A professional we respected in the construction industry referred Principle Design and Construction to us for our kitchen and bathroom remodel project. I checked out their Houzz reviews and was excited to see that they earned 5 stars on every review! Now that our own project is completed, we add our enthusiastic 5 stars as well! Ojini is a creative and innovative designer. She took our 1986 kitchen and redesigned it to give us amazingly more space, cupboards, and a truly functional room that makes cooking a joy again. She added so many of her personal touches that it is an outstanding example of "designer quality" as opposed to typical tract home. Jack and Ojini oversaw each step in the process and gave us the sense of security that everything was being done properly. Their crews were magnificent, professional, reliable, and friendly. There were several times when we traveled out of the area during the demolition and reconstruction process and we fully trusted that everything would be done correctly in our absence. A special shout-out to Robert, the cabinet maker, who is a perfectionist and built the cupboards that are incredible looking and functioning. Ojini and Robert took on several challenging areas and problem-solved to give us even more space. Thank you to Principle Design and Construction and we would give 20 stars if we could!

Having seen the work that Principle Design & Construction had done in the homes of our friends, we did not look further when our condo needed to be completely remodeled. Because our primary residence is in another state, all decisions were made via meetings on facetime or e-mail correspondence. This worked amazingly well. We were also sent samples of products for our consideration. We were enthusiastically guided through the entire process by Ojini, the designer. Principle Design & Construction has a network of subcontractors that are superb craftsmen. The end result is fantastic!!!

There are not enough adjectives to describe the incredible work that Principle Design did remodeling our home. Jack and Ojini are remarkable! My husband and I had different ideas as to what we wanted and our vision for our families comfort. Ojini listened to our needs and in turn used her creative insight to turn our entire living space into a spectular, warm and inviting home. Jack's expansive knowledge as a contractor made everything effortless. Their sub-contractors have worked with them for years and that is a testament to the quality of work they provide for their clients and the dedication of a staff who trusts them in return. They provided exact scheduling via-email for us on a daily basis, as well as texting the information. We knew when and what contractors would be arriving and working in our home. Each contractor was respectful of us living in our home while working. Daily, Ojini or Jack would arrive to inspect the progress. When we were told work would begin at 8 am, they arrived at 7:55 am. When we were told a start and completion date. Principle Design delivered. The best part was I did not have to lift a finger! Everything from the very last detail was handled by Jack, Ojini and their staff. We are hiring them to remodel our upstairs and all additional work for the future. Never will we use any other construction and design firm other than Principle Design. They put the "P" in premier quality construction, design and most importantly the warm and professional comfort they brought as individuals to turning our home into a sanctuary for our family-Bravo, Jack and Ojini!

I have worked with a lot of contractors over the years and had mostly good experiences. However Principal Design and Construction is truly a cut above all the rest. During the design process, Ojini really took time to understand how we used the kitchen and to get a sense of our taste. She was prompt and gave us many options. She put together a quote and made everything very clear. More impressive, the job came in for the price quoted. She is a good listener and worked hard to make our vision a reality. During the construction phase, her husband Jack gave us a realistic schedule and stuck to it. We were in constant communication. Jack and Ojini have very high standards and held all of the subs to them. I couldn't be more happy with our working relationship. The kitchen is everything we hoped for and more. We can't wait for the opportunity to work with them again.

