Rose created a beautiful and functional design for my condo that I love so much. She took the time to understand my style and needs and used an organized and thoughtful design process. The process gave me multiple opportunities to provide input and included helpful visuals and an in-person design meeting where I could see and touch physical samples in my space. Rose’s process was invaluable for making design decisions that I am really happy with because she gave me a cohesive plan for the space that guided all my selections for furniture, lighting, paint colors, etc. (I had previously spent a year making one-off decisions and hoping for the best and it was not working!) I also appreciated Rose’s practical approach to design. She incorporated pieces I already had and loved and gave me lots of options for new selections that allowed me to stay within my budget. She also identified a need for more functional lighting in my living/dining space and designed a lighting scheme that has made all the difference. I could not be happier with the result and could not have achieved it without Rose!

Rose is super easy to work with and very responsive. I don't have a lot of time to spend on interior design and once she saw the vibe I was going for we were able to work together to chose awesome pieces that worked for my budget and what I already had.

I had downsized to a condo and was starting from scratch. I had never worked with a professional designer before, and didn't know what to expect. Rose took my vague concept (something modern) and turned it into a beautiful reality. She really listens, and made design changes based on my preferences. Rose provided me with multiple furniture, and lighting options at various price points. She is professional, personable, and has a robust network of painters, carpenters, and handypersons. Bottom line: Rose is a godsend.

This is the second time that I have worked with Rose and the fourth space in my home that she has designed (family room, living room, foyer and now master bedroom). Every time that I walk into my bedroom I can't believe that it is mine! Rose took the stress out of our home renovation. She listened to our family's wants and needs, reviewed my wish boards and then designed a whole house concept to fit our needs and keep me close to our budget. She knows where to spend and where to save! I never lost time and grew frustrated traveling to tile, floor, and other material stores, she brought samples to me during our organized consultations. Rose worked collaboratively with our builder and architect, helping me to select everything from tile and grout for 4.5 bathrooms, kitchen cabinets and countertops, light positions and fixtures, siding, deck material, hardwood floors and no detail was too small. I had Rose help me with a living room update. She was very organized an professional throughout the entire process. She worked with items I already had to the extent it made sense. So glad I found Primrose Design! I’ve been happily working with Rose for about 6 months to update the main floor of our 1972 Oakton Virginia home. Taking our preferences, budget and current decor into consideration, she has provided spot-on color and furnishing recommendations to update our space. Rose has been amazing to work with! She completed the interior design of the first floor of our new construction new house we just moved into -office, living room, breakfast room, kitchen, and dining room. Having a young child and a baby on the way, we wanted both a modern and sophisticated as well as "cozy living" feel for our new home. Rose did not disappoint. She quickly gaged our taste and choose pieces that matched our tastes and lifestyle. She found pieces that were very timely and sophisticated but did not break the budget. She was always willing to find new/additional/alternate pieces if needed and made several trips over to the house to double and sometime triple check on samples/swatches to make sure we were on track. I recommend Rose to anyone who wants to save time AND money. When we built a three story addition on our home last year, Rose helped us select everything from light and bath fixtures to furniture and paint colors. I had a good sense of what I wanted, but was overwhelmed by all my choices. Rose put words to the pictures in my head and narrowed down the entire universe of options to a handfull of selections at a range of price points (almost always lower than what I was finding in my own searches). When people see pictures of my house, the things that get compliments are always the things that Rose brought to the design. I had a great experience with Primrose Interior Design. Rose created a design for the renovation of our clubhouse assembly room at a private swim and tennis club. Her design concepts were attractive and thoughtful and her selection of materials was the perfect balance of commercial durability and aesthetics. The bathroom design in particular turned out amazing! I also really appreciated Rose’ availability and flexibility when we needed to change up materials such as light fixtures in order to stay in our budget. My wife and I greatly enjoyed working with Rose and were very pleased with her work for us. We engaged Rose to propose design layouts and recommend furnishings and decor in our living room, sun room, dining room and den. Rose had very creative and practical ideas for layout and she was also able to point us in the direction of some great furniture choices, including some designer only items as well as from vendors and stores we never would have thought of on our own. I would have given up long ago on our projects without Rose's help! (in fact, I had put off for years...) We had multiple projects in our house that we needed guidance, product suggestions, and design advice on that coordinated with our budget and preferences. Rose structured the order of selection, and helped us through each phase of our multi-pronged project (a little of this and a lot of that). She provided flooring selections, lighting designs, tile selections, paint designs, furniture piece selections and advice on anything we asked. Ours was not a ditch it all type of project, so all was done in the context of what we are keeping, and with our desire to "modernize a tad". Rose was a lovely person to work with!

