine a complete joy to work with, she makes the design process feel like a conversation. As someone who is completely intimidated by interior design, I felt totally at ease with Elaine guiding the way and being incredibly patient with my intermittent, never ending questions. Our bathroom remodel went smoothly, and I am obsessed with our new space! My husband even said it’s the nicest room in our home.

Elaine was wonderful to work with--always responsive with exciting and creative solutions an ideas. She really listened to our household needs and preferences and offered several alternate options for our consideration. Do yourself a favor and work with her!

Elaine is a wonderful person to work with; she is collaborative, detail oriented, and mindful of your budget and timeline. I would’ve loved to work with Elaine in a greater capacity as originally planned but due to covid and loss of income I wasn’t able to. Elaine was completely understanding, not pushy, and considerate when working with me to focus on the areas of my new home that I wanted to upgrade. She came up with plans for an odd shaped living room that utilized the furniture I already had and understood my goals for the space. I’m really happy with how it turned out. Elaine first worked with a friend and when I saw her project completed I thought “that apartment looks like her, vibrant, full of life.” I knew when I had the opportunity, I would reach out to Pistachio. I’m the time of COVID, my boyfriend and I moved and though we had many pieces generously gifted by family, I wanted to style our space with extras to be our own. We even took a fun quiz to provide further insight of our likes/ dislikes. Working with Elaine is a complete experience and even though I wasn’t spending the big bucks, I was treated to a complete thoughtful recommendation and plan of how to put her vision together. She even got me thinking of things I never even considered (hello velvet) . Call her!

5 stars is not enough for Elaine!! We hired her as soon as we bought our first apartment and we needed A LOT of help. From paint, to lighting, to furniture, to floors... you name it, we needed it. She really considered our style preferences in her work and we took almost all of her first recommendations because they were so spot on. I'm sharing pics of our master bathroom reno (before and after) because it was the biggest project and biggest transformation. It was a small space that was horribly misused prior and now it's gorgeous!! On top of that, she's a pleasure to work with - always quick to respond and accommodating to requests. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we're loving our new place! (I also added a picture of the master bedroom, though we are still working on it!)

Elaine is amazing to work with. She considered both my own personal style while also incorporating her expert taste into the look.

My husband and I are thrilled we hired Elaine to design our living room, dining room, and master bedroom because everything looks GORGEOUS. Elaine was incredibly patient and thoughtful in walking through her process and tweaking designs through every round of review. We ended up with pieces we really love and will cherish for years to come. Elaine is also super thorough in her follow-up check ins, always making sure we had the right support needed to tackle paint, wallpaper, window treatments, etc. projects to complete the look. Our space has been completely transformed—it all looks polished and tailored to even our awkwardly shaped rooms. Thanks for making this such a fun and rewarding experience for us Elaine! Can’t wait to do it all again if we ever move from this beautiful house :)