I worked with Principle Design & Construction on a pretty significant kitchen remodel. From the minute that I began working with Ojini, I could tell she was extremely organized and professional. She is also a very talented designer--I showed her some inspirational photos to give her an idea of what I wanted and she really "got it" and ran with it and helped me make it something unique and my own. It was also extremely easy to pick everything out--from the backsplash, to the lighting, plumbing fixtures, etc. Ojini would get an idea of what I wanted and bring over some samples for me to choose from. The only component I needed to go out to choose was a slab for the center island countertop and even that, Ojini really simplified by narrowing the selection for me to choose so that we were able to get in and out in half an hour. She would also suggest unique finishing touches such as a beautiful custom stove hood that really stands out as a centerpiece in the kitchen. The subcontractors that she uses were also very professional and kept the place as clean and put together as possible during the renovation--and Ojini also monitors them closely. Any little hiccup that does come up, she is always on top of and it gets worked out quickly and really goes the extra mile to get it fixed. (For example, I left my garage door open one day to allow the workers to go in and out easily and a swarm of bees somehow flew into the garage. Ojini called me to let me know so that I could get out an exterminator asap and made sure that all doors to the house were sealed off so the bees didn't get into the house.) We also have young kids, so it was critical for me that the work gets done on time because I have heard nightmare renovation stories that drag on for an extended period. Ojini understood this need and worked hard to make sure it happened. In the end, all work was completed in the promised timeframe. And the end result is gorgeous and uniquely ours! We absolutely LOVE our new kitchen and I still smile every morning when I come downstairs and see it. I would highly recommend Principle Design & Construction.

From the beginning of the project to the end of the project, we could not have been more thrilled with Ojini and Jack's professionalism, attention to quality, design and detail, budget and deadlines. We found Principle Design and Construction (PDI) great to work with especially Ojini. She was extremely helpful and patient in guiding us to the decisions we needed to make with regard to our remodel. When we had a problem with the work of one of the subcontracts, PDI stepped in and the issue was resolved to our satisfaction. The final product was excellent and we are extremely happy with the work.

I called Ojini after seeing her work at a friend's home. She called me back immediately and she worked with my schedule. Ojini was very accommodating of our needs as a family and our budget. Where do I start! Stop looking at other companies and go with PDC! From start to finish their professionalism and organization is like no other. Remodeling your home can be a stressful time, but owners Jack and Ojini make it stress free. The vision that Ojini has is amazing! She designed something that we never thought would be possible and assured us it would look amazing and it did. Everyday my wife and I walk in our new home we are still amazed at the transition that was made from before and after. I had the pleasure of photographing a recent project for Principle D&C. The communication throughout the entire project was excellent. Ojini was very clear and communicated her goals for shooting the project. I arrived on the day of the shoot, and the spaces were absolutely immaculate. They were clean, organized, and ready for photographs. The spaces were designed very well and it was a privilege to photograph them. I highly recommend Principle D&C and I look forward to working with them again!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Principle Design and Construction. They helped us with our powder room and guest bathrooms. I was impressed with how they met all our needs. They pay attention to detail, and came up with creative ideas to personalize the rooms. They were always clear on where we were in the process and were great listeners too! I actually found Principle Design & Construction on Houzz when I searched "Design to Build" for contractors. I also wanted to find a company that would provide 3D images so that I could the "Property Brothers/Fixer Upper" experience that I have watched over and over on HGTV. My first call with Jack, the company owner, was great. He was willing to discuss with me the entire scope of our project and then recommended that I talk with the company designer, Ojini (also Jack's wife). Ojini called me the next day and we set our first appointment. From Day 1, Ojini has cared for our project (and our family) like it was her own and has always been immediate in her follow up to my countless questions. If you are even considering a designer other than Ojini...stop now!! No one is better than her at exceeding expectations! We had weekly planning sessions that moved our project right along. All construction, materials and decor were selected at these meetings. Being a kitchen/family room remodel, Jack and Ojini knew how important the kitchen would be to the everyday function of our family, so they waited until the very last minute to start demo. Once we started demo and construction, Ojini was on site at least 3 times a week to make sure everything was coming together exactly like the 3D drawings we had agreed upon. There were so many details that I could not have imagined tending to without her (ie. outlet location, type of outlets, etc.). Our project was scheduled for 12 weeks and was wrapped up in 10!! I had heard so many horror stories from other friends having contractors spend double the amount of weeks on the project that they quoted, and Principle Design & Construction was actually early...AMAZING!!! If you were like me and looking for Chip and Joanna Gaines professional, fun and personable style that you see on TV, then you are going to LOVE Ojini and Jack! Not to mention, their crew including their foreman, Ryer, is fantastic, too. I highly recommend working with Principle Design & Construction. In fact, a few friends have already started working them.