I recently worked with Rose to redesign my dining room and finish off several other rooms in my home and had a fantastic experience! When we moved in to our condo nearly 5 years ago we did not give much thought to making it feel like home. Rose was just who we needed to guide us through light updates in our main living space and bedroom. It wasn’t a huge project in a relatively small space, but I still felt like Rose gave us her attention as if it were a bigger project. I contracted with Primrose Interior Design to help with the goal of finishing my basement. What a pleasure it was to have Rose Ramseur to work with. She grasped the idea of what I wanted to do with the basement and ran with it, start to finish. She made suggestions on details that I hadn’t considered. It was a true pleasure to work with Rose on redecorating a family room and guest bedroom. I had just bought my first place and was looking forward to transitioning out of my 20s Swedish-flat-pack-furniture phase and into my 30s nicely-designed-condo phase. Of course I had plenty of ideas from looking at pins and various design/furniture websites, but I felt overwhelmed and worried about wasting money on any amateur mistakes. Enter Rose! She was my knowledgeable and patient consultant, reviewing my digital file of colors and pieces so that I could have a cohesive scheme. She has a wealth of information and was extremely prepared to handle my variety of questions on all fronts. I needed a paint color and she chose a few great ones from her handy color deck. I was considering reupholstering some old chairs, she knew the best local upholsterer. She recommended how to balance the large comfy furniture pieces that I thought would look well with accent pieces in a variety of textures and weights. She was fabulous brainstorming creative solutions to oddball requests (how to display a rotating collection of a few hundred postcards? Very thin ledges in the dining room, of course!). We also spent a short time doing quick shopping online together, narrowing down what was needed by specific heights, widths, colors, and textures. I trust Rose's eye implicitly and her consulting fees were well worth the money for me. If you wish you could make a pin-worthy room but worry you're not quite there, then definitely bring Rose in for a large or small project!

Our Fairfax home was badly damaged recently when a tree fell on it; we found ourselves needing to do a lot of unplanned renovations. The front of the house had not really been updated in terms of the colors and exterior hardware for many years, so this was our chance. I decided that "curb appeal" is so important, I wanted some professional advice. Rose has been amazing. I only needed her for a few hours of consultation work, and she was incredibly flexible and allowed me to craft a contract that met our needs. She has stood outside the house with me on multiple occasions ... poring over color samples ... and she has done a lot of her own hunting around online and sharing ideas. I have learned some things I never would have considered, which has been invaluable. Whether your job is big or small, talk to Rose! It can make a big difference to have her discerning eye!

We had a wonderful experience working with Rose and would definitely recommend her. We hired her to design the renovation and furnish our finished basement. She worked with us through every phase of the project. Initially she helped us visualize what the space would look like once it was completed so we could better direct the contractor who did the renovation. Then she worked with us to select a new vanity, faucet, hardware, mirror, light fixture, and tile for our bathroom. Then she helped us to pick paint colors, flooring, and recessed lighting for the whole basement. She provided several floor plan options for the main room and she helped us select an area rug, media center, sectional couch, lamp, ottomans, end tables, shelving for toys, and throw pillows and blankets. We also wanted to incorporate a wall bed into our basement and she helps us look for options, evaluate size, and placement. She always provided multiple options for us to choose from. And she was careful to recommend items that would fit down our basement stairs which are narrow. She was very sensitive to our budget and helped us pick good quality items that were within our price range. Her suggestions and advice was practical and appropriate for our young children too. My husband and I are very particular. Rose was very patient and generous with her time. She was responsive in providing additional suggestions or feedback to concerns and questions we had. She was also very understanding when we were busy with work and kids and couldn’t focus on making decisions quickly. Rose took the time to understand our design taste and thoroughly explained why she made certain selections. We will definitely call Rose again when we are ready to update other rooms in our home!

We worked with Rose, the owner, to help furnish several rooms in our newly renovated home, including the master bedroom, living room, sitting area and sun room. She made sure she understood our desired style and budget, and then offered up a variety of incredibly creative and unexpected interior design options. As our home was under the process of renovation, she also provided us recommendations on paint color, finishings, and other features so that the spaces look pulled together and distinctive. I simply can't say enough about how pleasant it was to work with Rose. She was always willing to provide additional alternatives if we requested them, and was especially good at helping us decide when it was worth spending more for higher-end pieces and when we could save budget on pieces that were lower-priced but still looked great with the decor. We are thrilled with the results, and have gotten many compliments on the completed space. I recommend Rose without reservation, and I know that at least one friend has already hired her!

