Preservation & Renovation

I recently had Preservation and Renovation remodel three bathrooms- one powder and two full baths. All three were complete renovations- tile work, installation, paint, wall paper and design services/ product selections. I can't say enough about the positive experience I had with Roger and his team as well as design with Des. From demolition to completion these projects were done to perfection with every detail in mind. I had a clear picture of what I wanted and Des helped bring it to fruition and even better. She is tireless in her desire to ensure that your concept is materialized. Roger and his team are thorough, hardworking, clean, honest and truly care about the client experience. They will not consider your project done until you are beyond satisfied. The tradespeople Roger uses are all exceptional- everyone that touches your project is a reflection of what they value. Typically you can't wait until the job is done and the contractors leave so you can have your space done but with them I can't wait to have my master bath done and do it all again!!

I now have beautiful Life Proof Vinyl plank floors. The job was more then installing flooring. The crew came in and placed barriers to keep the dust down while removing 500 sq. ft. of ceramic floors from my kitchen, laundry and bath. Then after removing the other carpeted areas my floors were covered with Vinyl plank floors. The job was finished off with new moldings and door casings making the home look like a new build. I couldn't be happier with the work and how clean they were given all the dust.

It was a pleasure working with Desiree and Rodger. Ours was a studs-to-rugs home remodel. Desiree provided us with thought-filled suggestions and assistance with wall placement to furniture placement. She had ideas we would not have known to consider and are grateful for those as our home is now our dream. Desiree was available and responsive; Roger was timely and thorough. The pair are complete professionals and extremely talented.

We chose to work with preservation and renovation on a complete home renovation this past year (2018). Let me just tell all of you how incredibly amazing our home renovation journey with P&R was! From day one, we knew this was the team that we wanted to work with! Desirée and Roger envisioned the same potential that we did in our newly purchased fixer upper. They then provided us with various options to work around our budget and did not pressure us at any point to go with higher priced options. Once we selected our plan, the entire team worked day in and day out with incredible diligence, and amazing attention to detail. The P&R team openly communicated with us, provided numerous options, and made sure that we were happy with each step along the way! The team did whatever it took to ensure we would be in our home by the date we specified, and we were!! We were brought to tears by the dream home preservation and renovation built us and would recommend them to anyone!!

We've used Desiree's design services for our complete kitchen remodel, breezeway remodel and continue to use her skills throughout the rest of our house for finishing touches. She is extremely easy to talk to and I felt like she understood my wish list from Day 1. I shared some photos and styles that I liked with her and she got it right away. Not only did she get what I wanted, she was able to bring a lot of random thoughts together and make them cohesive and beautiful. Although we had a lot of ideas about what we wanted, Desiree was so skilled at bringing up the smallest details that we never would have considered that made a huge difference in the end results. Admittedly, we changed our minds on several things - more than once, but she took it all in stride and helped guide us in a direction that we were happy with. She is extremely patient and very good at helping you consider and weigh out various options. I've also never enjoyed shopping more - instead of walking aimlessly around a showroom and getting overwhelmed, she takes you right to where you want to be - such a huge time saver! Desiree really helped us with the details for everything from windows to fixtures to fabrics to furniture to lighting placement. She is a delight to work with and has always made sure that we were happy with everything before, during and after.

Our first major renovation of our 20 year old colonial. Complete kitchen with walls removed, everything new. Also, our 1/2 bath on main floor and laundry. Was impressed by the attention to detail with cabinetry and built ins. Custom to our appliance selections. All appliances, plumbing, electrical functioning without issue right down to the cabinet doors and handles positioned Drywall, mouldings and finish detail is clean and sharp. Everything turn key with Roger as the lead construction engineer and Desiree as our interior designer. Roger coordinated ALL electrical, plumbing, HVAC, countertop and finish contractors with our flooring and window suppliers to provide a constant forward movement toward the finished product. This was a huge main floor renovation. Roger was onsite (and working) along side his crew most every day, and when absent, was available via text and phone to answer all questions and manage all work being done. He accurately quoted all work and provided written, itemized statements throughout the project. He worked closely with us at each stage to ensure the demolition and construction were on point, and maintained a clean and safe worksite throughout the 5 months of our renovation. When problems/snags arose, he and Desiree were upfront and capable of resolving the issues without undue cost or concern on our part. We were able to stay in our home with three children, and our dog, with losing our sanity! Desiree was invaluable as a design expert with inspiration, ideas and direction. She has seemingly limitless relationships with service/product professionals to meet all of our interior design needs. From countertops, flooring, lighting, color integration and style, she spent the time to learn our style and then took the lead in providing countless options for us to choose. We shopped together for lighting, tile and window treatments, and was always available for consult and advice at a moments notice. She was exceptionally mindful of our budget, and offered alternatives to some of my costly “champagne” selections without compromise in quality. We continue to work together to add the finishing touches to our decor and style. We are very pleased with our extensive renovation and will look forward to having them back for our next project.

Hiring and trusting a contractor is a challenge. Hiring Roger and Desiree for a complete kitchen renovation was a pleasure. From the onset of the project, their communications were timely and recommendations spot-on. We were confident throughout the process everything would be done right and to our liking. I Would confidently recommend Roger and Desiree to anyone for just about anything.

Desiree transformed my small mudroom from awkward and cramped to spacious and functional while using cost effective solutions. She was able to help me make decisions on overall design, color options, and material selection. She helped resolved problems with materials quickly and professionally. She always kept in mind my outcomes and helped me push this project past the finish line. I was stalled without her help! I would definitely use her again.

We have hired Preservation & Renovation for several projects in multiple homes. In our previous home, Roger and his crew completely gutted and remodeled our bathroom. This including plumbing and electrical, while Desiree assisted in choosing paint and tile as well as picking out lighting fixtures. We recently moved to a new home where we hired P&R to knock down a load bearing wall and turn it into a half wall to create a more open floor plan in our kitchen/dining area. P&R also installed our current kitchen backsplash and did most of the work in ordering our countertop and scheduling to have it installed. We've also hired Roger to help us with plumbing issues in the past...he's the first person we think of when we want to do a project or need help fixing something in our home. Roger and Desiree are also well connected with home decor companies in our area which includes, counters, carpeting, tile, lighting, paint, etc. I've never asked them a question they couldn't answer...to top it off, they're really nice people who love what they do. We're planning a bathroom remodel this spring/summer and we're really looking forward to working with them again!

In the last 30 years I have built two homes and have been involved in several renovations. I can honestly say that working with the principals of P&R was my most successful and enjoyable project to date. The professionalism, care and quality of workmanship was unparalleled. The creativity. kindness and care given to my design selections was outstanding. I changed my mind on selections several times and never felt pressured to hurry along. My happiness was their primary concern. I can't wait to renovate my master bath just so I can work with them again!!