Principle Design and Construction did an amazing job transforming our kitchen. Ojini's design gave us a beautiful, flowing, functional kitchen with way more storage space than we had before. Highly recommend them!!

Our remodel—about 800 square feet—included taking the kitchen, full guest bathroom, pantry, and laundry room down to the foundation and walls, as well as installing new floors and fine doors in other rooms. It’s the biggest project we’ve undertaken in any of our homes. We were nervous going into it, and we wanted it done right. We didn’t realize how good a designer could be until we began working with Ojini. Everything she does is first-rate, from brainstorming to draftsmanship to meticulous attention to detail for the duration of the job. She’s a delight to work with. She’s confident that any problems can be solved—and then she solves them. We think it’s possible that she never sleeps. We can’t imagine how the project would have gone without this designer. There are a thousand decisions to make, and each one involves looking at options. She did all of the research for each decision and presented us with complete information to make the best choices. Where we needed to save money, she found ways to save money. Ojini has excellent ideas, but she’s also a great listener. An example: We wanted decorative Mexican Talavera tile in the kitchen. At first, Ojini showed us tile that is a Southwest style. We said that’s not it, we want true Talavera tile. On her weekend, she drove down to a Mexican tile vendor near El Centro—no small distance—where she talked to the guys, looked at a LOT of tile, and came home with samples. When we met on Monday, she absolutely nailed it with a plan that married traditional Talavera tile with up-to-date design. The tilework in our kitchen is gorgeous, and so is everything else. We ended up with much more space in a room that appears more intimate. We don’t know how she did this. Ojini must be a genie. Jack is also amazing. “I train my people not to say ‘no’ to a customer,” he says, and he means it. His skills and the skills on his team are outstanding, and all the workers, subs and vendors are very nice to deal with. Jack’s communications skills are outstanding. Not least, the job was finished on time and, except for some minor changes we asked for, on budget. In the end, we felt we got every penny’s worth for our money. Jack and Ojini are the best designer/contractor we’ve ever worked with, and we’re looking forward to using them again (which will be very soon).

We used Principle Design & Construction for a major home remodel. We completely gutted the house and redid the kitchen, three bathrooms, fireplace, stairway, hardwood floors on the first floor and carpet on the second floor. They pretty much touched everything in the house including plumbing, electrical (recessed lighting, new outlets and light switches), painting, adding A/C, and new doors and door casings. Principle Design is a top notch company and comes with our highest recommendation. I was looking for a company that would handle both design and construction, as I wanted to deal with just one company to handle everything. I called them to discuss my project and Jack called me back the same day. Then we met with Ojini a few days later to give her an idea of the scope of our project. She then gave us a detailed 5-6 page written proposal breaking down the costs a few days later. I was already impressed as no other company even gave me a written proposal. After deciding to proceed with Principle Design, we met with Ojini twice a week over the course of roughly three months to go over layouts, style, colors, hardware, etc. She was very accommodating and always organized and prepared. She also was willing to work within our budget and told us areas where we could cut back and areas where it would make more sense to spend a little more. Construction was as smooth and painless as we could have hoped for. We were able to move out of the house and they completed everything in 10 weeks. Our project was on time, on budget, and without any major issues! Practically unheard of in the construction business. It was wonderful that we only had to deal with Jack, Ojini, and Ryer (their project manager). It definitely made things simpler to just deal with a few people and trust that they would handle everything properly. Everyone was professional and all of the companies they used to subcontract did top notch work and the workmanship and quality was excellent. They kept us in the loop with how things were progressing and if there were any minor issues that we needed to address. Even after the project is over if you notice any small little issues, they will come out to address it and make sure you are completely happy with everything. I told Jack and Ojini that before the process began, I couldn't have imagined my house looking as good as it does now. That's the biggest compliment I could give them. Plus the fact that they completed the project on time was very amazing. I highly recommend them for all types of projects big or small.