Rose worked with me on a project that included our foyer, living room/office, family room, and dining room. I was starting completely from scratch and was very overwhelmed! First, she worked patiently with me room by room and presented various options for furniture arrangement and pieces. We worked together to choose fabrics and color palettes. Next we started on the really fun stuff...paint colors, rugs, pillows, window treatments, mirrors, art work, and light fixtures. For each item, she suggested four or five options, and in every instance I was able to find something I loved with the first presentation of those items. She pulled selections from so many different sources, and was able to get all of the rooms to flow together beautifully. The best part was that Rose always included a selection or two she knew would look great, even though they were slightly out of my comfort zone. I trusted her and chose some, and she was right with all of them! I absolutely love all of the spaces she designed and would definitely recommend her for your project!

I can't say enough good things about Rose, her fantastic color and design sense, as well as her overall professionalism. Rose helped guide me through a 2nd story addition including both exterior and interior color and material choices. Rose has a keen eye for color combinations and was able to narrow down the thousands of options so as to make the whole process run smoothly and keep it enjoyable! I will be forever grateful to Rose for helping me get through such a daunting project. With a renovation this large, it is easy to get overwhelmed and Rose was the perfect person to keep me on track and provide the color and design expertise that I desperately needed!!

Overall, not a great experience. Final design document was just a PDF collage and did not include furniture arrangement suggestions. The PDF apparently was repurposed from an old project and contained an element from that project in it. Bedroom furniture was suggested for the living room. Some pieces she "sourced" and suggested I buy were not even available for purchase. She knew I had cats, yet recommended I buy a plant that is toxic to animals. When I inquired about why there was no layout / floor plan visual in the final design document, she told me first that the measurements I provided were insufficient, but then later back tracked and denied I even expressed interest in having it (if I did not request the layout in the final design document, why would she ask me for the measurements of my room as well as the existing pieces of furniture that I intended to keep?). Would not rehire and would not recommend.

Rose was an absolute pleasure to work with! I hired her for a two-hour consultation on my living/dining room. I am a former architect, and although I have a good sense of my design style (modern but classic), I was struggling with space planning, furniture selection, and how to introduce color. Rose gave me exactly what I needed to get moving. She answered all of my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully, using fabric swatches, paint samples, and catalogs to illustrate her ideas. She was knowledgeable about a wide range of styles and products and provided multiple options for each piece of furniture we discussed. Most important, she encouraged me to guide the discussion, which allowed me to make sure that we covered all of the topics I wanted to discuss within the two-hour time frame. Even after the consultation, she generously answered my follow-up questions via email. I am very happy with Rose’s services, and would absolutely hire her again.

Rose was successful in walking us through the process to implement some great renovation and design concepts. She had great ideas to change our living/dining space from one large open area into a beautiful space that functioned more effectively. I was thrilled with Primrose Interior Design. I recently moved and was overwhelmed with the placement/lighting of my art collection as well as selecting new furniture that reflected my esthetic. We had a great experience with Rose Ramseur of Primrose Interior Design! Rose helped us with the design of two rooms in our new house: the living room and master bedroom. We told Rose what our goals were for these two rooms (how we wanted to use them, what our style is, and our budget), and she suggested options for floor plans, paint colors, furniture, and other decor. We purchased the items ourselves, per our agreement with Rose. Rose not only helped us to meet all of our goals, she was a pleasure to work with! We have been extremely happy with Rose's recommendations and love the way the rooms turned out. She used the space in a different, but much better, way than we would have imagined, and she suggested many items that we would not have found or put together on our own but that we ended up really loving. Our living room now has tons of great seating, is sophisticated but still comfortable, and looks really unique, despite our limited budget and our purchasing most items from regular retailers. Rose was also very professional, responsive and completed tasks in a very timely manner. We really enjoyed working with her!

Primrose Interior design did a fantastic job - this was the first time I hired an interior designer and it was the best decision. Rose Ramseur was patient, creative and fun to work with on my project which was designing a new office using two rooms full of furniture and whittling it down to a much smaller space. The solution included just the right mix of what I needed in a creative way, beautiful way. I was given three different layouts to choose from and used my existing furniture with option to buy some new pieces and great suggestions for accessories.
