Pool Tech

Pool Tech was great at taking our visualization of building just a "swim shelf" - a place where 2 - 3 chaise lounges could sit in a pool of shallow water. They were on time and on budget and flexible with this concept - we would use them again.

Unfortunately we have not had a positive experience with this company and its contractor. Overall there has been poor communication and a failure to live up to what we were told to expect as customers. It started with the site visit when my wife waited all day for the contractor to show and never did. She had to reschedule work to come back the next day, and he still arrived at the wrong time. Poor communication continued when the start date for the project came and went with no one showing up, and no one communicating the delay. Finally, nine days later, a crew arrived and dug the hole for our pool. They placed a sump pump well directly in the middle of the yard, without consulting us, and without consideration for our overall project. Additionally, they dug the hole for the pool 8 feet too big, and when I called about the error I was made to feel that I was wrong. It turns out I was not. The hole was left for almost two weeks with no work being done and no contact from the contractor. We were also told after the fact that we had to find a contractor to install a retaining wall around the pool. It turns out this was wrong as well, that the contractor had incorrect information, and we were forced to get proper instructions in writing from the Doughboy pool vendor to insure that the method of installation would not void our warranty. Finally someone showed up this week to begin constructing the pool. They did two days of work and have now failed to show once again. We were told our pool would be up by this weekend, but I am doubtful based on progress so far. Monday will be four weeks beyond the intended start date. Unfortunately for us, Pool tech had failed to live up to the positive reviews it received on this site. Since I already have paid a deposit and have a hole in the yard I am forced to continue to wait this situation out, with the hope that the final project outcome is better than the work and service we have received to date.

We had a great experience with Pool Tech from their preliminary vision, to the design, to the completion of the project. They continually provided many options/recommendations during the entire process to ensure that we would enjoy our pool and space for many years to come. Brian and Teri