We just finished a kitchen remodel with Principle, and could not be more pleased. Of utmost importance to us was clear communication and Principle absolutely met our expectations in this regard. When there were bumps in the road, they were remedied quickly and professionally. Ojini was fantastic to work with through the design phase and beyond--she listened, gave her honest opinions and recommendations, and made sure everything we decided upon was executed to perfection. Their design concepts and space planing were enhanced by their ability to read our personal style and preferences. My family was thrust into the market for a design and construction company after a significant water leak in our kitchen and butlers pantry. Ojini and her team came to our rescue with great design options, ideas on how to leverage key elements that we wanted to keep while bring new materials we would never have thought of. Throughout the process the Principle team was professional, courteous, timely, and so very accommodating. Although issues were very limited the few were addressed until resolved and satisfied. In addition, once the project got rolling they kept their commitments and were on time and budget (even during the holiday season!). The living room is the next project and Ojini will be our first call.

We retained Ojini and Jack Arzoumanian of Principle Design & Construction for a significant interior renovation of our home (knocking out walls, cleared to the studs, ripping up the foundation, etc.). Our experience with them from the initial design conversations to the 3-month construction project to the final, small corrections a year later has been outstanding. They are reliable, responsive and good listeners. On those rare occasions that we had an "issue" during our construction, they were collaborative in seeking a solution and quick to implement it. Jack, Ojini and all their team get my highest recommendation!

My husband and I hired Ojini and Jack of Principle Design Group to do our remodel and extend our kitchen out. To say that we were happy is an understatement. They and all of their crews were on time, respectful and went above and beyond to make us happy with our remodel. I have worked with Principle Design & Construction for at least 6 years on different renovation projects. My portion of the renovation is the window treatments, which is toward the finished end. Several different trades are involved, all of which speak highly and respectively of Principle Design. It is a pleasure to work on their projects and see the vision fulfilled for their client. There are several pictures on this site of their work and I have been involved in most of the window treatments pictured.

I surveyed the competition, interviewed 3 other contractors, and ended up hiring Jack and Ojini to remodel our kitchen and master bath. Like others, Im very particular when outsourcing work especially when it involves big projects and big money. I can unequivocally say that I made the right choice! Jack and Ojini have the perfect skillset to get the job done. They were completely transparent when things were not going as planned and provided recommendations all within budget. My wife and I hired Principle Design & Construction (Principle) to redo our Kitchen and replumb our entire Newport Beach townhome after a series of pin hole leaks damaged our kitchen and left us leery of our water supply lines. Principle did a fantastic job incorporating our style into a great finished product. (See the “Hillside” Project in Principle's Portfolio) Principle works as a husband and wife team with Ojini helping design the project and her husband Jack implementing the design. You can tell from Principle’s portfolio that Ojini is a talented designer and not restricted to design a particular style. Ojini and Jack were excellent communicators, and fair and honest in dealing with the inevitable bumps encountered with any construction project. The few change orders along the way were dealt with quickly and for fair price. Principle’s plumbing subcontractor did a great job of re-plumbing and appeared to do the job right the first time and did an excellent job of cleaning up at the end of the night. I plan on using them for our future bathroom remodels and highly recommend them.

I was extremely happy with our bathrooms final transformation. It was very easy to work with Ojini & Jack. The work men they used were pleasant, courteous and clean. Our home was always left is a clean manner. I felt I was kept in the loop as to when the contractors would be arriving and what and whom was scheduled next. We have had the pleasure of working with Jack and Ojini on three projects in our home. We started with a master bed and bath renovation. Desigining with Jack and Ojini during the planning phase was so comfortable that my husband and I left for business for 5 weeks while Jack and his team completed the entire project. I am very skeptical in hiring contractors because many are not qualified, many don't meet deadlines or flat out do not do quality work. When I first met Jack & Ojini they were very organized, answered all my questions and were upfront about everything involved in our remodel. After extensive research I decided to hired them to remodel my house. Their crew was amazing, always on time, very clean with great communication skills, someone was always working on the house so it can get done. I'm typically not the type to write reviews but I was so pleased with my experience with Principle Design & Construction I had to share with others. Highly, Highly recommend them.
